My friend is a big fan of this place is desserts, so we wanted to come and try and see how the food was. The TLDR is that the food is great but the service is lacking. I took us anywhere from 15-20 minutes after getting seated to get our waters, but once the waitress actually took our orders, the food came out quite quickly. The calamari was OK, nothing really to write home about, and I feel like the portions. I should've been slightly larger for the price. My friend got the fettuccine al tartufo which she really enjoyed, and definitely great for mushroom lovers. I got the Calabrese pizza, which was delicious, and definitely a lovely combination with the spicy hot honey and the meats. I do wish that the pizza were a bit crispy, as it's kind of felt like a fork and knife pizza. Our friend got the Donna Mena pizza, and those meatballs were generous! The cocktails were delicious - I got an aperol spritz based one, and my friend got the tiramisu espresso martini, which was excellent. After dinner, we wandered over to the bakery side, and treated ourselves to some gelato and cake for dessert. They have a lovely selection of gelato flavors, and I elected to get the amaretti one, which was delicious. The pricing for the gelato is really reasonable, at three dollars for the small size, and then our other friend got one of the chocolate cakes which he really enjoyed. Overall, the food is quite good, but don't come here if you're in a rush.

I am so excited that this wonderful new restaurant just opened up near me!! It's sooooo good!! Everything from decor, to food, to service was just fantastic. I loved the fresh homemade pastas! The truffle pasta was delicious and my boyfriend loved the seafood ravioli. I also tried it and it was to die for! I've tried the bakery as well and all of the pastries are so fresh. What I love about the interior is the bar you can sit at in front of the big wood fire pizza oven. The walls are lined with bottles of wine, and the bakery and coffee shop is attached. Just all around great vibes!! I definitely want to check out their happy hour.

I've been wanting to try this place since they opened. I had pizza and calamari to go when they first opened. Don't really like doing review from to go order so I waited until I dined inside. I remember pizza and calamari being good. Pretty busy but no waits so we got sat quickly. Someone brought water but was never told who the server was. It started rocky and not good because we sat for over 10 minutes and nobody came to our table so I finally had to ask someone who our sever was.. Then finally someone came. Ordered Ceasar salad and calamari to start. I was confused with the salad because it came on a pizza plate with huge lettuce. They were almost whole piece which made it ackward to eat. Dressing was drizzled on top so not all the lettuce got some on. Some of the large lettuce did not have dressings on them. Far as calamari it was nice and crispy outside and tender calamari inside.. Ordered Alle Vongole aka linguini with clam sauce and spaghetti e polpette ask spaghetti and meatball. Now I have to say the dish my linguini came in was little silly imo but far as the taste, it was 2nd best one I've had in the valley. Nice simple tasty dish. Spaghetti was also pretty darn good and soft flavorful meatball. Both pasta were cooked al dented which was nice. Ordered tiramisu for dessert which was not too bad. Decent amount of rum flavor, not too extra sweet. Over all the food was pretty yummy minus the salad. Little over $80 for two people. Little on the high end but taste made up for it.. I would definitely try this place again. Oh and I didn't care for the credit card sure charge they added to the bill but.. What ever.... It is what it is. Also stopped by the dessert/bakery side. Tasted the pistachio Gelato and I have to say it was pretty spot on and yummy. I will definitely come back and try that also.

Note that even though they open up early morning, their actual main restaurant does not open until 11:00am. Luckily, we did not have to wait long. This place is fairly large as it contains a cafe and bakery alongside the main restaurant. With the two of us, we paid $46 (includes tax and tip) for our meals. The rigatoni funghi was of above average quality. The environment was clean and the service amiable.

It's a warm summer day. You're sitting on a balcony near the Italian coast shaded under an umbrella. Listening to the waves gently lap the shore. The waiter drops off your prosciutto and cheese board refilling your glass of prosecco as you relax into the outdoor couch. This is the experience at A Modo Mio Cucina Italiana. For a brief moment, your taste buds are taken to those Italian shores bite after bite.

