One of the best comic (and toy) shops in the world...If you're looking for something specific, very…read moregood chance they either have it (or something related). Super friendly owners with a wealth of knowledge. Check it out and fill some holes in your collection!

It pains me to have to write this review. I've been a comic book collector in the Bay Area since…read morethe 1970s with over 45 years of experience with local shops. I used to consider Batcave one of the 'better' comic book stores. I first started going to the store in 2019 when my wife and I would make the store one of our main destinations to buy back issues when we were passing through the area. This store used to be something my wife and I looked forward to visiting. Unfortunately, that has changed. About a month ago, we made a special trip to Santa Rosa to pick out some back issues. We had not visited in a while and we looked forward to it. While browsing the back issues, I found that I needed to use the restroom. I saw a fellow customer go into a door that appeared to be a bathroom. There was no sign on the door indicating that this restroom was not for public use, etc. When the customer walked out, I went in after them. It was extremely gross inside with a mop partially blocking access to the toilet and I felt uncomfortable touching anything. The next thing I know, the owner was yelling at me aggressively through the door and pounding in a violent manner. He shouted, "The restroom isn't for public use!!!" I walked back out past the owner, apologizing profusely while he glared at me. I explained that I saw another customer go in to use the restroom so I assumed it was for public use. I told him I was extremely sorry, that it was an honest mistake and that it wouldn't happen again. The owner didn't respond, just scowled at me. I heard his wife loudly yelling, "(insert expletive insult here)!!!" I proceeded to put the back issues I had picked out back in their boxes. I no longer felt comfortable spending my money there after being shouted at and insulted. It was a mistake anyone could have made considering the door didn't have signage saying not to use it. But the owner's reaction was over the top and extremely aggressive over something so small. I went to find my wife, explaining what had happened when I showed up without back issues. She was extremely upset and unbeknownst to me posted a review saying that the owner's behavior was unprofessional. She was not ok with the way I was treated after so many years of going there. The owner could have responded to her review in an professional adult manner but instead he chose to throw a tantrum in his response, claiming that I had left urine on his floor causing a biohazard. I thought that was the end of it. However, it wasn't. A few weeks later, I was attending the old school Berkeley Comic Show. I walked up to one of the booths and started looking through a long box. Suddenly, a hand came over the box, blocking my view. A voice yelled at me, "you are NOT welcome here! You need to keep walking! You are banned for LIFE!" I walked away calmly, caught off guard by his unhinged anger towards me. He was shouting at the top of his lungs, trying to get the attention of the other vendors at the convention and his customers - anyone who would listen. He was trying to embarrass me and get the other vendors to turn me away as well. Thankfully, the other vendors paid him no notice. He was shouting about what a piece of garbage I was for using his bathroom, how pissed he was because my wife had written a negative review, he kept going on and on. I have honestly never encountered anything like this behavior in my forty five years of comic collecting. The level of anger coming from him was out of proportion for what was a simple misunderstanding. All I can only think that the owner must be an extremely unhappy and bitter person to hold such a grudge over something so small, that he would try and ruin my convention experience by embarrassing me to other vendors. Needless to say, I will never be shopping at Batcave again. I would encourage others to do the same. I wasn't even going to post this review until I was harassed in a public space by the owner. I only hope that the owner gets the help that needs, whether that's attending anger management courses or possibly going into a different field of business.

The service is great, my fiancé bought a bunch of magic cards here and they're really informative…read moreand helpful. The selection is pretty good, especially the manga, they could use some more boy love but that's okay. Tom Beland used to work here and I miss seeing him. Definitely recommend getting anything by Brian K. Vaughn. "Y The Last Man" is incredible. The best story of all time. The prices are good and I've been coming here for years. Bigger location now and there's an upstairs! Yay!!

The only positive I can say about this shop is they have about three wonderful employees, decent…read moreselection, and have snacks. For example: I asked someone for help locating a small amount of cards and all he answered was idk. No effort to check anywhere besides the front glass case, etc. Also the majority of the time this shop has things for sale at scalper prices. Plus they try and push their own product called Vaulted Rarity which is just repacked cards with crappy value, etc . Also, if you try and turn in cards for store credit or if you dare cash value, you're going to majorly ripped off and get a small percentage of what it's worth. I've also ran into a lot of toxic customers here during gaming tournaments not really abnormal for the card gaming community but expect to have them do nothing if issues occur. Parking is not wonderful either with either small parking spaces, illegal parking behind othe cars during release weekends and people racing through the parking lot. If you want to not experience being ripped off, bad customer service, and be in a welcoming environment.... I would recommend going to Harveys in Rohnert Park.

Pretty good. I went to their Spring Sale yesterday, and walked away with a brand new stroller…read more(still in the box!), and several gently used items (2 maternity sweaters, a Baby Bjorn, and a diaper bag)...all for $180. Nice! Overall, there are plenty of gems to find in this place, and I landed some great deals. Be prepared to sort through some not-so-gems though. There is wide range of quality, brands, and the condition of the used materials varies quite a bit. If you're looking for something very specific, don't count on it being there, but if you're looking for general baby or kids gear, there is something for everyone. I'm a big fan of buying "gently used." Key word here is "gently." I was disappointed to find many of the products in not-so-great condition. However, there was enough nicer stuff to make it worthwhile trip. Also, I was surprised by some of the prices. When I buy used, I'm expecting somehwere around 50% discounts on good condition items, and much steeper discounts on items in lesser condition. People set their own prices, so I suspect some folks who are new at consigning haven't really figured out how to properly price their items. The organizers might consider providing more specific pricing guidance, b/c some of the items just seemed over priced. Why would I pay 80-90% of retail for something that is obviously used, when I can pay something more for brand new plus be able to return or exchange it if I change my mind, it doesn't fit, it gets recalled, etc.? I was hoping to outfit my nursery, but the nursery furniture was pretty limited and nothing really caught my fancy. I'm sure some years there is more of a selection, though. There are a ton of baby clothes, toys, books... so I'll definitely be back once my baby has actually arrived is a little older. I went on Saturday, after the presales, and still had some great finds. I suspect the nice items are pretty much gone by the end of Saturday. So, the 50% discount on Sunday will probably net you some steals, but I suspect what is left may be less "gently" used.
