I have been getting my nails done professionally for over 30 years now and I have FINALLY found one that doesn't drill on my nails like they have no feeling or like that drill set to high going back and forth doesn't heat up and burn you. I paid 105 dollars for manicure and pedicure. I ended up going to the doctor because my two big toes were aching and inflamed... i saw good reviews which the customer service was good however, during the gel application on my manicure my real nail was tingly a burning sensation ... the doctor says my big toes now has an infection due to the pedicure might even cause an ingrown toe nail ... so thank you ... I literally never leave reviews. I'd leave NO stars if I could. Ever! Soooo for me to leave a review, this is a big deal. I walked in and the female owner I'm assuming immediately had an attitude when I told her I was doing regular polish. I own 3 businesses and I have never seen or been treated in this fashion. The female was aggressive with me and was quick to yell at me when I was asking questions, and explaining this is my first time here. I originally was going to do a pedicure but when I set down I realized there's no menu, and she was behaving antagonizing. I should have recorded it. The woman Exclaimed, you don't need to wear shoes you need to wear sandals all the time! Or you get Gel it's better for you. She even rolled her eyes, when I again said, No I'll get regular. This was a terrible experience. I told the man I wanted just a polish change so I can leave quickly. He was doing a poor job at removing the polish and got it on my skin, I then asked him if he was going to clean it up at the end, because of the language barrier he said no, lol... no big deal to me, then the Husband of the woman stepped in and came over and said NO. I repeated my self again and the Husband understood me, and he said Yes we will get the polish off your skin. I said Thank you. This was all going on while the wife was literally yelling at me about doing a polish change instead of a pedicure, she also proceeded to tell me, If I don't like it, I can leave... I told her she was extremely rude, and to stop yelling at me. I also told her, and I quote " please Stop taking to me", you are being extremely rude and aggressive and it's about to upset me". Once the man was done painting my toes, I got up to pay. 0 communication, the owner/ wife wants to yell and argue. I even explained to her, I'm a customer, I've been getting my nails done for the last 20 years and I have never seen a business as such, whom treat there customers like this. I'm from Cali, and I know VA is a little different but it's still a place of business. You don't yell at customers, and tell them what there going to pick. It was too much, and they do a poor job on color changing. I changed my color to the same color and it looks botched. I almost forgot to mention, there was a 5 year old child and her mother there whom witnessed it all. I believe my temper stayed in check because I would never want my child to see me stoop as low as the owner Woman/ Wife of the store. So I saw the reviews and was like ok since my usual nail salon was booked and I really needed my nails done. I got there at 545 (they take their last person at 630), after about 15 minutes I was seated to get my color soaked off. However, after 20+ minutes of soaking (in which I scrapped the polish off myself) and a cut down of my nails I ended leaving with nothing done as it was almost 8pm. They only have 3 people working and are very slow. I honestly won't be coming back. Only pro is they didn't charge for the soak off (acetone) and cut down. read more

I got a full set done at this business and I had 3 nails fall off within 3 days. The day of our appointment my 2 friends and I called and they told us to come in. I had to wait and hour and 30 minutes before I was seated, while people that came after me were seen. My friend was CUT while getting her nails done, and the employee offered no apology, she said, " Don't look until I'm done" . My employee, the owner, sped through my nails( only taking 20 minutes, which is ridiculous. ) My nails were BURNING while she applied the acrylics. My pointer finger nails were crooked. When I called about my nails falling off, they told me to come in and they would fix it for free. I called multiple times a day, for a few days after, attempting to set an appointment. I came in finally after not being able to reach them, and I was told that I had to pay. After mentioning I was disappointed with the service, I was then cussed out by the owner, who told me to go F**k myself. This business is NOT CLEAN!!!! They picked nail tips off the GROUND and put them back in their containers, like they're new. They reused nail bits, and nail clippers. I also saw no sanitation of nail stations or the drying station. NO COVID MEASURES! I will be taking this to the Health Department. read more

Everyone was very nice. But that's not the problem for me. I came from a small town with an absolutely amazing salon that did the best work. My nails NEVER fell off. I use to only get my nails done once a month I got them filled here at A nails and im in day 10 and have lost 2 nails. It is not good quality. They try and cover it with being polite. The owner kept asking how it was and if I was enjoying i said yes to be polite. And it was but the price I paid for the over all quality was not worth it. I will sadly not be returning even though they gave me a certificate to come back. I'm sorry but it is not worth returning. Went to go get my nails done here on a whim after reading a review that they were decent. I read in the previous post that this was a hidden gem and they were right. I needed a fill in and the location was not far from my house. When your particular about your nails like I am, your iffy on trying a new spot. The place was nothing fancy or special but the customer service was great. They guy that did my nails was so patient and kind, he took his time on my nails and got every nook and cranny just the way I like. Now that could be because I went on a Tuesday vs a weekend day,but who cares I was very satisfied with my nails and I will definitely be back ! I'm new to the area & my usual nail tech is always booked so I decided to give A Nails a try based on the reviews and stars. Other salons in the area have 2 stars or below. I went in on a Sunday. There were two nail techs with a customer in the chair. I waited for 45 minutes or so before getting serviced. While waiting there were several roaches crawling near my chair so I moved to the other side of the waiting area. The price was reasonable compared to other salons in the city and but the quality is just not worth the savings. My nails look terrible. They are thick, uneven, and painful. The acrylic was not filed down on the sides so it's pushing against my skin. My finger nail is sticking out under the acrylic so water/moisture could easily get under the nail bed and acrylic & cause fungus to grow. It's almost impossible to find a good salon these days. When she got them done she waited over an hour for them to take only 20 minutes to rush through the entire set. While she was there all of the employees were very demanding. Friday afternoons and Saturdays are probably the busiest days.. I have been during the week as well. During the week, its typically a more individualized scene.