I was hearing wonderful things about this restaurant so we were looking for something new and different and decided on A Modo Mio. We came in a couple of hours before closing there's plenty of parking since this is located in the strip mall on Higley at Brown. We had no wait being seated and we had menus in our hands right away. This is one of two really nice Italian eateries and grocers across the street from one another the prices are reasonable but I wasn't really sold on the food and only because of the temperature of the food. 1. The charcuterie board consists of meats and cheeses both were really warm by the time it arrived to our table almost as if it had been sitting out all day. 2. The meatballs lacked flavor they were cooked but super bland. We ordered a cannoli for dessert that wasn't too bad but the filling for that was a little on the warm side. The server was nice, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. You see the staff staying busy and the have a beautiful bakery and gelato area and what looks to be a wine tasting area for customers. My recommendation is maybe keep the charcuterie board refrigerated until the other half of the order is ready to go out i don't anticipate returning anytime soon there's too many other Italian food options on that corner.

Service was great! Wish there was a kids menu and you can create your own bruschetta like have a sample plate of 3. Bruschetta was good, wish the bread was toasted and cheese warm. The pizza is super thin you have to eat with a fork and knife, but great crust and flavor!! The margarita was so good! We will be back to try more of the menu and go to the dessert side. Clean and spacious, tables aren't close together.

    Don't Enrico pizza was DELICIOUS!

Another fun brunch today at A Modo Mio! Today our bartender/server was Izzi! We enjoyed the Calzone and Don Rico pizza, along with Pineapple Mimosas and my Favorite Beer Mosa! We love the ambiance and will definitely keep this on our list of go to places!!

Walking in the girls working that day were so friendly and helpful. I ordered an assortment of pastries. Prices are fair and there's so many options to choose from it's a bit overwhelming because I'm indecisive and want to try everything lol The pastries were all fresh and the ingredients were as well. The cream fillings in the pastries were fluffy and light. I wish the strawberry choux bun had a stronger strawberry flavor as it really tasted like just cream as well as the pistachio pastry. We ordered a few different things to give a fair review, and honestly overall this place is just ok. Not horrible, just not that great. We had.. *sausage roll * ham and Swiss *cinnamon roll (regular) *cookies and cream cup cake *raspberry pop tart *chocolate chip cookie Sausage roll pastry dough was good, but the meat inside was not very flavorful. Ham and Swiss, the ham was just a single thin slice of deli meat. The cinnamon roll also missing something... maybe more sugar and better quality cinnamon? Perhaps salt in the dough? I'm not sure how they prepare theirs but definitely looked better than it tasted. Raspberry pop tart was my favorite item! Husband had no complaints on the cupcake.

We've only been to the one in Old Town Mesa, by the fine art theater. Just glad its not next door, because I'd start living there! Not to sound like a hoity toity food snob, (kind of like when someone says they are not a "conspiracy theorist," but then they go into great lengths about conspiracies -- I'll be a snob here. Their pastries and breads are next level. They aren't just baking an excellent product (which would be enough to make me happy in area that lacks artisan bakers) they are "crafting" baking art. I hate to compare to the European Bakery craft (because there are plenty of great American bakers) but Europe does have that as a trademark (at least France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.) If all I ate eat each day was one of their croissants, it would be enough - theirs just flake away from the outside, and then a tender airy sourdough inside. Pain au Chocolate - excellent. I know they're vegetarian, but I wanted to double check with her. She responds as "vegetarian means no meat, right"? All employees working at a food establishment should know what vegetarian means. This was quite baffling to hear. I asked her for a new slice because the one that was out on display was visibly burned and the other slice was touching pepperoni from the meat pizza. As mentioned, I'm a vegetarian. Therefore, I could not have either one of those slices. She proceeds to say that's how the pizzas are. They are slightly burned because they are so sourdough. While I can accept this answer, I do not accept the fact that she would not be willing to give me another slice as a paying customer. She insensitively said she can't give me a new one until all the old slices are taken up. She mentioned that this is their procedure. According to this, they are saying that they will not provide a proper product unless the old, damaged product, or unacceptable by the customer is used up first. If this is their business model, then it is apparent they do not value customer service. This business should have the competence to understand that if they want to sell a product, they cannot sell it in a condition that the customer is not satisfied with. Most importantly, being a vegetarian, they should have the sensitivity to understand that if a slice is touching the meat product then they cannot consume it. And again, the employee completely disregarded my health and religious beliefs by not accommodating me. You usually won't encounter problems when you're just trying to buy bread. However, it reflects on the business's employees greatly when there is a problem and they do not value customer service by resolving or accommodating the customer's satisfaction. I will be switching to Noble exclusively. Especially since it's so readily available at the farmers markets and stores.
