It's been a while since I have such a nicely made Banh Mi, especially from a place whose title doesn't seem to even indicate they sell them there. We got the Pork and Beef one, and I have to say the Pork one was definitely the best of the two. The meat was juicy and tender, and the sauce they marinated them in was bonus on top. The veggies were fresh, and the bread was honestly one of my favorites because it is still nice and crunchy, but does not flake so much to the point you inhale all of the flakes. Banh mi is always my go-to for a hot day when I want something light, refreshing but filling. Visiting my hometown Temecula, I wasn't expecting to see this place pop up so close by but I was so excited to try it based on reviews!! And I'm pleased to say that I will DEFINITELY be returning every time I'm in town. MY ORDER: I ordered the grilled chicken banh mi. As pictured, I ordered it TO-GO and didn't unwrap it to eat until about 30 minutes later which is why the edges of the bread look slightly moist, but it was still SO YUMMY (and did not feel soggy while eating), esp since it sat for a while. Usually I get pork or beef but I was feeling chicken today. Perfectly juicy and the seasoning was chef's kiss . I also personally don't like when banh mi places put a bunch of mayo on it and I appreciated that they didn't. Overall it was a delicious lunch that I would get again for sure! One thing is that I do wish the baguette was toastier/crispier. Typically even after sitting for a while, banh mi bread stays crunchier. I did notice that the menu said "French-style" baguette though, so maybe this is why it was softer than the typical banh mi bread. One other personal preference of mine is that I'm used to a high veggie-to-meat proportion, where I felt like here it was more meat so I couldn't taste them as much as I am used to (esp the daikon). HOWEVER, I know that others would prefer more meat! Also now that I know, the next time I'll request that from the person making it since it's kind of like a chipotle style place (I wasn't paying attention this time). So excited to try the bowls and soup in the future when I'm looking for a larger meal!! AMBIANCE/SERVICE: I really like the inside as well. It felt simple and CLEAN but still colorful and bright. Overall good vibes and the staff member that helped me was also nice! I also really like the "noodle story" concept of this place and I hope in the future they can lean more into that with the decor!! :) Last little note is that I'm super happy to see an Asian-owned business with great food open so close by in Temecula! Very hip little shop! I had a pork banh mi and it was delicious and reasonably priced. Very generous cuts of good quality meat. And I loved their little condiment bar! Food always tast amazing. Made fresh every time. The customer service is definitely on point. My husband and our friend ate there Nd bought 3 to go soups, 1 being with curry soup and 2 with pho. Unfortunately 3 curry soup were accidentally sent. I would normally let it go because their curry soup taste amazing! However, the pho was for the children and they've been waiting. I called, and without hesitation, the lady said come back and we will pour you two new soup bowls for pho. Im only 10-12 min away and once I got there, it was ready but was still popping hot. Incredible experience here. We're always on the hunt for good, healthy Asian cuisine and this place delivers. The pork and beef they served on their banh mi and in their rice bowls was flavorful, tender, and had a nice subtle char to them. The lychee drink we had was light and refreshing without being too sweet. I especially appreciated their sauce bar as I love having Nuoc Cham (a sweet/sour/spicy/umami condiment made with fish sauce) available when enjoying Vietnamese cuisine. Southeast Asian food can feel a bit esoteric and even intimidating for those that are unfamiliar, however everything we had here felt authentic yet it was packaged in a modern, approachable setting. The service was personable, engaged, and we noticed that they worked hard to keep the restaurant clean and ready for the constant flow of diners. For us, the most memorable restaurants are the places that take pride in the food and experiences they create. The pride this team puts into what they do is tangible. The first time, we dined in and ordered Chapter 1: Build My Own Bowl (the pork was delicious!), along with egg rolls and crab Rangoons. Everything was flavorful, the portions were generous, and the prices were great. The service was also excellent--the staff took the time to explain how to order, and later, the owner even came by to check on us, which was a nice touch. The second time, I called in a takeout order. The girl on the phone was friendly, and when I picked up my food, the staff was just as welcoming. This place is incredible. I'm always skeptical of places with perfect reviews, but we have gone three times in the past 2 weeks and we can't get enough! I finally got to try Noodle Story! The place is cute. Service is friendly. My husband had the banh mi and enjoyed it. I had the tofu salad bowl and lychee lemonade which I enjoyed immensely. I love the pickled carrots and the tofu. This is my new favorite place. There is not many Vietnamese places here in Temecula, so this is a great place to satisfy your Viet food craving!
