My car was on a minor acciden, was drivable still looked good just for minor damages...took it in on a Friday mistake!!! Over all they did a good job till now have to see if color paint doesn't change in the future ANYWAY my only advise is TAKE DOWN your miles I'm 100% sure they drove my car over 300 miles so they took it for a good drive VERY unhappy!!! Also they broke my spare tired lash WHY??? have no idea why they would even be in my trunk??? my damage were in the front!! I scheduled an oil transmission change/ car maintenance. They are very responsive via phone. The mechanics were able to speedily service my car while I waited in their lobby. They ended up charging me lower than I was originally quoted and also explained to me in detail the maintenance the mechanic did to my car. I will return. Finally I found a place where I can continue to get my truck serviced. Andy was great! Responsive, transparent, honest and made the process with my warranty smooth. I had a horrible experience with another place and the way they handled my warranty claims and just did not want to deal with my truck's warranty at all. But this place made it easy for me. My warranty does not cover basic maintenance and I do have a mechanic that serviced my truck but did not deal with warranty claims so I am just going to go here because it is nice to have everything done in one place and better for the truck's maintenance in general so I will take it here if I need anything for sure. They are very busy but Andy always returned my calls and let me know what was going on... nothing rushed is a good sign and I am a patient person. A-One literally saved the day! I got home late and my window would not close. I was super panicked knowing it was basically Friday, going into a weekend, not knowing what was wrong with my car and how to fix it. I got a couple of estimates from other local mechanics (first thing in the morning) that just seemed really, really steep. Just took my Ford Fusion 2016 SE ecoboost to get serviced for an entire engine replacement (drivetime sold me a lemon!) and they were so understanding and even made the process a lot faster than I thought, it only took 1 week and a half when it could've taken a lot longer! First - I didn't have to wait any extra time because of Covid-19 related hassles; second my car was ready in under 1/3 the estimated time! Peter & crew are superb mechanics, and handled all timing problems with my warranty provider (I had timing delays on my end because I'm disabled). They are also an approved Carvana/Silverrock service center and Porsche certified - which was another delay issue, as none of the service centers Silverrock provided would work on my newly-purchased 2011 Porsche Boxster 987 - NONE were Porsche certified or approved. So *I* eventually found Porsche - certified A-1 locally, spoke with Peter Kwon, and he handled getting A-1 set up with Carvana/Silverrock for both mechanical AND bodywork - the Carvana rep found some paint cracks on the rear bumper during delivery that had not been disclosed, and the 987 was originally an east coast car & needed the legally-required (in California) front license plate. He didn't let Silverrock talk him into the cheapest license plate bracket, either - he asked ME which type of mounting I wanted and told them what he was ordering. And as far as the rear paint cracks, touchup of the left license surround would have resulted in a color mismatch - so they proceeded to repair and paint the entire central bumper area, including an area I seem to recall was disclosed on the listing - and I was not charged a dime! I glanced at the rates for the warranty service and they appeared to be lower than the "flat rate" book rates I had researched just out of curiosity. Plus they must have called me half a dozen times to keep me updated. I had been told by other shops (before they found out they could not work on a 987) that I'd be without the car for 2 to 2 1/2 weeks; A-1 had it for a little over 3 days! I worked as a specialty foreign car mechanic when I was in college and it's a different ballgame than Ford, Chevy - and the high production (many made in the US) Nissan, Toyota and others - everything is more complicated and expensive. Not here. Peter & crew work on both foreign and domestic cars & trucks - and from my experience I don't think there's a better, more fair, easygoing and incredibly efficient shop than A-1 Auto Center in Gardena. The bonus is that I have found myself a new mechanic AND body shop 1.5 miles from home - and the whole "ordeal" ended up costing me $19 in Uber rides/tips! ;-) read more

I had an issue where my car wasnt starting. I called A1 and described my problem to Miguel. Miguel listened and told me what he thought the problem was. Miguel also discussed with an automotive tech what he thought my problem was. Miguel told me to bring my car down to the shop. I brought my car down and Mario drove it around for a minute. He eventually hooked it up to a diagnostic machine to find out the problem was a dead battery. Thank you Miguel and Mario for your hard work and dedication to this customers needs. Nice shop. But not too friendly. I had a wrecked car and wanted to have an estimate but they said it should be totaled instead and tried to charge $95 for storage per night. I would have taken other cars of mine to be fixed there if they have allowed to store the wrecked car for free but the potential customer service was less than zero. This review is about a year late, but this place definitely deserves the 5 stars. Last year I had someone rear end my BMW, and I went to literally every single body shop within the Gardena area. Not only did this place give me the lowest quote, they were EXTREMELY polite and endearing throughout the entire process. On top of that, while my car was getting repaired they found further damage to the frame (unrelated to my car being rear ended) that Carmax and other body shops never even found. And instead of fixing it without my consent and charging extra, they called me BEFORE continuing any further work, just to inform me of the situation and ask for my permission to continue the repair.
