GL Hunt's initial foundation repair work was completed on my home in 12/24; and was signed off by a…read morestructural engineer shortly after. We were told then to allow 6 months before doing any cosmetic repairs inside. By late summer 2025 we noticed significant shifting by way of doors not opening/closing as they had. An adjustment in 10/25 was necessary due to 25 of the 32 piers sinking. All 32 were adjusted to bring the house back to level. There was no structural engineer to confirm the accuracy of the 2025 adjustment and the clock to start inside work had to be restarted. Immediately following the 2025 adjustment, a significant crack appeared on the west wall of my house, running through the bricks--not just mortar. There were no cracks on that wall prior to any of the foundation work. On 2/24/26, GL Hunt returned to check the house's levelness, finding that the area with the crack is now over .5" higher than the rest. They dismiss the crack as cosmetic only, even though the elevated area suggests it was over-lifted in the 2nd adjustment. Despite a lifetime warranty, the company says additional work to address this will result in them no longer warranting the 5 over-lifted piers. This is troubling, as this is the entire point of a warranty; and the crack is a direct result of their work. Efforts to contact GL Hunt for resolution since 2/24 have been ignored. Our dilemma is that we do not believe we can trust GL Hunt to effectively correct this issue and fully honor the warranty for its entire lifetime, which raises concerns about the long-term reliability of the product and support thereof. Ultimately, this unresolved issue affects the safety, stability, and value of my home. We have attempted other avenues to resolve this issue, to no avail. They have offered a review by a structural engineer (of their choice, of course); and an offer to fix the issue "at a fair cost". Fair would be to have handled this correctly, up front from the beginning, but here we are.

In terms of securing a contractor and as a standard of practice, I would never suggest just getting one quote, but in this rare case I can state unequivocally a person can exclusively select Texas Best Flooring Company and not have to look elsewhere. This company and our experience is the exception and not the rule. Keep in mind, there is a great deal that goes into installing a floor. It encompasses many steps to do it correctly and it is a trade that requires precision. When we purchased our house in 2016 it had been a remodel with one of the rooms having hardwood floors that were not sealed and secured properly. Consequently, there were issues with moisture that exacerbated the original installation. Something a buyer could not detect initially. Fast forward to March 2026 and we interviewed two contractors who claimed from their website they had years of experience installing floors. I am sure those contractors had years of experience installing floors *incorrectly.* With Texas Best Flooring, David using specific instruments for moisture detection and moisture movement was able to analyize the data and then ascertain the root cause issues along with the subsequent impacts to the previous floor. What followed was one of the best proposals we had seen from a contractor that offered a comphrehensive solution for our floor. This proposal explained the methods and scope of work necessary to accomplish this installation the right way! The way it should have been done the first time around. The thoroughness of this proposal was indicative of the work that was to follow. From the grinding of the concrete slab phase, leveling, buffing, application of specialized expansion sealants, adhesives etc...the hardwood was ready to be installed. Every step of the process was completed with utmost quality and attention to detail. Their customer service is highly knowledeable and a pleasure to work. And David's technical team is cordial, considerate, clean and professional throughout. To summarize, Texas Best Flooring Company is a turnkey operation that provides exceptional services from cradle to completion. Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time. I offered to pay a service charge but he said that wasn't necessary. We did follow up on the phone briefly (I was busy when he was finished) and I am strongly considering coming back to them for some drainage improvements here and there as precautionary measures. Additionally, I offer the following; 1) I find a disassociation of info between AMANDA & "the ownership", 2) the owner NEVER replies to a complaint, by name, which indicates that anyone could be answering the complaints OR 'the owner' does not want to be associated by name with negative feedback from customers, 3) it is a common ploy to attempt to dismiss a complaint by the 'owners' reply of, "we cannot locate you in our files", further frustrating the homeowner and the attempt to not recognize their work. I do recognize that homeowners are not always being honest with the reviews, but if a curious party checks the Google, Yelp, LinkedIn and BBB reviews, you will find, as I did, that I do not want to do business at RS Foundations.

The man was polite and went around the house and entered some numbers in his tablet. He said it was minimal movement and for that he didn't recommend any action just keep the soaker hose in use and the tile was probably due to the hot summers which we understand can happen. My issue is that he said he would email me the report but I never received it. It took calling and emailing this company 3 times to get a response and a very short response only. The email said we don't provide reports when there's no work done. Really??? Then why did their employee said otherwise??? I think it's very deceptive not to get a report. We have had more tile crack and walls since then so we are calling another company and we will never recommend this company to anyone.
