They said they'd (finally) deliver it the day after I came in looking for it 27 days later. They did not. Oh, and they're closed weekends so that adds another three days having to wait (assuming it shows up Monday! They may know how to clean clothes (even repair them - although since I haven't seen my garment, I can't actually attest to that!!), but their customer service is absolutely dismal! There are a handful of other places to go in the neighborhood. GO TO ONE OF THEM. THAT'S WHAT I'M GOING TO DO!

Understand what that means in this day and age. Understand you will be a loyal customer of Champion Cleaners without question. How often can one state that these days...? Let me give you my most recent example. I have a white Guayabera all linen long sleeve shirt with the vertical pleats on the front, the kind you can wear to church, to weddings, to fine dining, and on important dates. Now then let that shirt be unknowingly stained in multiple places on each sleeve by a dark and tarry mushroom supplement you take. You think, "this shirt is ruined on the first wear." Not so quick with Josh and Champion Cleaners. I texted Josh and told him of the challenge to clean this shirt. He replied, "we'll do our best." Their best at Champion Cleaners was well up to the job and I texted Josh that perhaps he heard the applause coming from my direction in the still of the early morning in the City. I brought the dress in to have the top taken in because it was too long for my torso. Instead of adjusting it properly, they unevenly cut into the dress, leaving it totally unbalanced and disproportionate. One shoulder now has ruffles, the other doesn't. One side of the chest has a 2.5-inch seam, the other is barely 1 inch. It looks like two different dresses sewn together. And when I expressed how upset I was, with only three days before the wedding I needed it for, the seamstress actually yelled at me and blamed my body for her mistake. They charged me $100 for work that destroyed my dress. Save yourself the stress, money, and frustration. Go literally anywhere else.

Although i gave the worker at the time- let's call her Sally- my information, I did not receive a ticket. As this was my first time at this store, I didn't think much of it at the time. When I returned to the store, another worker- let's say Bob- gave me one clean shirt and my suit. My other shirt was missing. Bob claimed that I only brought in my suit and one shirt - and seemed to argue that I was lying to him. (Although Bob was not in the store when I dropped off my suit and two shirts originally with Sally). Bob mentioned that he was going to go check something, and spent ten/fifteen minutes staring at a computer monitor. He didn't communicate with me what he was doing. Eventually i got concerned and walked over to him to see what he was doing with the monitor. It turns out, he was looking at the security footage to, i speculate, to see if i was in fact lying to him. Turns out, we both watched footage of Sally preparing my suit and two shirts as I was giving her my contact information. Bob didn't apologize and didn't really look sorry. He also didn't seem to know what to do. I didn't pay for my clothes at the time and he mentioned that they will try to look for my shirt. And he mentioned that if they found it, that they would deliver it to my school 2 blocks away. I was annoyed because I would have to take dress clothes on the subway now twice between Manhattan and Brooklyn, but felt better with Bob mentioning that they could deliver it to my school to make the trip a little easier. (I'm a full time graduate student in a professional program) Two days later I got a text message from Bob- and a bizarre conversation ensued. Good news is that they found it relatively quickly. The bad news is that they seemed to not understand how to provide customer service to a person who would have to go out of his way a second time for his laundry for a mistake that he didn't make. I've included pictures of this text conversation below. Ultimately, I will not be returning because I felt like I was accused of lying in regard to Brown Bag Laundry losing my own shirt. I felt like they did not handle this situation properly I really wish that I could have written a better review after this first time using them- although they did give me 20% in the end. In the end, my clothes were clean. And if everything goes the way it should go with your laundry, you should have nothing to worry about. But I don't suggest this place on the off chance they lose one of your items. Update/edit: The manager recently messaged me on Yelp and asked that I change my review because he did not like how i portrayed BBL. I'd like to publicly add a caveat to this review. Everything above is a documentation of my interactions with BBL as well as how the company made me feel. People make mistakes and I'm sure everyone who works at BBL are great people, but I would hate for these interactions to happen to another unsuspecting customer.

They set a new low for customer service…read more Upon giving them my phone number to search for my shirt, they searched the aisles back and forth at least five times. Then they proceeded to pull out a random white shirt and assume it was mine. I had to search for the shirt myself in the back and point out which one was mine. After not meeting a 72 hour turnaround deadline that they set themselves, a man proceeded to argue with me about what the stain actually was. I know candle wax was spilled on the shirt but they cleaned as if it were another oil. There was clearly no communication between the front desk and the cleaners. For them to assume zero responsibility and still charge me, despite the fact that they used an incorrect method to clean the stain, is unacceptable. It is embarrassing that they still operate this way. Another time, a lady refused to alter my pants and told me "it's ok, just leave them long like that". Thank goodness there is another cleaners and tailor right across the street.
