Everything about my sandwich exceeded expectations!! The focaccia bread was fresh and the right texture to hold the sandwich. The ingredients taste very high quality. The proportions of each ingredient are also perfect. The olive tapenade is tasty without taking over the flavor of the sandwich. The balsamic glaze really pairs it all together. The peppery arugula is also the only green that makes sense. The hot peppers are actually hot. I don't think I've been so excited about a sandwich ever. The best Italian sandwich I've ever had! I ordered pistachio mortadella, it was packed of flavor, the mortadella was delicious and the burrata was so creamy and soft, combined well with all the ingredients in the ciabatta, which was also crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also had Wagyu beef pastrami, it's more salty but still tasty. The owners are so kind and friendly, and it's a small and clean restaurant that I definitely want to go back and try other flavors. read more

Finally made the hour drive out here from the East Valley. Having been to All' Antico Vinaio in Florence I had to check this place out. The place is small and does not have a lot of seating so be prepared to take your sandwich to go. First off, the bread is outstanding. It is everything I could ask for in this sandwich. The spreads were amazing and the quality of the meat is top notch. I do wish they offered an option for more meat. They also only offer bottled drinks. My husband saw a great review of AGourmet Sandwich Shop in AZ Central, and even though we live in North Scottsdale, we decided to make the drive. So glad we did! He had the prosciutto on pinza bread and I had the vegetarian on focaccia, and both were honestly some of the best sandwiches we've ever had. Aside from layers of quality prosciutto, there is a truffle pecorino spread, burrata cheese, basil pesto, sun dried tomatoes, arugula, balsamic vinaigrette, and olive oil hugged in the middle of a delicious focaccia bread. My husband enjoyed the Waygu beef pastrami sandwich. This one has Waygu beef pastrami, the same truffle pecorino spread, aged provolone, and roasted red bell peppers, but he also requested spicy peppers added as well. He said the sandwich just felt so perfect and balanced in ratio with the crispy yet somehow also soft focaccia bread and the rich Waygu beef pastrami. He was so impressed. I mean, he had some of my left overs last time, but eating it there fresh and in person is a whole different experience! I work in a dental office nearby, and I've told all my patients to come here. We are so lucky to have a local place like this with a couple who love making this delicious wholesome food amidst all the chains that pour over Bell Road. I will choose local every time if I could. My favorite bite was right there in the middle with the delicately thin sliced mortadella, creamy burrata, pistachio and olive spreads all snuggled in between the focaccia pillows. I love family businesses and this place is just that. Small place but very welcoming as you enter the doors. You have a very young girl at the register who's handling transactions and you have the cook putting everything together behind the counter. I tried the pistachio mortadella. It came with pistachio, burrata cheese and fire roasted bell peppers. It was very delicious and well put together. The flavors blended it so perfectly and the bread was soft. I felt confident my sandwich would be prepared in a very careful and loving manner. The owner slices the deli meats and cheeses carefully, slices and scoops out the center of each piece of focaccia, then passes the sandwich along where pesto, arugula, sun dried tomatoes, and other ingredients are carefully added. If you are eating in, the sandwiches are set on a wooden plate covered in a sheet of wax paper and displayed so nicely I almost regretted not eating in. I took mine to go and was equally impressed by the fancy way that my sandwich was wrapped. In all, I really felt like this lunch was prepared with attentiveness and love and that I knew I would get exactly what I had ordered. Everything was delicious. We love these types of sandwiches. I taught my kids long ago to make sandwiches on baguettes or sourdough with pesto, cheese, meat, arugula, and tomatoes so I can't wait to bring them in to try these. There is a restroom at the back of the store for customers. My only wish is that there would be more seating. I didn't quite feel the high narrow tables facing the walls were welcoming or comfortable enough to sit down for a lunch alone or with friends and family. I agree with most that have low score here to the fact that we would appreciate more meat on the sandwich for us carnivorous. I wish it could be done in 10mins but I understand each slice of meat is cut while you wait. ( two people at a minimum need to be at the counter to make the process move quicker). The sandwich is put together so well and each of the ingredients compliment each other in such a way that makes this the best sandwich in Phoenix. The spicy capicola provides such a flavor blast with all the different layers to the sandwich including the Italian chili peppers, creamy burrata, olive oil dressing on the bread and foccacia bread. This place is amazing!! Fresh everything!! The high quality meat is sliced there, the bread is flown in from Ny and baked in their store. Fresh produce etc... also the most amazing homemade spreads like pesto and olives !! The couple that own and run it are really nice and were really kind to our grandchildren by giving them some bread to hold them over until our food was ready. The ambiance is simple, clean, and bright. The only downside is the seating. Maybe someday they can get better chairs and tables to have a nice place to sit with your friends and family.
