This is a small 'spa' in downtown Chicago but the owner Claudia is excellent at her job & a reason for returning again & again. Claudia was good at her job & amazing to talk to - full of stories and wisdom, she entertained me thoroughly & made my experience a relaxing, fun one! I definitely look forward to more mani-pedi sessions with Claudia! P.S - For all those groupon/amazon fans, Claudia has her own discounted gift certificates (2 mani/pedis for $38) which are cheaper! I got a groupon for a mani/pedi here and it was definitely worth it! I had not had either service done in QUITE a while, so my hands and feet were in bad shape. Claudia was super nice and did amazing work. We chatted most of the time and she gave me great tips on how to care for my hands and feet, especially during the dry and cold winter months. I sadly chipped one nail while putting my coat on, but we fixed it up and it hasn't chipped at all yet (normally I chip within 2-3 days) and it's been almost a week. I brought my own color in so I could ensure that I got the color I wanted (it also helps for when I need to fill in pesky chips at home), but she had a nice selection of Essie, OPI, and others. It was really calm and chill in her suite, which is exactly what I wanted! I definitely will go back. read more

I had to WALK OUT in the middle of my mani-pedi..... I wanted to get a nice mani pedi before my vacation. Claudia REFUSED to take off my cuticles. She blatantly said that it's illegal in Illinois to take off cuticles and that all these other places don't have licenses and that's why they cut cuticles, but she's the only one licensed and she can lose her business over this. Take a minute to process this comment: ALL THE OTHER SALONS EXCEPT HER HAVE NO LICENSES lol...Luckily my feet were in good shape because I had just done some deep scrubbing TLC myself, so I was willing to close my eyes on her poor job in cleaning them up. However when it came time to my manicure, I told her that I NEED the cuticles cut off not pushed back. And she refused to do it. The most frustrating thing about this whole experience is that she talks back to you in this patronizing way that she knows best whether or not cuticles should be cut off. If i spend my money on getting my nails done, I want them done the way I want it. I just got up and left. Had to go to another place to actually get it done right. read more

Absolutely awful. I went to my appointment this morning, and there were 2-3 separate buildings with same address so I called and asked how to find. When I got there, an abrasive woman berated me and said it was obviously here (in a door that wasn't well marked, below ground between the two other buildings that had the same street address... and with a different name than A Class Act Nail Spa on the door - still didn't see it written anywhere). She continued to berate me until we got to the nail area (for no reason other than she kept complaining and saying how it was obviously there), and I just finally felt so accosted and said that it wasn't my fault I couldn't find it easily and she should just know for her other customers who can't find it. She continued to kvetch at me and so i just said that i didn't want to stay and continue to be accosted for absolutely no reason. And she yelled at me that i was wasting her time. I'm in 40s, have traveled all over the world, have had absolutely terrible service and dealt with it. But I don't remember ever being treated like this for no reason. I was polite and respectful and was treated with such disdain that I would like my money back. I will make this also well known on all review sites - I never ever leave reviews good or bad - so I'm appalled and it wasted my money and my time to be aggressed by a very miserable woman. It was a deal I bought through Groupon and seemingly has good reviews. So maybe the place is nice, but this woman was so absolutely terrible that I will go out of my way to tell people never to go there. read more

I guess you get what you pay for ... I bought the Groupon for the 75 minute mani/pedi and was really expecting some pampering. Both mani and pedi were complete after a total of 45 minutes... including drying time. If cutting cuticles aren't part of her practice I can appreciate her philosophy. However she needs to spend that extra time allowing you to soak in the chair and doing more massage of legs and hands! Very basic service. Would not go back even at the Groupon price. read more

I waited to leave feedback as I expected to hear back from the owner/technician, but after over a week, that hasn't happened. I reached out to her that I had a VERY less than satisfactory nail service. While I mentioned to her that I saw a few issues with my toenails (toe separators smashed the big toes??) prior to leaving, it came nothing close to what I realized once I'd gotten home. A nightmare! My 7yr old son would have done a better job!! My manicure was also much to be desired- cuticles ragged and lacquer chipping by the next day. On top of the fact that I'd gone to her specifically for my 4th of July birthday. Yes, I arrived to my appt late (I called in advance and repeatedly apologized) but there was still more than an hour remaining to complete the appt, and if she knew there NO way she'd be able to do even a half decent job, she should have insisted I come back another time. I left an online message (no one picks up the phone) within a few days hoping that the owner/technician would have done the right thing and gotten in touch with me, but I've heard nothing. Not good business and as "nice" as the owner seemed to be and with so many previous good reviews, I am really disappointed that this is the kind of service I received. Still smh... read more

