    Iced matcha latte

Another wonderful experience! Tangerine delicacy, yuzu cheesecake with mango ice cream, iced matcha and cappuccino. Efficient service--and delightful ambience; never a dull moment--always worth the trip!

I had been wanting to try this place for a while! I was having the biggest chocolate craving and the double mousse chocolate didn't disappoint! It's rich and creamy. Honestly can't compare it too much... but until this point I've only had think chocolate flour cakes... this doesn't have that "cake" it's mousse... But for one of my first experiences with mousse... wow... let me tell ya... I want to go back and eat it again. The workers are kind, and as I chose to dine in, the server came back several times to check in on me and see if I needed anything! Can't wait to try more items in this world of mousse!

A cute coffee and dessert cafe in Chinatown! Open late so it's a great spot to relax after a meal! There's a great selection of drinks hot and cold. The desserts are not only eye appealing but delicious! One thing to note, if you sit at one of the tables, you will get service. If you go to the counter, it will be to go service.

Super cute cafe and bakery with a HUGE selection of pastries (even late!) and teas. Service was quick and the tiramisu we ordered was packaged with care. They have cakes shaped like animals and fruit that are beyond cute. The tiramisu was very flavorful, but a little frozen, so I suggest leaving it out a little before you eat it if you take it to go.

Loved this chocolate cake so much I could keep going. Didn't feel heavy which I loved more. Not a big spot to dine in but great grab and go. Service was quick but they did run out of milkshakes which we wanted. I'd go back to get all the 5 other chocolate cakes that looked delicious

This is probably one of the best Asian cake I've had from a storefront. This specific location offers a different selections for dine-in. I've only had the cakes from take out selections and they were all good. Their fresh cream cake slices are 10/10, very light and have a perfect amount of sweetness.

Absolutely legit spot for Asian desserts: light, delicious, works of art. I went twice in one day. I would come to Philly just for these desserts and have no regrets. They're packed in the evenings, and it'll be hard to get a table. During my evening visit, we took our desserts to go and walked to the rail park and enjoyed them there.

Visited Philly for the day and wanted to try the viral pastries. À la mousse did not disappoint. The pastries were so beautifully made. And the taste was very lite but still flavorful.

Cute Asian Cafe in Chinatown Shared the earl grey cake with some friends and it was pretty decent. Light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My friends got drinks (don't remember the exact name but they were milk teas) and they said they were pretty decent. Overall this was a standard Asian Cafe/bakery but nothing stood out for me

A La Mousse is a solid dessert spot if you're in the Chinatown area. They're open late for a weekday compared to other nearby places. It was a chilly night so I went with the hot cherry blossom matcha latte. Imagine a matcha latte with notes of cherry blossom in it. It was delicious in my opinion and the best part - not too sweet. Their matcha chocolate cake is usually one of my go-to's - dark chocolate cake with matcha chocolate mousse and vanilla chantilly. Their matcha chocolate actually tastes like matcha so I'm happy about that. Great paired combination with the chocolate and vanilla. Other recommendations: coffee mousse and hazelnut mousse, and the mango. There are tables inside suitable for small groups. It was clean and spacious enough when I went there. Surprised I haven't written a review before, but I definitely recommend bc I keep coming back here whenever I'm craving dessert in Philly.

SUCH a cute dessert spot in Chinatown! We came on a Saturday evening and while it was crowded, we didn't have to wait for a table for 2. We ordered their signature mango mousse dessert, which came with a side of ice cream. The mousse was heavenly, with a thin surrounding layer of white chocolate and real mango within. They had a stunning display of other creations that I would love to come back to try!

Vainilla cake and we also had a chocolate one

I ordered two graduation cakes and they were amazing ! Not just the presentation but the cakes themselves ! Just perfect , fresh , not too sweet and so beautiful !

Are your mousse cakes made with porcine gelatin? Or is it halal friendly?

Are there any sockets to charge your laptop? Is it loud?

Very few outlets. Not an ideal place to do work or study because it's a tight space and loud. I'd recommend Mr. Deer Camp boba place nearby that is spacious and quiet.

Can i order a large whole cake one of the matcha choices or does it only come in one piece?

