I've heard great things about this place and was excited to hear that my company chose it for a team dinner. I didn't realize how large Roosters is - we were seated in a private function room far past the main dining area. We had two ables of about 15 people. Each course was served to us shared plate/tapas style, which was nice to be able to try a little bit of everything! They did have a beer/wine/cocktail menu and I had a couple glasses of sparkling rose. They were crisp and delicious! As far as the courses - warm bread, bruschetta, and a charcuterie plate to start - I especially liked the cured meat and cheeses on the charcuterie board. The bruschetta delicious drizzle/glaze and pesto? spread. The main course included filet medallions, chicken, salmon, asparagus, and potatoes - plus a couple extra things I can't remember! Lastly the dessert was a bread pudding with ice cream and black forest case. Oh my god. Scrumptious. I'm so happy I got to check this place out, and as part of a teambuilding event is just the icing on top. Service was prompt, friendly - refills were quick and staff was attentive. I would definitely like to come back with friends for a less formal/corporate evening- ha!
Had dinner here recently with a friend while in town on business. The hostess stand is immediately to the left walking in, dark tones throughout give this eatery a upscale vibe. Very busy location and reservations are necessary. Reservations at 7:30, Greeted within a couple minutes of walking in at straight up 7:30, our table was not ready and we were offered a seat while waiting, and finally seated within ten minutes or so, an apparent overlap in booking. While at the bar, we ordered a bottle of Filette Sparkling water. It was later delivered to our table. We started with the duck confit ravioli appetizer, a beautiful presentation, round pasta stuffed with confit duck, topped with wilted Kale, micro sprouts and a delicious sauce. Plenty of raviolis to share and a very tasty app it was a solid start to our meal. We both wanted seafood and decided on the Golden Tile with risotto. Each plate was presented with a nice portion of nicely seared white flaky filet, atop a creamy serving of risotto.The fish was cooked very well and the flavor was light, well seasoned and buttery. This is an Ala Carte menu so sides are additional, there are the standards as well as seasonals, we opted for two of the seasonals, first the Grilled Purple star carrots, tasty but a bit over cooked. Some were even burnt that the flavor ran into charred and bitter. Second side, the Market mushooms, this side was outstanding. The shrooms were sauteed beautifully and a generous portion. Of the two, it was the better dish. We rounded out our dinner with a beautiful Tyler Sonoma Chardonnay, light, full bodied buttery and a great choice for the night. We ended it was the coconut cake for dessert, to go. This was a really nice coconut rich layered cake, and was a great finish once we got home. All in all, a solid choice even with the little hiccups. 4 Stars worth making reservations and a visit. 01047
I visited Roosters while in Winston Salem for the holidays and found it while searching for good local places to eat. Overall, it was a really nice restaurant with solid food. While my meal didn't blow me away (except for the tomato bisque - more to come on that), I would love to return to try other items on the menu. I mostly gave it a 4-star rating because of that tasty tomato bisque. I would definitely come back for more! Roosters is described as upscale, but I'm not sure I'd call it that. It's really nice and beautifully decorated, but it doesn't give me white tablecloth vibes. That might be because we went during brunch which felt more relaxed and less formal. The restaurant is very spacious with plenty of room for dining - great for dates or catching up with friends. It wasn't too crowded so you might not need reservations but we had them just in case. Our server was great! She made sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. She gave us excellent recommendations on food and drinks which made our experience even better. For my meal, I ordered the tomato bisque, and the crab cake benedict w/ potatoes. The highlight was definitely the tomato bisque so much so I even ordered some to go! It was full of flavor and they add cheese to it that makes even more creamy and yummy. The crab benedict was good, but there are other items on the menu that caught my eye and I plan to try them next time. I also had a few of drinks which were really good. Overall my experience at Roosters was good! I really enjoyed the tomato bisque and the food was good enough to make me want to come back and try more. It's definitely worth a visit!
I had the fried oysters salad for brunch and it was so good! I ate it all and got full that I didn't have any room for dessert. We were a big group and service was good. Server knows the items on the menu, except she forgot to let us know that they were out of the crab cake Benedict before we started ordering. Everyone liked their food, though someone had to return theirs because the toast was a little burnt. The manager came and it was graciously replaced. Shrimp and grits might be too greasy for some, as my friend noted. I didn't try it but it looked good to me! Good atmosphere, with a big patio and several options for dining in.
Was excited to try Rooster's as I've always heard good things, but was let down by the overall food quality/taste for the process point. Overall, the food was just okay. Personal preference, the starter bread wasn't my favorite and just tasted like loaf bread with plain olive oil offered for dipping. I ordered a wood fired pizza, while my two friends ordered crab cake and fried oyster salad. I felt the pizza was lacking in overall flavor but was a good serving size. The crab cake portion was pretty small and the salad only had a few oysters, for the price point of both of these items I expected more. For dessert, we got crème brûlée and bread pudding to share. The creme brûlée was the highlight of the meal for me, perfectly toasted and delicious, the bread pudding was lacking in flavor and only came with a small dollop of gelato. My drink was also a highlight and it was delicious! I got the royal 75. Perfectly strong and not overly sweet. I believe that after visiting, the price point is for the ambiance. It was one of the nicer places I've been in this area and it was beautiful. The server was very soft spoken however, and hard to hear above the overall noise in the restaurant. However, she was very kind and attentive! The menu is very confusing for food. There is not set appetizer area or main food area. A friend I was with mentioned they used to do half plates but that is no longer offered. Overall just not impressed for the high price and likely won't visit again!
