Valet parking only! We came on a Monday night for my partner's bday. The restaurant was surprisingly packed on a weekday night, so I would definitely make reservations. For starters, we ordered brussel sprouts leaves, hamachi crudo, and sauteed mushrooms. The acidity from lemon and capers on the brussel sprouts kept the dish light despite being cooked in butter. We enjoyed these sprouts so much that I was inspired to try making similar sprouts at home immediately after. The hamachi crudo was also very tasty with a bunch of different flavors - refreshing from the sweet and sour orange, but spicy from the jalapeno, and then creamy from the avocado! I would pass on the sauteed mushrooms - they were kind of bland and wet and tasted almost steamed. We originally also wanted to order the steak tartare but they ran out. :( For entrees, we had the Japanese A5 wagyu and the Niman Ranch Pork Chop. I thought the value of the wagyu was pretty good. The cut was New York strip, so it was also less overwhelmingly fatty than other wagyu cuts. It was served with grated horseradish (quite cool and surprisingly un-pungent) and cute shimeji mushrooms that were in some kind of sweet miso glaze. And no complaints about the pork chop! The meat was cooked nicely and the sweet vermouth/mustard sauce was like an elevated honey mustard. Admittedly, I mainly got this for the truffle gnocchi which was indeed the best part!! Buttery and chewy. Love me some good carbs! Overall, the food was enjoyable but nothing felt new or creative. The service was good. The ambiance was intimate and cozy. This place has been around since I was a kid. The great memories I have of eating here with my parents as a kid are a part of why going to this place is so nostalgic. I love how rowdy the bar gets on a Friday or Saturday night too. I can always count on this place to deliver me the best dinner experience over all. I traveled from Phoenix to enjoy a fun weekend in Orange County. I came here for a birthday celebration and one of the people in my party got FOOD POISONING from the wedge salad. My friend had the wedge salad and started getting gassy with a belly ache less than an hour of having dinner there. It ruin our entire weekend. We had to end our night early and go back to our hotel to manage her belly ache and diarrhea. I ended up taking care of her instead of celebrating my birthday! The steak we ordered was excellent but it doesn't matter. Once you get sick from eating somewhere. The chance of getting sick isn't worth it due to cross contamination. Beware! I won't go back. There are so many restaurants to try instead. They had once chance to make it a great experience and it was a night of babysitting a grown adult with diarrhea. I wanted to leave 5 stars but can't. Celebrated our anniversary here last night and were treated to amazing food and service - highlights for food included the calamari, tai red snapper, and dark chocolate ice cream. For drinks, we loved the monkey n'tonic, New York Sour, and complimentary champagne (such a nice touch). However, we didn't love the outdoor tent (despite the numerous heaters and beautiful floral scent) for a few reasons. 1) Masks did not appear to be required, which felt unsafe. 2) The tent was very loud and was hard to enjoy an intimate and romantic dinner. 3) There were large parties that seemed to ignore guidelines for social distancing. With that said, we may come back when safe, indoor dining is once again an option, but would not recommend the outdoor tent. Interesting visit. All parking is valet, $6 plus tip. Reservations at 6pm, we arrived early at 5:35pm, empty restaurant for the most part. They suggested we sit in the bar and we did not wish to do that. Anyway, they found a table for us. So, minutes into our visit, we were hit with $$$ to park and pushing us to drink at bar. I parked on PCH instead, $1 for an hour. Table service, Santiago was our server! FANTASTIC! Super nice and friendly, knowledgeable and has been with the restaurant for 30 years, he knows the history for sure. Cocktails were wonderful. Appetizer of Spanish Octopus, fabulous. Mushroom soup, fabulous, Wedge salad, delicious. The service was exceptional, food was exceptional,. I just hate being forced to pay for valet parking, BTW, Valet is a service provided at a restaurant, club, or airport whereby an attendant parks and retrieves the patrons' vehicles, not necessarily a charged fee, that is I parked myself and was told I would have to pay, which is not good. I know, it's only $6, right, but I am a principle person, this crossed the line on the parking. Ribeye steak, outstanding! Halibut filet, wonderful, macaroni and cheese, yummy! We came here a little after Thanksgiving and they had Christmas decorations all over the restaurant. It was so cute! Part of the restaurant has a separate area for the bar which is great to just grab drinks. I ordered the ribeye and it was so good! It was cooked perfectly. I love the roasted garlic bulb that it came with. It added so much flavor to the ribeye. The side dishes were super tasty. We ordered mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes to share and also a side of greens! Our server was so nice and accommodating. He kept checking on our table to make sure everything was ok. We were in here with a large party on a Tuesday night and food and service were good. Parking is valet only. It was crowded inside at the bar and tables but we had a large booth reserved. It's dark and cozy inside. The appetizers, wine, steak and fish were all good but the meatballs were a little dense but tasty. Beer selection is ok. Decided to book a reservation for my Wedding Anniversary and it was very hassle free on Open table. Valet $7, We were able to be seated right away after check-in. I really