Claudia was just amazing! My first one with a one on one personal mani and pedi was amazingly great! I have never been treated better at any nail salon then at this one. She is very sweet and great at her job and what she does. I wouldn't go anywhere else but with her. She makes you feel like you are at home and welcomed if you are new or a regular. She treats you like family. A spa day should be about being relaxed with a friend or even your self. And she makes sure you get the best of the best! Thank you Claudia! With 10 days left on a groupon, called and no appointments available until 2 days after expiration and she would not honor it. Her reply was that "you have two months to use it, so no I won't honor, call groupon for a refund!" Seriously! When I called Groupon they said the policy is that if the appointment is made b/4 expiration, they should honor it. Not good customer service!!! Hope Groupon goes after this company!! Found this place through Groupon and will definitely return! I had no idea when I purchased that it was actually a small space run by one person - Claudia. The 1:1 atmosphere was great, I loved the paraffin treatment during my pedi, and it was an overall enjoyable experience. Despite the fact that people are complaining here about polish selection or the type of services offered, call ahead. Don't just assume every place will be the same, especially when it's one person trying to run her own business. Be appreciative and respectful and you'll get respect in return! read more

I bought a Groupon to try this nail salon for the first time and I could not be happier! I would've gladly paid full price for the relaxing and professional manicure and pedicure. Claudia was fabulous and incredibly knowledgeable about nail health and maintenance, and she took great care to make the experience relaxing and luxurious. When I finally managed to redeem my Groupon for a Spa manicure-pedicure, I was pleasantly surprised. Instead of a salon with multiple stations and routinized services, i received individual attention and time from Claudia. This is the first "bargain" mani-pedi I ever had that took 90 minutes, was helpful in terms of picking colors that went with my skin tones, and provided paraffin. The latter makes paying full price completely worth it. My feet are now soft--they haven't felt so well-treated since having a high-end spa treatment years ago. I will definitely return, even though I am not a regular consumer of manicures and pedicures. read more

This is a wonderful salon! Being an individual room, it was very relaxing. I got the mani pedi with sugar scrub and paraffin wax on a promotion for $25 dollars which was an excellent value! Classless Act Nail Spa!!! (No stars) I just had a HORRIBLE experience with Gene, He calls me at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to yell at me about my 2:30 p.m. appointment. That is unacceptable. On May 12th, I scheduled a "Two spa manicure/pedicure" appointment for Saturday, June 14th. I called the day I scheduled to make sure. On June 13th, I received a text message confirming our appointment and I responded that we would be there. I received a call from Gene at 8:00 in the morning today (the day of our appointment). Gene tells me that I cannot use 2 vouchers today and I can only use 1. He said I would lose the voucher if I didn't come to the appointment. He began yelling at me saying that I received 2 emails yesterday and I never responded. I checked my emails this morning. He sent them after midnight last night. Of course I didn't respond; I was sleeping. I am so upset. Not only did he wake up the entire household this morning, he was yelling at me for 10 minutes and made me cry. I tried explaining to him that this was a gift for my husband for father's day and that we were coming together. He would not listen and hung up on me. I called back and tried speaking with Claudia. He said perhaps Claudia did not understand me. He said he could not see us both and the appointment was cancelled. He ruined my day and ruined my husband's father's day gift. I do not want to go there and do not want to do any business with that nail place. read more

Claudia is amazing. I've been to the high-end Mario Tricoci's and small boutiques and she is by far the best. She is extremely attentive, professional, hygienic and really makes her clients feel special. I couldn't have imagined a better experience. I went in to get a mani/pedi and immediately was informed about a potential medical issue I might have and was even suggested a doctor to go see. It is very evident that she is extremely experienced and I really appreciate her honesty. As a client, I truly felt special. She even helped me get all of my belongings together and walked with me to the door. I am definitely coming back and highly recommend Claudia. read more

Worst experience I've ever had , first of all I didn't know that there is only one person working there, so after reading some of the reviews I thought I should ask for Claudia . On appointment day when she asked me to go into this very small room, she told me "You didn't have to request for Claudia in your appointment I'm the only one working here. "As if I should've known that. So she calls me in and there's another person inside as well , it looked like she was waiting for a manicure. Claudia asked me to pick a color and so I already knew which color I was looking for a color called borrowed blue which it's like an aqua lite blue color. By the way she only has about 60 colorful nail polishes and so she didn't have Borrowed Blue. She then asked me to pick another color which I didn't want, so she went ahead and said "If you don't like my choices you can go some where else. I had never felt so humiliated , Needless to say I will never go to this rude lady ever again. read more
