We ordered takeout. Ordering process and pickup was easy. From a high level the sandwiches appear expensive. However, one sandwich can serve two people easily. The ingredients are top notch and the focaccia bread is delicious. We ordered Tacchino Italiano 4.5/5 and Piccante Capicollo 5/5. Next time we will snag some cookies or brownies. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The owner, and chief sandwich maker, has been there every time I have visited. The quality of each ingredient is evident in the final product, but, his story and the conversation as he makes the sandwiches truly adds to the experience. The sandwiches are large enough to share and are best eaten the same day. As others have written, the owners are very personable and make a good sandwich. There is a reasonable number of selections and all are of a single meat focus (no meat combos). We split the #7 Spicy Capicola and it was tasty. I would like a tad more of the Capicola though. I thought the Focaccia was not as soft and fresh as others have described. The shop is pretty small. Two small tables, on with two chairs and one with three. There are high stools along the wall counter. Not the place to bring a crowd and eat. The shop itself is spotless and well cared for. The shop is buried in a huge strip mall and can be hard to find. Once we were in the general area, I used Google Maps Walking instructions to locate it. The auto instructions were not precise enough. Drink selections are limited. Canned Coke and Diet Coke, Snapple, water, and Peligrino. No cups or ice are available. I prefer ice with my cold drink, but that is just me. read more

Got the #2 sandwich- it was so delicious, probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten (My photo isn't the greatest- it took restraint from eating it immediately to even take a photo). It was filled very generously with mortadella, burrata and had just the perfect amount of olives/tapenade. The bread was probably my favorite part- very fresh, fluffy and soft, but still had a good crunch that didn't tear up the whole inside of my mouth. Inside is extremely clean and well organized and it's nice to see the meat slicer and fresh ingredients out so you know you're getting amazing quality food. The staff (assuming the owners) were very friendly and polite and wrapped up our sandwiches to take home with us. I noticed this place about a year ago and went to look at the menu online...I saw a bunch of what I thought were weird ingredients (I'm very picky) and didn't look at it further. A couple of weeks ago I happened to be in that plaza and saw the sign and decided to walk in for a further look. The menu looked like nothing I would like, so I looked for the simplest sandwich and settled on the turkey and cheese. I noticed they had no mayo or mustard and no regular lettuce that I recognized. The sandwich was not made in so much as it was crafted...you could see the time and care that was taken...the olive oil...pesto...sun dried tomatoes...roasted peppers, sliced fresh imported turkey and cheese...oh and and the bread! All of it was assembled and carefully wrapped. I paid and went home fully expecting to pick off the arugula and other "weird" stuff and then add mayo and mustard, but something said to just take a bite first. I'm glad I did...it was amazing...well balanced in flavor and texture...a little smokey...substantial fresh baked focaccia bread with a nice aroma and crunch. The balsamic glaze gave a light sweetness that blended perfectly with the olive oil drizzle and I was surprised on how much I liked the addition of the sun dried tomatoes and red peppers! I was super impressed of how well it all came together and noticed that the sandwich eats much bigger than it looks...it's hard to eat both halves and you can save the other half and come back to it later and it still maintains the flavor and crunch! I really love this place and have been back several times...the owners are friendly and the place is spotlessly clean. Do yourself a favor and try this place...it's rare that Surprise supports food establishments that are not corporate in nature. This is a rare gem that we should all try! read more