Yes you can order a whole cake

Where is the best place to park when coming here?

well we parked on the street . it was fine and there was a street fair going on.

Are you allowed to bring laptops and work here? Do they share their wifi password?

Just asked. You can bring laptops and work on the weekdays during day time. Wifi password can be found on a placard at the cashier.

The store itself is clean and kind of cool to look at. There's a whole wall covered in giant industrial-style on and off switches. I still wish I could have pulled one just to see what would happen. Staff was chill and genuinely helpful. They were patient while we tried to figure out which cookie was which during the ranking, and they kept the energy light and fun. We were a little late due to traffic, but our reservation was still honored. Our seating was inside and upstairs (which we appreciated b|c it rained while we were dining) Ambiance was lovely, dimly lit and romantic if you're on a date. Restaurant is family friendly!! We were quickly sat, our waiter introduced himself to us -- lovely gentleman by the name of Vincenzo?!? He was effortlessly efficient and friendly. Made our night exceptional. My cousin said it was late and she didn't want to really order anything. I talked her into ordering and then at least she could eat the leftovers for "midnight snacking" or lunch the next day. We ordered: -- Bellini: Prosecco infused peach purée -- Bread -- Scamorza -- Fire-roasted aged mozzarella, prosciutto -- Torta Granchio -- Italian crab cake infused with crab, shrimp, and mascarpone served with cucumber fresco and gastronomic roasted red pepper gelato -- Cesarina -- Kale, romaine, creamy Parmigiano dressing -- Agnolotti -- Torino-style Ravioli filled with veal, pork, and vegetables. Butter sage sauce topped with gastronomic black and white truttle gelato -- Pappardelle al Ragu -- Ribbon pasta, slow cooked pork, veal, lamb and chicken ragu (my cuzn's meal) -- Tiramisu Classico -- Lady fingers, espresso, mascarpone Everything was delicious, especially the Torta Granchio. Gran Caffè L'Aquila needs to lead with this appetizer. It was delicious. My cousin and I ordered two more to go!! Our pasta meals were decadent and delicious. We shared the tiramisu and we both agreed it was fantastic. Classic is the way to go. We left with full bellies after having wonderful conversation. We both agreed we'd be back!! 5 stars for Bud and Marilyn's? I recently gave The Love 5 stars for its fried chicken!…read more The Marilyn's Fried Chicken I had this evening was every bit as good! I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!

They definitely seem consistent, which I really appreciate. I came with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon, and wow... this place was packed. Even with the crowd, the staff stayed friendly and worked quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. One thing I still love is the seating. They have giant plushies sitting in the booths, so if you're by yourself, you're not just awkwardly staring at an empty seat across from you. Maybe I'm the only one who appreciates that, but I think it's a cute touch. The matcha here is the real deal. It's bright green, fragrant, and has that rich, earthy flavor with just enough natural bitterness that you know they're using quality matcha. A lot of places advertise matcha, but this one actually delivers. I ordered one of their matcha desserts with ice cream, and it was creamy, refreshing, and let the matcha flavor shine instead of burying it under sugar. My only complaint is that it was pretty warm inside. It was a hot summer day, and I honestly couldn't tell if the air conditioning was running or if it was just fans. Either way, it wasn't very cool inside. Thankfully I had ice cream, so it didn't bother me too much, but it's something to keep in mind if you're stopping by on a really hot day. Overall, another great visit. Friendly staff, consistently high-quality matcha, and a fun atmosphere. If you're a matcha lover, this is still one of my favorite spots in Chinatown.

I personally thought the matcha one was the best. The service was quick and informative. And I loved the little booths they had, it was adorable. That aside, I do think the drinks are mediocre. I ordered their most popular, Mango Matcha and their Hojicha Latte. Sadly I was disappointed, the mango matcha was VERY sweet, but the texture was creamy. I just couldn't get over the overpowering sweetness of the mango puree, but that's my personal preference. The mango flavor itself wasn't bad! Maybe half sweet would be the way to go, Im not sure if they do adjustments. If you love yuzu, I don't recommend their yuzu soft serve HOWEVER their matcha soft serve is pretty yummy Their Hojicha was watery...I really hoped it would be better. I don't recommend it.
