I bought a Groupon for lash extensions and when I came to redeem it, I was told that the person who made the deal originally had left but they would honor my Groupon anyway. I don't know if she doesn't usually do lashes or what, but it was an older lady using the glasses thing with the magnifying glass, but maybe 5 lashes were definitely glued to my eyelid and I had a hell of a time trying to them them off and cut the root of it so it didn't stab me in the eye when I'm just blinking like normal. My eyes were kind of irritated for awhile and the top of my eyelids were also irritated because of residual glue. I don't know if she does lashes for other people or what, but I always do lash extension off Groupon and go to different places and never had an issue til going here. read more

Being a female is freaking expensive if you don't want to look like a bum! The facials, nails, makeup, clothes...etc..everything adds up. So when I look for a facial place, I need 1) CHEAP but quality..or at least decent in my book and 2) CLEANLINESS bc I don't want germy hands or utensils anywhere near my face. EVER. If I even see nose picking or anything, NEXT...!! AT Beauty is a mom & pop hole in the wall across from the movie theatre in Alhambra. It is by no means a high end, posh, pretentious beverly hills type place. If you are expecting that, sorry, you'll be sorely disappointed. In fact, the first time I set foot inside I was kind of nervous because the place looked a tad dingy..but looks can be decieving and I've been going for 2 years now. Amy is the owner and she cares about her customers. She'll kindly call to remind you the day before and if you did forget and need to cancel, she doesn't bite your head off. She not only knows you by name, but she'll have lovely convos with you while shes poking and prodding at your face. And best of all? She doesn't try to sell you her entire store. Oh yea and did I mention she even gave me some persimmons from her tree once? Anyway..onto the actual services. I bought the 10 session package for I think $300? $350? The facials are simple...clean, steam, extractions, germ electrocution, mask, mini massage. She has more complicated treatments like photofacials, vitamin C facials etc but I'm only there for the simple stuff. Theres always faint music playing in the background and the beds are soft and comfy. She got me the first time but each successful time has gone down hill fast. $28 for a sixty min facial the first time sounds like a steal, she reels you in for a package and then underwhelms the next time you visit. Sorry. What a scam. A facial should be a relaxing time with one on one care and attention. Instead, she double books, answers the phone, has visitors and clinks and clanks around the room making it an extremely stressful experience. She will literally have a phone conversation bending over your face and weave in and out of rooms trying to manage multiple customers at a time. That's definitely not the care I'm looking for. Several times long stretches passed before she even came in to check on me. . . Turning a 60 min facial into a 20 minute facial session with lots over half an hour of of noise and waiting in between. I really wanted to like her. There's a lot of talent there. Just not enough attention and thoughtfulness. Keeping your customers waiting and being noisy is not the way to go! read more

The whole experience was rather abysmal. I actually found this place through Yelp's star-rating recommendation, and after my visit and reviewing the glowing reviews, I'm kicking myself for not realizing they're reviews left by what are clearly friends of the business-owners to boost her business visibility (these are 1-review only accounts?) During my facial, Amy kept commenting on how bad the condition my skin is while doing extractions...hardly the sort of experience you want when you're already self-conscious about your complexion (and also very aware of it already...hello? Why do you think I booked an appointment with you in the first place?), and also just wanting to relax while getting the treatment...and not listening to the esthetician making comments every 10 seconds. Multiple times DURING the procedure, she got up and left to answer a phone call (as she doesn't have a receptionist), or greet another customer who came in. I found this to be rather unprofessional. The worst of it all was the constant up-selling. Every second she got, she tried aggressively to sell me a product or an expensive treatment package. No thanks. Look elsewhere if you're looking for a treatment that's performed professionally and by someone who isn't trying to up-sell you on cosmetic products. read more

My pedicure was very relaxing and the technician was very welcoming and friendly. My heels were smooth after my pedicure. The callous by my big toe is not as smooth as I would like, but I will return because it is clean, peaceful, and reasonable. I got a deep cleansing facial from Ankie. I was having lot of breakouts & redness on my face. I also had a tanned skin from a 4 day trip in the sun. I was very scared as after my previous facial I got couple of big pus filled cysts. Ankie did a great job in cleansing, extracting & massaging my skin. She was very gentle. The shoulder, neck arm massage was fantastic. I got very relaxed. The hot towels, face mask, everything was wonderful. After she was done my skin looked & felt a lot cleaner. I gotta say... I've never been treated like this. I walked in. As they advertise "walks in welcome" I asked for mani/pedi. The lady who welcomed me said ok. Showed me where to sit. Honestly, I don't really enjoy facials because of the extractions. With that being said, Amy does a great job and also gives the best face massage. My skin looks and feels better and a lot less clogged, so that I feel more comfortable wearing less or no makeup. Invest in regular facials and you'll spend less on facial products and makeup. It's definitely worth it, especially with Amy's specials. I've been to other places that are more expensive but it's not realistic to go regularly, which defeats the purpose.
