I've been coming by to Sammy Dry Cleaners for the past few months and couldn't be happier. I came in to hem some curtains as they were too long, and Didi did an excellent job. Afterwards, I gave some jeans to tailor and those were also excellent. Months later, I've given Didi more than 10 pairs of pants to work with to adjust for me and am very happy with the quality I've been receiving and will continue being a customer. I have sent my wash/dry and dry cleaning to Sammy's for 2 months but will never go back and would highly recommend avoiding. Last month they lost over $500 of my LuluLemon workout clothing - after bringing it to the attention of multiple employees, they did not help to recover the items. I checked in multiple times with different employees as well as the manager - each time I was told either to come back or to make sure I checked my own closet. They have refused to return my calls, provide a timeline about how they are figuring the situation out (they lost my clothes over a month ago at this point), or provide any refund for their blatant error. They have been accusatory and demeaning in the process - overall am embarrassingly unprofessional series of events. Do not bring your clothes here if you want to see them again. read more

WORST DRY CLEANER IN NYC. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Sammy's recently opened in the West Village so I decided to give them a chance. At first, I noticed that the white shirts, sent for dry cleaning, returned with a yellow tint. But I ignored and continued to send my clothes. Next, I had a pair of pants taken in. Terrible mistake as the pants came back 3 inches too tight and effectively destroyed. Even still, I blamed myself for not taking to a more experienced tailor. Finally, my worst and last experience with Sammy's. I brought a large load for wash and fold services. When I opened the bag, every single pair of clothing was wrinkled to the point where an iron would not help. Clearly the only way a load of laundry can look like this is if they were left in a wet pile until they dried and then folded! Too make it even more disgusting there were random peoples underwear in my bag too!! See pictures for proof! So... I went back and decided to show the woman working at the time the pictures. I told her that I know most cleaners use an outside service to actually perform the cleaning so given they are new maybe its worth checking in to.... expecting her to apologize and not charge me. I tried to be a nice guy about it! Instead she told me it was my fault for not asking for hang dry service! hah! To think she would try and blame me for this was mind boggling. But... she kept blaming me and trying to make up excuses. And to top it off being rude about it! Over the course of my life in NYC I have had thousands of wash and fold services performed. This was the only time something like this had happened. Bottom line, this place is really bad, the services are poor and the woman behind the counter is as rude as it gets. DO NOT BRING YOUR LAUNDRY HERE. read more

I really can't praise Sammy Dry Cleaning enough. Everyone is so nice and Roy is absolutely meticulous. When I dropped my items off, he inspected each piece for stains. My items all came back perfect and timely! I came by recently to get my zipper fixed on a silk dress. Roy explained exactly how it would be fixed and voila -- the item is good as new! It doesn't hurt that Roy is such an absolute sweetheart -- what a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

This is the first time I have ever written a Yelp review, but Sammys truly deserves it. They have been taking care of all of my dry cleaning and tailoring needs for the past 2 or so years. Yes, their dry cleaning services are exceptional. Yes, their tailor pays attention to detail and will happily make re-alterations until you're perfectly happy with the result. But what makes this place truly extraordinary is Roy. Roy is by far one of the warmest, kindest, funniest, most genuine humans I have had the pleasure of interacting with in this city. If I could give less than a 1 Star I would. This has to be the worst dry cleaner in all of nyc. They just do not provide quality services and they do not rectify their mistakes. They have recently ruined a rather expensive shirt and were unable to speak to how it could have possibly happened. I would try any other cleaner in the wets village; it has to be better than these folks. Seriously avoid them. Look at all their other poor reviews. Been going to different dry cleaners since the early 2000's. This place and its staff is the real deal. I like to just drop off with minimal details and and see how it turns out.