Initially as you walk in the restaurant seems lively and the hostesses were friendly. We had a reservation and it was our anniversary so they had put some ribbon on the table to help celebrate which was a nice touch. The decorations were appealing but nothing that was over the top incredible. We both ordered a glass of wine and I found the wine list to be comprehensive and I appreciated that they offered multiple local options. For my meal I ordered the shrimp and grits. I found the flavor to be fantastic but found the grits to be somewhat course. Overall, the dish was enjoyable I just wish the grits were a bit finer texture. We were pleasantly surprised that they offered us a complimentary dessert to help celebrate our anniversary and selected the creme brulee. This was delicious and came with candles to help make it a little more special. Overall, our experience was a good one and the food was good but not the best I have ever had. I would definitely come back but likely try something new from the menu.
Some great farm to table food and some ingredients are from their garden on site. I've been here a few times but it had been a while so I was excited to go back. The service was truly top notch from the time we walked in until the time we walked out. I asked about mocktails and the server told me I could do bartenders choice and to just give her a hint of what I like. This is always fun so I get to try different things! It was also presented beautifully The food was also presented beautifully and it all tasted delicious. We started with the fried oysters and each of our meals were top notch and the desserts were no different.
Five months in and already have one of my favorite bites of 2023 - these delicious scallops. Seared, topped with black garlic caviar, and served with a mushroom salad and gochujang aioli - pure perfection. We also tried their duck which was served with green garlic ricotta and pickled blueberries. Everything was so well balanced and I loved sitting at the bar with the sweetest bartenders.
Ok so let me start by saying the food and service were delicious, the prices are a bit much though that's the only reason for the score. The French fries were so well seasoned and the salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. We had a group of 15 and our sever was amazing! The atmosphere is very relaxed casual but semi upscale. The prices are all a la carte with sides being between $8-13 so it's not a place where you can go for a cheap meal but definitely a good tasting one!
Wonderful brunch with friends. Our server was fantastic and food came out timely and cooked to order. Great menu with choices for everyone! We can't wait to return.
We ate here for the first time last night and it was absolutely amazing! We sat in their outdoor area which was very pleasant, the whole place is very classy and upscale looking. We ordered a huge amount of food and everything was awesome. While this place is a tad on the pricey side, for a special occasion it's a great choice and with careful ordering it could be relatively affordable. The portions were all good, nothing was so skimpy that it felt like a ripoff. We really enjoyed our meal here! Highly recommend. As the menu is seasonally rotated it's hard to recommend a specific dish but everything we had was made to perfection. For example the wedge salad which has dressing distributed through every layer of the lettuce, great attention to detail and all of the ingredients were clearly the best possible. Bring your wallet but go and enjoy a more fine dining type meal here, it was worth it!
First time eating dinner at Roosters. Highly recommend reservations. We ate inside which was nice but crowded and very loud. My daughter ordered the bbq half chicken. I ordered a salmon with a side salad. Hubby also ordered the half chicken. When the chicken came, the waiter told my daughter that the yellowish liquid was bbq sauce. Hobby's chicken came with a brown sauce....? My salad had no dressing. It was also less than half the size of the arugula salad hubby got but was charged the same price......? When I asked for some dressing the waiter brought the same dressing my daughter had for her chicken. To say the least my daughter didn't like the chicken with the champagne vinaigrette dressing on it. What she was really looking forward to was eating the macaroni and cheese. It should've been called cream macaroni, and cream. On the plus side, my salmon was flavorful and cooked correctly. My husband's chicken tasted good. I'm sure we will try to come back again someday for a second try.
We arrived just at they opened on a Monday. We were greeted with a warm smile by the host and our table service was perfect, very attentive and checked in on us frequently. Our meals were delicious and we made time for the bread pudding (which takes 25 minutes). Totally worth the wait. Although it was early, the atmosphere was just what we needed then (quiet, cozy,& warmly lit).
Updating my 2017 review. Went here for dinner recently and had a great time. Service was top notch. Food was right on point. The interior looks great, including the bar area. The rotisserie chicken comes in different cuts, I got the quarter chicken, natural versus BBQ. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The grits w/ bacon was very good. Note, not only is there bacon but also whole kernels of corn in the grits. It's a little different than grits at other places. The dessert we ordered was chocolate tart and a coconut cake. Both were excellent but the chocolate tart was much better. Very nice beer, wine and cocktail menus. Just some notes. - A Noble Grille is on the higher end of the dinning spectrum. Not crazy expensive but higher than normal. - Though upscale, you don't have to dress up. I would suggest pants though for guys. - Sides are sold separately. - There's a lot of options on the menu, so something for everyone - Recommend Open Table to make a recommendation. read more
A noble grill was good for brunch, but not the best I've ever had. The space is upscale and clean and our server was wonderful albeit she did just about read us the entire menu. I'm really into tomato bisque right now and that was terrific. The shrimp and grits were also good but the grits were a little too firm for my liking. In all it's a place I would revisit to try more items off the menu! read more

