I thought I had found a good honest mechanic. In the beginning everything was great. Great service, great prices. All was good and I took my car there for several years. I even referred several friends who became customers as well. But I started having doubts about repairs that were done. So lucky to have found this spot! Seriously. Finding an honest repair place can be intimidating because it feels like someone is always out to scam you, but A Plus was the exact opposite. Not only were they kind enough to give me a discount on the phone when I inquired about replacing my battery, but they kept their word even after having to spend extra time to make modifications to the battery to get it to fit, since I had brought in my own. I was expecting them to jack up the price once I went to pick up my car given all the extra work, but they happily gave me my car back at the price I was quoted. I was visiting relatives in SoCal and my car radiator started leaking like crazy. I was leaving in two days and couldn't find anyone to take a look at my car immediately. I tried A Plus and after I explained my situation the owner (I think) said he would try to help me out. He met me early the next morning, replaced my radiator that evening, and my '03 Corolla was rollin' again. Awesome service! Random side note, I think this shop works on high end cars. Bummer. I rented a U-Haul from here over a year ago and felt like they were so cool and awesome to work with, really felt like I was family, like they say. I promised myself if I ever got around to doing any of my old car restoration dreams I'd come here. So I'm looking at a 68 Chevy school bus to convert into an RV, and called to see if A plus could check it out and tell me A) what mechanics are going to need fixed soon and B) how much it would cost -- plan was to buy it and get the work done immediately. After charging me $400, AAMCO tried to say the problem I was having was due to a part that they couldn't find anymore because my car was "so old" (it was 8 years old), and there was nothing they could do. I have a 2012 BMW 328i with over 100K miles on it. Aside from regular oil changes; I haven't had it in to be serviced in a couple years and I thought it was time. I was recommended A Plus by a friend and took my car there to be looked at on Feb. 29. Being it had been a while, I was expecting a fairly long laundry list of things that needed to be "fixed". I dropped it off in the morning and by noon or so, my car was ready to be picked up. Shahe charged me for an oil change and rotation of my tires. He said he checked all fluids and topped of a few, but overall the car was in good condition. He stated the seals on the transmission were starting to leak a bit, but said it wasn't a major concern for a while. I was fully expecting a large quote of things to be done, but was pleasantly surprised to know that only an oil change and rotated tires was needed. I was looking for a mechanic open on Saturdays, and I hit the jackpot. My last mechanic only dealt in Volvos, and I'd been dreading finding a new mechanic. Now I'm not worried any more, I'll be coming back here! I know very little about cars and am shopping around for a used car. Took one to Shahe O. and he showed me how it had been in an accident, how the dealer had painted it badly to hide the evidence, and all sorts of other problems. He walked me around and under the car, showing me the issues and explaining what was wrong and why. During this, I never felt like an idiot or that he was patronizing me, I felt like I was learning a lot of useful information. (Which is sadly rare for a woman on her own dealing with car mechanics.) He also looked over the Carfax reports I got from dealers and walked me through what things meant, so I could make an informed decision. Then I went back to the shady dealer armed with the knowledge I needed to turn down their bad deal! Shahe saved me from buying a piece of junk! Where to start? My sons car is a 2008 Dodge Avenger. He needed the smog check to pass on his car but because of a couple lights on in the electrical system it wouldn't. We had gotten so discouraged at another place that had us bringing the car back and forth and it was such an ordeal and they still hadn't fixed it. I'd heard about this place from a friend and it really saved us. My sons brakes were going too. He fixed the problem with the minor leak so the car would pass the smog check and the brakes for us.
