On my latest visit to my elderly mother's Brooklyn home, I used A Good Plumber for two separate issues over 10 days. We had used this service about three years ago. At that time, mom's main sewer line was clogged. We had been very impressed with Thomas, who is extremely neat, professional, gives an honest analysis on costs and expected results. I had made an appointment with A Good Plumber for a "second opinion" on a serious faucet leak on a vintage 1950's bathroom sink. Another plumber told me that it could not be fixed because the parts might break and no replacements are readily available. That plumber didn't want to risk attempting repair of the fixture; his only solution was complete ripout and replacement. Thomas however, is clearly passionate about his plumbing. He looked at the sink as an opportunity to work on the vintage hardware, the confidence and patience to attempt a repair, and it actually worked! The job was not inexpensive, but cost less than full replacement and was non-disruptive to mom. I assumed that would be the last I'd see of Thomas for the foreseeable future. However, a week later, the slop sink in mom's basement backed up and overflowed. I assumed it was lint from the washer that was clogging her sink drain. Thomas said it was the main sewer line. Both of us were right. Two separate clogs, which made the job harder. Another plumber might have insisted on disassembling the drain piping for the slopsink. But Thomas knew the cast iron was old and delicate and wanted to avoid creating additional problems. He was patient, and thorough, and the job got done! It's always tough trying to find the best plumbers in Brooklyn. I ran across A Good Plumber on Google and decided to give them a shot after reviewing their website. Late Sunday evening I decided to give A Good Plumber Inc. a call, to see if what they say about 24x7 emergency service is actually true. They're not kidding. I first called at 7:00pm and got a message saying their office was closed but I could get a live representative if I wanted to for emergencies. From that point on I knew the experience was going to be good one. I explained to the representative the work I wanted to get done and said she would be able to have a tech stop by within a couple hours. I'm not going to lie, I was surprised when they actually showed up on time. . I explained to him the work that I needed and he provided me with different options as to how I could be approached and gave me upfront pricing on each of the options. His work was fairly fast and I was amazed to see how effortlessly they performed a task that I struggled with trying to perform myself. The cost was very reasonable and considering the speed of the service it was pennies compared to what I'm sure I would have had to pay elsewhere for that level of professional work. At the end of the day I'm vey satisfied with the plumbing work I was provided and if I have future issues A Good Plumber Inc. will definitely be my top choice. read more

This is A Good Plumber writing this! Yelp is an un-regulated, fake review site. I can go on Yelp and write 50 times how great A Good Plumber is and apparently our competition can slander us here as well. A Good Plumber reviews on Yelp are so far fakes. The other review is obviously someone wo did not listen to us or was shopping prices or is out competition. If you expect to get a fully LICENSED plumber wo is as professional as us to come in the door an clear a drain for $59 (which we never said), you are mistaken. We ask that if you want real review of us, go to a verified, trusted review site such as www.angieslist.com where you will see we have one of the highest ratings of any plumbing company in the NYC area! By far, the best plumbing service ever! From beginning to end, I was offered nothing but the best customer service. I addressed my plumbing concerns with Bill over the phone who was always prompt and friendly. Arrived to my home were Tommy & Mauricio - the most well mannered ,knowledgeable & friendly plumbers. Tommy was honest and patient in explaining the problem areas, he has passion in his work and that's what makes someone the best at what they do. I was super impressed by their effiecency and respect for my home ( they covered their shoes with slip on type slippers) This is the only company we will be using and referring for all plumbing needs. They were super nice, came in, fixed the problem and taught me a lot about plumbing :) Very knowledgeable. Also it's great that they wear shoe covers, cover up the floor and spray down the tub afterwards. The plumbers I had before would leave a stinky mess and I thought that's the way it was supposed to happen all the time. I had Thomas and Mauricio as the plumber and apprentice. The price tag is high, but luckily they accept credit cards. Also I liked that they weren't pushy...they told me one more thing needed fixing but when I declined they just said "that's fine". read more

Technician was good. They gave us a fair evaluation, that our boiler needed to be replaced. No surprises. But when we followed up with them about getting a new boiler, they never returned our calls. Hired another plumber to install new boiler and water heater. UPDATE! A good plumber sent me a refund for the initial inspection because they never followed up. WOW! no one does that! I called up A Good Plumber after hurricane Sandy to fix my broken boiler as winter started to get cold. The guys came out right away and once I walked them through the damage they gave me a reasonable estimate and got to work. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of five because reaching them on the phone was a bit of a hassle, but if you're looking for a plumbers to just come out and do the job then I'd recommend them. read more

I'm so glad I found these guys! A party got out of hand and we ended up with pipes broken in our kitchen at 4am. I called A Good Plumber and luckily they have emergency service guys who were able to come over and fix our ridiculous plumbing issue right then and there. We called A Good Plumber when our water heater suddenly died. Thomas arrived within about an hour. He was cheerful and courteous and took great care to explain the problem and all the options. When we opted for a new water heater he was able to pick one up and install it before the end of the day. I am impressed with the level of service and the personal care.
