It's funny new restaurants open all the time and many times steal thunder from ones who are really good but not that hot spot. A One is one of those places still around that makes me wonder what is wrong with just really good food. It's a simple place, nice decorative lamps with quaint atmosphere. The food is outstanding, I had a Ramen Noodle dish while my wife enjoyed her Lo Mein. Simple ordering from screens on wall or menus. They do lots of take out but I always prefer the sitting down and enjoying a nice meal. Great service as well. Stopped in for lunch--Ruby served us and she was very sweet, polite, and attentive. She kept our water refilled without us ever needing to ask. The restaurant was clean with cute decorations, and you can see into the kitchen, which also looked very clean. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai with no egg and a little spice. Came here after the gym today to try this spot out. It's been here for years yet we haven't gone, but now we're kicking ourselves for skipping out all these years! We started with pan fried kimchi dumplings, which were pretty good! I liked the crisp, but I also am impressed by the wrappers integrity considering how super THIN and STUFFED the dumplings were! My husband ordered the Flaming Ramen, which impressed me with the smack of flavors and the noodles having a good chew. The spice was not overwhelming nor distracting, but still a good kick enough to enjoy. The broth was flavorful. The additional beef was very tender (and they did NOT skimp out). And the egg was very gummy with the yolk super creamy -- surprisingly very flavorful in its own way. He finished every single bite! I got the Spicy Sesame noodle stir fry and it was basically soupless ramen, but still very creamy and flavorful in its own right. Fried egg was a nice crisp at the edges, though I wished it had packed the same kind of flavor as the jelly ramen eggs. But it was still enjoyable. I couldn't finish because it was quite a large bowl, but knowing I basically got two meals for the price of one gets me more bang for our buck. Lastly, I had boba because... duh... *boba obsessed* and although I did request for it to be less sweet, it was still kind of sweet (I request for tapioca... they ran out but had brown sugar boba, so I think that's why it was still pretty sweet). The boba had Litchi all over it, and one of the owners of that boba spot came in while we ate so I think the owners of the original Litchi still co-own it but has it under different management. Cool! Menu is one page front and back with buns, dumplings,ramen, noodles, and chinese food options along with delish appetizers. We wanted to check it out, because we go to the movies next door regularly. I have to say, we were not impressed. Our order consisted of the pork bao's, the Thai Noodles and the pineapple fried rice with Char-Siu Pork Belly. The baos were ok, but generic. The noodles were good but nothing to write home about either and the fried rice came with 3 slices of pork Belly that were billed extra for a whooping 4$. Not enough to justify the price and not enough for that quantity of rice. The rest of the rice had no color, no flavor and nothing to make this a proper fried rice. Together with a Thai Tea we paid 53$. Chinese used to be an affordable food. We do know other places that give us a much better experience for a better price, so we will not be back. I don't even think it's necessarily the owners that are deliberately overcharging, but more so the location that forces their hand with rent and all. I deducted a star just because I feel the old paint and some Litchi furniture takes away from the experience. Food portions were nice and I really liked the Crab Rangoons! The dumplings also tasted great. As for the Flaming Cheese Noodles, I got Char-Siu Pork Belly as a protein and it tasted okay, not too much flavor aside from the spice. It's ok. The Lychee Tea with boba is good. My mistake was asking for extra sugar. It was too sweet for me so I fixed it by asking for extra ice. The crab Rangoon is not your typical won ton wrapper. Maybe a homemade dough like an empanada? I would have liked the filling if it didn't have a level of sugar. The spring rolls are very salty. My Pad Thai and Max's ramen were both very good. Even though there is inside seating that can sit about 8 families, the restaurant was lacking a wait list. I hope they are more successful with takeout. Got Ramen with beef and chicken broth, soft boiled egg and a few other add one. Upgraded to pork belly with mild spice. Ingredients were solid but pork belly was tough, but big bowl and adequate amount of protein. I thought noodles looked suspiciously like the Ramen from the store. My companion got similar bowl but with chicken. Tender white meat and much more generous amounts of protein. We decided on 3.5 stars. 