liked how they created a magical outdoor oasis of a dining experience with the white tent, lights, and all at a safe distance. Service was amazing, the evening did get busy but our waters were always filled nonetheless and our food came out on a timely manner. The ribeyes were cooked to perfection, the cocktails were refreshing and the calamari was amazing. Definitely a must have for a starter. For Dessert, we ordered a meyer lemon cheesecake and I must say...it had a nice sweet and tart balance which was delectable and gone in like 2.5 seconds. Not sure if it was just the local work crowd or the fact it was ribs night. Asked the valet and he said it was hit or miss on Wednesdays...one week busy, the prior week light. Although busy, we were sat ahead of our reservation time. We'd gone early hoping to sit quietly at the bar but it was packed. I ordered the hangar steak and the boyfriend ordered the rib eye. Both were good. I wish my hangar steak had come with a sauce (chimichurri or other) but was still good. Both steaks came with a roasted half head of garlic, which I LOVE, and helped add a punch of flavor. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had anywhere - very creamy. One small complaint: we ordered the Caesar to split and asked for dressing on the side and an alternate dressing for me. Was told the chef would only do One dressing. What? Why?? The salad came pre-split but both had the Caesar dressing plus we both got the alternate dressing on the side. I give our waiter points for trying. When I asked our sever if it looked medium to him, he paused, laughed, and finally answered, it looks medium but we can cook it more." I declined to have it cooked more. The pork chop, scallops, and mashed potatoes were OK, and the filet mignon was nothing special (it was cooked perfectly). A Restaurant did their job. Nothing more, nothing less. We were sat in the most ugly booth in the corner of the room, right by the smoky kitchen like we were in a closet. It was so uncomfortable, so let's get to the meal. It finally comes out, not to mention how nasty they're appetizers, are and boring. The steak was not even a full ribeye. It's a thin s Piece of ninety nine cent store quality steak pure fat and cartilage. I took about 2 bites of it and was done the Mac and cheese. Had no flavor whatsoever and had the consistency, as if it was cooked in a dishwasher, no flavor the quote truffle flies had no flavor at all. Whatsoever, no seasoning, nothing very boring and bland not worth the $100 a plate We paid. absolutely no sides. No mashed potatoes, no cream, spinach, no cream, corn, no baked potato. No fresh bread on the table i basically sent back my whole meal but was still charged for the sides.Even though I didn't eat them my girlfriend ordered the lobster but got no lobster meat. I had a very strange experience with security here and just want to caution others. Evening parking is pretty much valet at A and I was fine with that however I never realized how much control you relinquish when you valet your car prior to dining here. I parted with my keys and enjoyed a great meal. Upon leaving to get my car from the valet, I was told that I couldn't drive my car off the lot and needed to arrange for a ride. The valet had my key so I was basically held hostage. What's really interesting is that the Valets had already determined that I was unfit to drive prior to even speaking with me. There was someone who had directed them to not give me access to my car. Who(?). No one even attempted to speak with me directly. It was like the decision was already made. "I couldn't drive my car off the lot". Totally crazy. When I pushed and eventually got my key back. They had actually called the NB PD. The NBPD just told me to get a ride home and forget about it. I realize that many people may assume that I must have done something to encourage this reaction from A Management however I assure you I did nothing. Just a warning to others, don't leave your car or keys with the valets here without knowing of the potential access to your vehicle may be denied by them. Very scary stuff. read more

Did not see price on menu, may have been there, but so dark we definitely did not see it or it may have said "market price" - it was $97. I think this is a new record for a steak price for us. Could have gotten our minds around that price had it knocked his socks off, but it was dry, not much flavor (ordered med rare). Have had bone in ribeyes all over the country, that were phenomenal for $50-75. This was a miss. I ordered lemon halibut with some kind of risotto. Risotto was very bland, had to ask for salt. Fish was meh, nothing special. $40. (I just had this identical meal at a restaurant in Atlanta last week and it was fabulous for $26). So it left me unimpressed. Wedge salad was a major miss- can't recall the price & i hate to say it but it tasted like a wedge salad from Outback, main problem was it lacked the traditional very thick, very rich blue cheese dressing you get at nice steakhouses, it was watery and had very little flavor. Bacon was hard to chew, rock hard. My Sundae dessert was good, husbands custard was not. First time here, just wasn't a win for us, had potential and probably great for drinks and appetizers. My wife took me here for a great birthday dinner. I'm surprised we haven't been before because this place is quite good. I think we'll be coming back more often given the close proximity, delicious food and good service. Cesar was professional and courteous throughout our stay -- we didn't have to ask for anything like napkins, refills, silverware, etc, it was seamlessly present when needed. The food was the highlight: I'd suggest the filet mignon medium rare - the meat melts in your mouth and it is perfectly seared.
