I went into A Timeless Treat a few moments before they closed last night (Saturday) out of curiosity and a desire for something different. They had an assortment of desserts available including cookies, cupcakes, banana pudding and peach cobbler. I ordered two red velvet cupcakes and an orange cranberry cupcake. To my pleasant surprise, I realized that they sell soul food and desserts. The soul food was not displayed, but still available to purchase due to the timing that I came in. The staff was so friendly and hospitable! There is no seating, so come ready to place your to go order and head home. The Saturday menu offered a few entrees and soulful sides, including baked pork chops with gravy, baked chicken, and fried fish. For sides, they had rice, macaroni and cheese, yams, collards and cornbread (and a few others, see a Saturday menu in the photo). They were sold out of baked chicken, so I opted for two pork chop dinners with macaroni, collards and yams for my family. It also included rice and cornbread. I was able to put the gravy on the side. They used sturdy to-go boxes and cupcake containers and nothing leaked out on my way home. I appreciated this a lot, because sometimes restaurants give you a styrofoam box that does not close, causing the sauces and juice from the food to leak out in the bag. The food was AMAZING! It tasted like it was made with love from scratch. I loved the pork chops and gravy, rice and cornbread. A Timeless Treat made the best macaroni and cheese that I've tried at a restaurant in Douglasville or Atlanta area! The portion was enough to have some for dinner and then the next day for lunch. Prepare for a nap after that meal! The red velvet cupcakes were good as well! Overall, I recommend this restaurant. After a long week , I wanted to grab Sunday dinner from somewhere I've never been. I wanted something close to my home cooking . I wanted it to feel comforting. As I searched for that spot , A Timeless Treat popped up in my feed. It was only 11 reviews, which isn't a good number to determine if it's great or not, but they were all positive. The reviews all were similar focused. Stating the desserts were amazing and the food wouldn't disappoint. I paraphrased, but this is what I gathered after reading all (11) comments. It was a distance for me , but I'm always willing to give it a try at least once . From my understanding the menu changes daily . My only qualm on the way there is I didn't know what to expect because the menu wasn't posted on the website. Once I arrived , I was greeted by two pleasant ladies with a smile. I expressed that it was my first time there . One of the ladies explained to me the menu for the day . The board was very clear with the menu options listed and pricing . I was excited to know one of the choices was catfish , baked chicken, shrimp as the main dish and collards , Mac n cheese, and black eyed peas to name a few things. As for desserts it was endless. There were banana pudding, a cheese cake known as milk and cookies . It was to die for! Needless to say ( from my photos ) there were cookies in a jar on the counter. I can't recall them all , but two were of the flavors were chocolate chip and peanut butter. Let me tell you !! Whew ! The peanut butter cookies were a must have as I witnessed customers arriving only for the peanut butter cookies. A few were buying the others , but I emptied the peanut butter cookie jar after seeing them request them . It was a good choice . Peanut cookies are my favorite dessert. Yummy ! Now the spot was cute and clean with its sage green and black decor and design . The shelving displayed plaques and the modern lighting hanging from the ceiling were a nice touch. The case they displayed the desserts were well lit and clean as well . Since there weren't any seating options I had to order my food to go . That wasn't an issue for me . I ordered catfish , black eyed peas, mac n cheese. The fish was cooked to perfection. It wasn't over or under cooked. There were just the right amount of seasoning. The pieces were good sized pieces . I had two pieces of fish , and a surprise sliced of cornbread. I could just order the cornbread alone . It was so good! The Mac was good , but tasted differently than I've had before. They weren't stingy with the portions. The plate wasn't stuffed , but it was a decent amount for the price and quality. If you are looking for a nice plate to eat with good food, it's gotten my attention for sure. I'll definitely try it again . Go ahead and try it! read more

