Seems like a low bar, but the truth is I've been unfortunate enough to have experienced a nightmare renovation with a terrible contractor so I was putting this renovation off until i had no choice but to move forward with it. I simply didn't want to have the same experience I had before. I found them through Angie's list and they were very prompt with setting up a meeting to get a quote, they were on time, they were open and honest about the job, and probably most importantly, I got a good vibe from Vigan, the owner. After having considered other quotes, I knew Batusha was the way to go. I messaged him and off we went. He sent me a digital image of what the deck job would look like when finished, he sent me his plans to stop the flooding in my basement with the sump pumps, and I approved it, and the work started. The work was done in a timely manner, he was always in constant communication, and he delivered exactly what was promised. The quality of the work is excellent and there were no corners cut. The pricing was absolutely fair, and I will 100% use him again for my future renovations. Once you find a contractor you can trust, that becomes your guy. Vigan is my guy going forward.

I got detailed quotes from 4 different firms, while Knockout Renovation didn't provide the cheapest quote, it was very competitive and I felt most comfortable proceeding with them. Both June and Keith have been great to work with and they helped me make the best of my space and proposed designs that fit my needs and aligned with what was important to me. The approval from the co-op board was a struggle and I had to negotiate on some matters with the board. This added significant delays to the work start date and I didn't get approval for everything I wanted. The delays threw some of my plans off. While these delays weren't coming from Knockout, rather from the co-op board, my feedback to Knockout would be to keep track of the average time co-op boards take to approve bathroom renovations and set expectations with clients accordingly. Once the project was finally started, Knockout Renovation delivered on the actual demolition and reconstruction work on time and made sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. I'm extremely happy with the outcome, the bathroom looks and functions great! I would use Knockout Renovation in the future again. Thank you for everything!

And now I have 13 Electrical violations to the electrical work done 7 years ago by Knockout subs that needs to be still remediated!!! Poor response by sub. Talk about a renovation with low-quality of electrical work and safety issues to live with even now in 2026!! Nightmare never ends. A very late apology, but saying 'we thought it was closed' is the core problem -- a licensed GC's name stays on the permit until it's verified closed, and that verification process never happened for 7+ years. The 13 open electrical violations and accumulated DOB fines are the direct result. Resolution would be great, but to date that hasn't materialized for the most important act that any GC undertakes during renovations i.e. permitting and city building code approvals.

From the moment I reached out, Samir responded right away. He is an unbelievably good communicator. Because of scheduling and logistics, we did a lot of texting, and he promptly provided me with a detailed written estimate. Once I chose my color, he handled everything -- purchasing all the paint and supplies, and arriving with his assistant fully prepared. They carefully protected and taped off everything before starting. They were highly efficient, clearly experienced, and paid close attention to every detail. On the first day, they meticulously removed all the cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, organizing everything carefully in containers. Then they sanded everything thoroughly. They took the doors with them, and just two days later returned to reinstall everything. The finished result is absolutely beautiful. My kitchen looks amazing, and I could not be happier. I would like to separate out the work product from the service aspect. The work product you can seen from the pictures - our bathrooms are transformed. It's one thing to select nice finishes and materials and another thing to install them with care and quality. They delivered on both. Then, there is the service aspect. My wife was late into her pregnancy when we started the work and then we had a newborn and a young child too while the work was being finalized. Samir and team were so conscientious - there were times when we weren't even sure they were there because the were working so quietly.