3 for pork belly 4 for chicken ramen. Would try again. A One Noodle & Dumpling took over the second Pines location of Litchi that was right next to Regal Cinemas in the Westfork Plaza. Although I'm super sad that the hibachi from Litchi is no longer here, A One Noodle has some great dishes and variety on their menu. From dumplings and baos to ramen and rice dishes, they have a lot to choose from. The two times I visited, I got the beef Japanese donburi. The beef was tender and well seasoned both times I got it and came with onions and a fried egg on top of rice. This will probably be my new go-to dish to get if I'm in need of a quick lunch close by. My friend got the Japanese Unagi Donburi (BBQ eel over rice with eel sauce) and he enjoyed it. The seating inside is plentiful and spacious. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in, and they sat us down and gave us menus.my wife started with a butterfly leche tea. From therewith had a couple of appetizers. Some kimchi and some steamed shrimp shumia. Both were good. Afterward, my wife had the takoyaki. It's basically a fried potato ball with a piece of octopus in the middle. Came for the first time to the new-ish ramen and boba shop. This is a small restaurant but has Pentothal tables to accommodate bigger groups. The services was great from beginning to end. The fruit green teas with popping bobas were refreshing and sweet. We started with a order of pork bao buns with were so flavorful and the pork was thick and juicy. We also order the steamed fried pork bun which it was my first time trying and they were really good as well. For entree we order a tonkatsu ramen and a flaming ramen. It does not come with a protein, but you can add different proteins like chashu pork, shrimp , tofu and more. Was not intending to go here today, but circumstances required that I switch from my original plans of going out for dim sum at China Pavilion because I would end up being a single diner. I would say that this is a Pan-Asian place, somewhat of a hybrid between Japanese, Chinese and Korean. It is Chinese-owned and serves a variety of dumplings and noodle dishes. I ordered the steamed shrimp and pork dumplings. They have very thin skin, and are made in house, however, this steaming caused the noodles to completely fall apart. I had them replaced with fried pork dumplings, and those were very good. So I would say get these either fried or pan fried. The noodle dish that I got was also very good. It was a spicy sesame noodle that I ordered with shrimp. I ordered it extra spicy, although I did not think it was particularly over the top spicy. However, the shrimp in it were a good size very good, they were fried and had a light cornstarch coating on it that you might see in Cantonese dishes. It came with a runny egg, scallions, cilantro, and peanuts and overall I thought it was a good dish. read more

Was a hungry after some shopping and came Herr since it was in the plaza. I tried the shrimp shumai and the beef steamed dumplings. We also tried the shrimp pineapple fried rice. The service was very good the two people who was our waiter was very please. They have the option to sit inside or take out food. They also have a small place to sit outside for two people since it is on the sidewalk. I didn't get a chance to taste the teas and ramen which I think that is what they ate known for. Next time I will try that to really know more. But from what I had it was decent. The dumplings was okay and rice was okay as well. Nice, small restaurant to pop into for a quick bite or bubble tea. It was conveniently right next to the movie theater and in a busy plaza so quite easy for a mid day lunch. I went with a friend & we shared a few dishes since we both like trying different items. The unagi don was really good, as well as the Thai fried noodle. It was ramen type noodles sautéed with veggies with a light sauce & chicken. 10/10. My friend also had the crab Rangoons , but those seemed difficult to eat, as the filling kept spilling out with each bite. Also, they were folded into little stuffed envelopes, but I personally like the ones pinched up so you have crispy edges. These didn't have that. The Japanese milk tea I got to go was also super sweet. I get milk tea several times a week from different places , and this one was almost too sweet to drink. She is attentive, thoughtful, knowledgeable, caring and genuinely a wonderful person! There is nothing I can write on here that will complement her embody how fantastic she is. The food was good. I had the flaming ramen(medium) and it definitely sufficed my pregnancy cravings! The signature green tea has a floral jasmine flavor to it. If you're not big on florals I may suggest something else.