This was the worst experience.. The item that I pre-ordered was not ready when I arrived, nor was it complete and on top of it I still had to wait an extensive amount of time.. I asked for a refund, The cash register printer did not work which I refused to have it put back on my card. It could have easily been a scamming activity, nonetheless, the owner attempted to get belligerent and ignorant at which she threw my refund at me. Overall, the food is TRASH! 1st timer- the staff was professional. The fried catfish was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Yams were good. The cabbage was too salty, if I revisit in the future, hoping for a better experience. After driving from Tampa to the Atlanta area I was ready for some good soul food. I just wanted to grab something and go back to the hotel and relax. The reviews seem to be decent so I decided to give this a try. The place appeared very clean and lots of friendly smiles behind the counter. I really wanted some smothered pork chops or some beef tips but not the menu. No yams today either. I settled for some baked chicken, rice and gravy and collard greens. I couldn't get to my hotel fast enough to try out everything. But.. I was disappointed. Everything was bland! I thought there was something wrong with my taste buds. What a great addition to Douglasville! I'm so happy we stumbled upon this spot. A Timeless Treat is both a soul food and bakery eatery. I ordered the baked chicken with no veggies (5/5), sweet potato cheesecake (5/5), peach cobbler (3/5), and sweet potato pie (5/5). My daughter ordered chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies (5/5) that were hot from the stove and a brownie (5/5). Yep, we ordered a lot of sweets but it was for our families. (wink LOL) The pricing is commensurate with the large portion sizes. The server/cashier was extremely polite and helpful. I appreciated that she was conscious of her gloves. She changed them every time she had to use the register. I will go back to try the soul food entrees with veggies. I highly recommend A Timeless Treat. There is plenty of parking. The food is good, however the portion size that they give has ridiculously decreased. understand inflation and all that but this is the only soul food place in the douglasville area that gives this little portion of food. Got baked chicken collards and one other side and banana podding. When I entered noticed an unpleasant smell but dismissed as place appeared very clean. Chicken was salty and just ok. Portion was generous. Collards had so many stems in it that made them bitter, no seasoning evident. Did not go down well. Pudding was good . Potato pie sizes are not as depicted on website. They come in small aluminum individual sizes and not worth the price even if they are good. read more

The customer service was great and the food was decent. I tried the fried whiting and it was just okay with a side of the collards. The collards did not have flavor but when I added some hot sauce it made them edible. The macaroni was okay I needed some black pepper. The baked chicken again no flavor but the gravy was good. The star of the show was the dressing it taste like it was made with love. You could taste a tremendous difference in the dressing compared to any of the other options. Visited this business on 09/12/24. Was in town looking for a good soul food restaurant. The place was very clean and organized. The service was friendly. I ordered sweet heat baked wings with mac and cheese and collards. I can't recall what my friend ordered so I will review my own experience. The wings were falling off the bone. The collards could have used more seasoning. The Mac and cheese was lacking. You know how you have to break the cheese when it pulls? Or wrap it around the fork? That kind of lack. I remember my friend getting m & c with her food and she said the same thing. The place is take out only which was a surprise as we pondered eating there. We wanted a sit down meal. My food came on a bed of white rice. I despise white rice. I would have preferred their grits as I didn't know my food would come with rice. Okay, let me be honest this place was suggested to me by a friend and I was told that had some great eats so I decided to go give them a try. After arriving to the located my first instinct to to look around and get a see what I'm dealing with. When I walk in the lady behind the counter appear to just look my up and down, so I spoke first and complimented the business without saying I was referred by a friend. After I spoke, the lady did speak back but was a little hesitant, maybe it was the way I was dress or my looks, I'm not a handsome person but I'm okay. As I was about her menu, some lady came in and she immediately, left me in mid-sentence to attend to other customers, mind you I had just walked in, after the lady mad her order, someone came in a picked up an order and after all of that transpired she ask me what did I want. I replied, I was just looking, have a wonderful day, she turned her back and walked away and I left. On a lighter not, the establishment was very clean the dessert was well displayed and I would have loved to try their food, the smelled so amazing in there, at the end of the day, people are supporting you business, spending their money, and if you can't respect that, I'm happy to take my business to someone that will. We found "A Timeless Treat" restaurant at the last minute, about one hour from closing and we were 45 minutes away. We took a chance and it was great, we arrived 15 minutes before closing. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We wanted collards and sweet potatoes, they were out of the collards for the day, but had just put some up for tomorrow. The owner was kind enough to heat them up for us. We ordered turkey wings, smothered pork chops and baked chicken. Everything was seasoned well, not overly salty.