Patio is great for special events. I have eaten here many times and didn't realize there was outdoor space . Went today for a wedding shower , and the catering and set up were beautiful. The food was delicious , and the cupcakes they made were some of the best I've ever eaten. read more

We were seated on the patio, the wood chips from the fire were really strong and the seats were uncomfortable. Inside the restaurant looked really nice. The food was good, I wish there had been half of the potatoes and some fruit added for the savory/sweet balance. The crab cake Benny was delicious but the breakfast wasn't balanced, a little fruit would have made it perfect! My company got the french toast and they said it was delicious but the eggs were too peppery. They liked them, they just didn't love them. The service was good, our waitress was a little quirky and chatty but seemed sweet, the decor theme is Farmhouse and it's perfect for a farm to table restaurant. I also like the name. read more

For an "upscale" establishment-I would give it a basic status... service was good, but food was not anything exciting or different like you may find with classier restaurants. Do not expect a nice "twist" on the food-they use very basic bland recipes. I suspect they aim to please a basic pallet (similar to recipes served in hospitals/care facilities). read more

We were there Saturday night for a birthday dinner and arrived early to have drinks at the bar. The bartenders were so friendly and the drink that I ordered was so yummy! Our reservations were scheduled on the patio, however it was unexpectedly rainy and cold. They were able to move our group inside to a bar table and were so kind about doing so. We ordered more drinks. I ordered shrimp and grits with a side of Mac and cheese to share with the hubby-my food was delish. The Mac was in a cast iron skillet and whatever cheese they use was on point! My hubby went all in for the filet mignon with asparagus and skillet potatoes. The sides were good! However the 5th star was lost with the steak-he ordered it rare and it arrived a bit overdone with a Gray color to it. The sauce was good, but for the price the steak was a bit disappointing. My wife and I went last night for a friends birthday. I had to act like I didn't care because it was an all girls birthday but on the inside I was jumping for joy because I have been wanting to go to this amazing restaurant for years! We got there and the place was smaller than I thought, but there was still space to be comfortable. I loved the leather weave chair we had. Leather is always a plus for me! I had the filet with confit potatoes and asparagus. My wife got their famous shrimp and grits. The steak...the steak...the steak was AMAZING!! Perfectly cooked, beautiful sear, and wonderful plating. I ate it slow and savored this moment in gastrointestinal ecstasy! After dinner we had the Courvoisier sauced bread pudding, with the gelato. I also had a spiced latte touched with a little whiskey! It was glorious! We were so satisfied! The bill came out to be $240 for the three of us (Our daughter was with us) so yeah it's pricey but hot dang the food was worth it! read more

A Noble Grille is the perfect spot for any special occasion, family lunch, or event. The wait staff is usually very professional and helpful. Honestly, I haven't ordered anything that I didn't enjoy. I will say that pricing is fairly high, but it is worth it for the atmosphere and quality of food. read more

