Very disappointed!
When I called to schedule electrical work to be done in my house, the first thing out of my mouth was "is A-HOME still owned by Mark Phillips?"
Mark did some work in my home sometime before COVID and did a wonderful job, was courteous, respectful, and trustworthy. 5 stars hands down.
Unfortunately, it appears that Mark is no longer involved in the day-to-day operations of his business and some of his employees are a terrible representation.
Everytime you speak with a different person you get a different answer. There lack of coordination and communication with one another is NOT my problem as the customer.
I'm doing quite a bit of home renovating and was very relieved to know that I already had a more than capable electrician. I made additional plans and purchases based on the services of A-HOME Electric.
The person scheduled to do my work (Fernando I think) came unprepared and not wanting to work. I had spoken with the office a couple of times as I added work to be done. The worker said that he came to "install a light fixture." That's the least and easiest of the work I need done. I walked him through and showed him all the work to be done. I had to ask for a quote/estimate. He then stated that he could not get all that work completed at that time. To which I told him there was a 2nd appointment already scheduled for 3 days later to finish off the work. So he tried to leave then without doing any work! I had to tell him that some work was scheduled for right then. I didn't care what, but he needed to decide what he was going to work on. He disagreed and went out to the truck to call the office. Sometime later he came back and told me that he would work on the bathroom (see attached pictures). He did the work, left his mess and trash, I paid $625 in cash and he left.
Now, I wanted a lighted vanity mirror installed but he said "no we don't do that only the wiring." I was very disappointed. Later that day, I remembered that Mark had installed a couple of televisions in the wall and did not understand the difference. So I called the office and said this. She told me that she had to ask the lead or supervising electrician and would get back to me. She called back and said that yes they do install the lighted vanity mirrors and that he would finish that work when he returned.
Needless to say, I realized that I had been given a worker who tried to take advantage of me, was untrustworthy, and no longer welcomed in my home. I called the office a day before he was scheduled to return and said that I didn't want him back in my home. Please schedule someone else. She pushed trying to keep him scheduled, I said no, she had to reschedule me for the following week when someone else was available.
About an hour or so later, I received a call from Adam, the supervisor, who wanted to know why I didn't want his electrician back in my home. I was busy, caught off guard, but quickly explained AGAIN why didn't want the man in MY home. To which Adam's responses were, "oh we don't install lighted vanity mirrors.... new office girls.... MAYBE install this one out of a courtesy...." and more excuses defending his employee who was lazy, unprepared, and messy in my home.
I told Adam that he had upset me even further for these reasons and trying to blame his office workers. "Well she didn't call me and I'm the only supervisor," he said.
About an hour or so after that terribly upsetig call, I called back and left a message that I was canceling and could not trust any of their workers if the supervisor behaves the way he does.
Very disappointing. I have to replan my home renovation, completely removing any additional electrical work and returning merchandise. I spent money for an electrician to put holes into my wall for no reason now. read more
