The gentleman at the register was very friendly, patient and helpful. The store was very clean and bright. I ordered the chicken salad. It had lettuce, tomato, onion, Swiss cheese and cranberries. It came on a wrap, but I opted for a French roll (fresh and good flavor). The sandwich was delicious. Next time I'd get it without the Swiss cheese but otherwise perfect. My husband got the meatball on a French roll. He is usually really picky about the sauce, but he liked everything about his sandwich. We are definitely going back! Oh, I almost forgot the cookie. 1/5 -- First Time Trying It & Probably My Last This was my FIRST time ever trying Mr. Pickles, and unfortunately, this was a terrible first impression. I was actually excited to try this place, which makes the experience even more disappointing. I ordered a whole Chicken Bacon Ranch on a Dutch Crunch roll, added pepperoni, bacon, and chicken breast, with ranch on the side, NO red onions and NO pickles. I also ordered a whole Reuben on marble rye with extra Swiss and Thousand Island on the side, plus individual macaroni salad and potato salad. The receipt clearly shows my order and exactly how I requested everything, but there was NO ranch dressing for my Chicken Bacon Ranch and NO Thousand Island dressing for my Reuben. How do you send out a Chicken Bacon Ranch with no ranch and a Reuben with no Thousand Island, especially when the receipt specifically says both dressings were supposed to be on the side? That completely ruined both sandwiches for me. I shouldn't have to get home and realize that two of the main things that actually make these sandwiches what they are were left out. And this wasn't me forgetting to request them--the receipt is right there. "Ranch Dressing (on side)" and "Thousand Island (on side)" are both printed on the ticket. Someone simply did not check the order before it went out. When you're paying your money for food, you expect the restaurant to at least make sure everything you ordered is actually in the bag. Especially for a first-time customer. I wanted to try Mr. Pickles and see what the hype was about, but instead I ended up disappointed and feeling like I wasted my money. Honestly, I wish I could get my money back. That's how unhappy I am with this order. I paid for food I didn't get to enjoy the way it was supposed to be served. For a sandwich shop, getting the sandwiches and their basic condiments right should be the bare minimum. This was my first experience here, and unfortunately, it may very well be my last. If you order from this location, check your entire bag before you leave. Check the sandwiches, check the sides, and definitely check for your dressings, because apparently having it clearly printed on the receipt doesn't mean it'll actually make it into your order. The sandwich that I got was a total disaster, as the sandwich was drenched in mayo, had meat with no taste (could be, flavor was drowned out by mayo) and was just a soggy mess, I only ate 1/2 of this sandwich, as it just fell apart. Their cookies taste soft and tender, just the way I like them. They taste better than the store bought cookies and some other restaurant cookies. Awful customer service, got snappy when my grandma called for them to order her food. I found multiple hairs in my sandwich, the two men behind the counter were loud and obnoxious. I went to mr pickels to have "the best sandwich I've ever had anywhere in the world in my whole life" with expectations that it would live up to those comments that have been shared so many times. I got the 1/2 "Santa Maria tri tip" on the crunch roll. Mac salad and an ice tea. 20 bucks. (Looks good, doesn't it?) It wasn't terrible (it was ok) but I will absolutely not get that sandwich again. Attempting Santa Maria tri tip is no easy task. Especially if you don't know how to do it. It requires tri tip roast, spog, and RED OAK. Real red oak. That's it. This thing had a weird chemical taste and I had a hard time trying to figure out what it was. (I also had a hard time eating it). It was artificial smoke. Ok. But what's the other weird flavor? The weird bbq sauce. They fight each other for your attention and the loser is me.... It doesn't work. Tri tip itself was fairly dry and stringy and the sandwich left me with a lingering weird aftertaste. But like I said. Santa Maria style is hard. There once was one place in scottsdale, the smokhaüs that had a pretty good tri tip sandwich but that place is long gone. Anyway.. the roll was good. I'll get it again on something different. Idk. Maybe if I'd tried something else I would have had a better experience. But: the macaroni salad was very bland. It doesn't seem like there is anything in it other than elbow Mac and mayo. I'm told their potato salad is good so if I go back I'll try that. the price though, idk. I can't say it was a good value if I was still hungry after eating and had to find something else to eat. That said I'm glad I didn't get a whole sandwich. On the positive side, The cookie was really good. As was the brisk brand ice tea. Service was very friendly. Place was clean. I added baja sauce to mine because one of the employees told me it was like a spicy ranch and I love that, and let me tell you... it was amazing! I need more of that baja sauce ASAP. My husband got The Italian, and he said it was very good. We both got the Dutch crunch roll of bread, which is a crunchier, harder type of bread. It was good! They have several different options for bread, gluten free wraps available and also have vegan/vegetarian options if that's your thing. They have cold and hot sandwiches, and can make salads. I placed my order online and was quoted 35-46 minutes before I could pickup the 1 cold sandwich I ordered from 8 miles away...ridiculously slow! If it takes them even 10 minutes to make a cold turkey sandwich, they're doing something very wrong! I requested extra pickles and extra pepperoncini peppers on my sandwich and they didn't add those even though it took a loooong time to make my sandwich, so it wasn't even made correctly.
