Good for what it is. Or what I think it is. Seafood boil. We tried to recreate my favorite Crab Legs combo from Crab Hut and didn't get anywhere close. Their version of the full house sauce is the called special sauce, but it's nothing like Crab Hut and is very creamy (which I didn't hate, but would definitely not order again). Still, the quality of the crab was pretty good, and the price was decent considering how expensive things have become with the pandemic inflation. Szechuan green beans and beef mi fun. It was tasty, but definitely on the greasy and salty side, which is not unexpected with fast food style Chinese food. It's a step up from a few other places in the area, and I would come back next time we order Chinese. Call the restaurant directly to order. This place is fantastic! I happened to stumble across it on Yelp when I was on the search for Chinese food. We ordered the beef and broccoli lunch special and the Singapore noodles. Both were delicious! Ingredients were very fresh and meals were not oily at all. I also appreciate seeing someone hand making wontons when I arrived. My order was ready on time and food was still hot when I got back to the office. The Singapore noodles was by far the best that I have had in Southern California. First let me start off with the fact that this is a small family owned business. The family is amazing when I went it was the mom dad and the son and they were a wonderful team. I called in my order from the car having never been there and explained what I was looking for which was fried rice and a vegetable dish being quite selective of the vegetables I wanted and noting how spicy I would like it all. I added some wonton soup to my order at the last minute, and so happy I did. The wontons were filled with the most flavorful meat I've ever had in a wonton. The fried rice was great. I got just regular fried rice with an extra egg nothing fancy and my sautéed vegetables perfectly cooked were a great assortment I got spice level 3 which on a scale of 1 to 10 would probably be a 6 but they only do a scale of 1 to 3. there is indoor seating it's just regular kind of burger stand seating nothing fancy, but suitable for a family or an individual dining on their own. Ordered the dumplings and were burnt to a crisp. I asked for some hot mustard and was told they were out of it. Looked up this place on Yelp. Soo good! All of our food was made to order - fresh and hot. The lady who took our order was so nice and friendly! It was our first time here, but she greeted all of the regular customers by name. All three of us enjoyed our meals. For a typical eater, you could easily eat this meal and have an entire leftover. For heartier eaters, it's a big meal! For three of us, it was under $50 for lunch entrees, drinks, and a tip. Like I said, it's a good portion. Before I comment on the food, I will comment on the young man at the counter who took my order. He was very nice and attentive. Usually at a store like this, that person has spoken with so many people that day, that you are just one more person, one more order for food. But he listened very well to my questions and answered them very concisely and completely. After a long day, that is always nice. The 'ambiance' is what you would expect from a take-out place. There is indoor seating, but most people are just sitting & waiting for their order. This is not a buffet-style eatery where you point to what you want. This is more of a sit-down style kitchen, but there is little sit-down area. Your food is made to order, meaning that it is hot when you get it and still hot when you get home. One thing to mention, ask about the spiciness of the plate. I do not like spicy like I used to. My dish was spicy so I had to eat it slowly and pick out the red peppers. It was delicious. The place is not easily seen as you drive by, so most of their customers are repeat customers. That is a good sign. I never leave Yelp reviews but this place was just amazing! I was visiting family in the area and thought I'd pick up food. Looked around for a bit and decided on this place since the reviews were pretty positive. The person that took our order, Steven, was just super nice and helpful. I explained that I've never been here before and he was able to explain some of the restaurant's more popular dishes as well as his own personal favorites. I ended up ordering some coconut shrimp, peking beef, and some sugar doughnuts since I have a bit of a sweet tooth. I was pretty impressed at the sugar doughnuts especially since they weren't too oily at all which is what I was expecting! The prices were pretty fair especially considering the amount of food you get per order! Definitely cheaper than some of my go to spots in the Bay Area. I ordered takeout/delivery from this eatery, so please take this point into consideration whilst reading this review. If the food was cold, I wouldn't complain, as such is inevitable with any takeout/delivery. The issue here is the quantity they actually give for the weight they claim to charge on their menu. I ordered 2lbs of shrimp, 1lb of black mussels, and 1lb of king crab legs. This wasn't my first seafood boil. I've been to others and they definitely give you more for a lower cost. Without incuding the service + delivery fee, I paid around $110. I was expecting a larger quantity, but when I received my order, it was quite disappointing. I literally wished I could go back in time to NOT place the order. Yes, king crab legs are expensive, but 1lb doesn't equate to 2 thin crab legs with literally no meat in them. I weighed everything in my home with the food scale, and everything was given in smaller quantity. They packed the 2 king crab legs with the small amount of mussels and 3-4 shrimps into 1 bag. Then the other bag, they put the rest of the shrimp. If you want seafood boil, definitely go elsewhere for your money. You can get way more at The Boiling Crab than this place for the equivalent cost. So disappointed. I will not be returning here again. This review only applies to their seafood boil items and not the rest of their food selection. I haven't seen or tried their other options, so I will leave that up to you to decide. read more