I got the $70 filet and there was no flavor at all on of mash potato's same thing I had to ask for salt... I let me boyfriend try to make sure I wasn't crazy but I just feel like for the price it should be seasoned better than that read more
Honestly, I love this place. This was my second weekend here in a row and I loved it. Tried to put some more variation of things on our table from the menu, especially ordering the charcuterie board and nothing disappointed. Everything had so much flavor and I loved each dish more by the minute. Totally recommend to anyone! Also!!!! If you ever see lamb tartare on the menu....GET IT. It will change your life read more

My fiancé and I ate here the other night to celebrate our anniversary. This is a restaurant I had been wanting to try for awhile, and am very glad we finally made it here! I ordered a glass of red wine and it paired well with my food, the bolognese. I thought the bolognese was delicious and I would definitely order it again. The food came out extremely quickly which was nice, however, our waitress didn't check on us much so we sat waiting for quite a long time after our food was delivered. We were gifted a free dessert for celebrating our anniversary which was super nice, we ordered the crème brûlée. read more
We bailed on another restaurant after waiting 15 minutes and no one came to our table. What a more professional and upbeat restaurant at Nobles. So glad we left the other place and gave Nobles another try after many years. The outdoor seating was perfect with various plants and herbs planted throughout. The calamari was perfect and of course their oyster salad was also. I had the trout and it was cooked perfectly. We didn't have room for dessert but the menu looked great. Thank you! Stellar high end restaurant. They set the bar high in all areas. Great seating and outside seating. Amazing bar. Fabulous service and food. Great wine list. Beautifully decorated for Christmas with several trees and a very Holiday feel ! Max was out very sweet attentive server, loved him ! Celebrating birthday! So we went all out with champagne! Delicious and cold . You can't go wrong with Veuve . The margarita pizza started us off deliciously. Lovely crispy crust and fresh mozzarella. Love this . Thin and light great appetizer. I went for the pasta special which was bolognese. Absolutely delicious. Nice flavor on the sauce and and the meat was exceptional. Hearty and comfort food like. My friend had the meatloaf with succotash and sweet potato purée. Again very good. Great presentation too. Their entrees all looked amazing . Dessert was the fall spice cheesecake. Loved this. Creamy, cinnamon flavor. Great ginger crust. But light as well . I know that doesn't make sense with cheesecake !! Overall Roosters as it's now called is a great place for special occasions and just a very nice place to go for lunch or dinner. The bar area is a place I'd like to sit next time . Noble Grille for me just has never really hit me right. The few times we've been we have had subpar service, and overall while the food here is fantastic, it comes with the appropriate price. I do believe in you get what you pay for, but this is one of the places I feel like I pay 200% more for a 20% better experience. Yes what you find here to eat is going to be great! It's well-prepared food, and appropriately high-end. It just obviously comes with the price to match. And while that can be expected, I find in the times we've been here the cost has exceeded my impression of the food. I think if I'd ever done steak, maybe that would be better, but a lot of the seafood or even lower end options like burgers just didn't strike me with any impact. It was all very palatable and tasty, but it just had no special punch. It feels like it's trying too hard to just be a casual upscale eatery that everyone will enjoy. And there's room for that, but for me I just don't feel any draw to it. We eat there often enough. My father-in-law really enjoys it, probably for the reasons we don't. I can't say I'm ever disappointed in the food. I just usually end up forgetting it. The menu is disorganized with certain things coming with sides and others not even when many of the dishes are similar and listed next to each other (and typically would at other restaurants). Several of us at my grandfather's birthday party ended up having that point come up where the waitress had to go over it a couple times. The wait staff can either be extremely evasive or understaffed. Something I don't get in much more appropriately priced places. Between that and the food simply being above average casual food with limited unique character (albeit locally sourced) when combined with the atmosphere being high-end villa, the price here to me has always just felt like "the cost of admission" to dine away from those who can't afford it rather than a true high end experience. read more

This restaurant had good food and was really nice. The atmosphere and ambience was similar to a steakhouse and had a very nice wine selection. The food also tasted very good and was cooked perfectly. The restaurant has valet parking as well as a garage to park in. The easiest form of transportation would be Uber or using valet services. Over all, a very nice restaurant for a business dinner or a special event. read more

We had a financial services luncheon at Rooster's A Noble Grille last week and it was my first time going to this beautiful space. Can't wait to go back for a nice dinner sometime soon since it was a working meeting. I just kept it basic but the bisque, salad and Crème Brûlée were on point! read more
