He didn't ring the buzzer or text me or attempt to reach me any other way, just left. Then he called me a few mins later and said he wasn't coming because I didn't answer and he'd moved on. I've been sitting here all afternoon waiting for him and it was too much effort to get out of his truck and buzz my apartment. He even chuckled when I told him how frustrating this was. I said "do you think this is funny" and he said "yeah". I was warned to stay away from Safelite and I realize now why. Totally unprofessional.

Let me just start by saying this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to give a review. I…read morereally felt it was absolutely necessary to warn anyone who values their car about this 'business'. I went to Majestic to have my brand new car's windows tinted. I decided upon Majestic because they gave me the best quote. Side note: Be warned that I was given two different quotes from the same person. One quote for $150 and then a quote for $180. Very shady. They ended up honoring the $150 quote when I called them on it. In hindsight, I see that you definitely get what you pay for. Before I brought my car in I spoke with the receptionist and a technician at Majestic TWICE to be assured that they would be able to properly apply tint to my car since it has a dot matrix in the top of the back window. I had researched and discovered issues with applying tint to dot matrixes, so I wanted to be sure that they knew what they were doing before they put anything on my car. I was assured that it would not be a problem. I was also assured in person that it would not be a problem when I brought my car in. I told them over and over that if they did not know how to apply the film to the dot matrix, to please not attempt it. The install took about 3 hours (longer than the 2 hours I was quoted, but not too bad). I paid the $150 and went to view the work. The side windows looked fine, however the back window with the dot matrix was the UGLIEST thing I had ever seen as far as tint jobs go. Already, the film was bubbling all over the dot matrix and there were tons of soap suds stuck between the windshield and the back window brake light. I was livid. Mind you, this is my brand new car. I brought the state of the tinting to the attention of the technician and he tried to tell me that the bubbles in the tint would "fix themselves" over the next two days and the soap suds would dry clear. Complete BS! By the time I drove home (I live 5 minutes away) the tint was already peeling off of the dot matrix. I mean completely coming off! At this point I also noticed that my leather back seats were covered in the soap solution that they use during the tinting process, and there was also a fixture that connects to my front window that had not been properly re-installed after they removed it to put on the film. This was completely unacceptable. I took the car back to Majestic first thing Monday morning as they were closed for the weekend and had them remove everything. The only good thing that came out of this is that they did not attempt to argue with me about a refund because they could see that this was the worst tinting in history. Of course it sucked that I had to waste another two hours of my day while they removed it, but I was happy to have the crappy job un-done. Today I took my car to be re-tinted by a shop with a better reputation (more expensive, but I learned a lesson about being cheap). The technician pointed out a few things before he got started: 1) Of course, the residue left from the soap which was stuck between the glass and brake light, 2) the glue that was not properly cleaned out of the dot matrix when Majestic removed it, and 3) a friggin' scratch in my rear view window glass where Majestic apparently used the wrong type of razor blade when cutting out the shape of the tint and ended up cutting a deep scratch in my glass! I cannot believe the level of unprofessional service that I received from Majestic. As I said, this is my first review, but I really feel it is necessary to warn others. Lastly, I learned from my new technician (who is doing a great job) that Majestic uses sub-par tinting film. He knows because he used to buy film from them until his customers would come back 6 months later because their tint was turning purple. That being said...avoid this place like the plague! They wasted hours of my time and caused damage to my vehicle. Had I not said anything about the state of my tint job, Majestic would have let me drive off without saying anything was wrong. It was obvious that the job was not done correctly, and it says a lot about the integrity of the business when its technician will let a customer leave with their car in that state. Do yourself a favor and pay $50-75 more and get a great tint job with a real warranty (not just the receipt that Majestic gives you as a warranty)! My current technician is giving me 2 warranties (one for his install and one for the tint film manufacturer) and a copy of the current Illinois tinting law requirements. I really wish I could give negative stars...lol.
