I brought my dog here 1 time and will never again. She's stayed at other boarding facilities in the past and I've had zero issues. She lost 12 pounds in the 16 days she was there and was diagnosed as malnourished by Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital the day after I picked her up. Her paws were both infected and visibly bleeding as well. I was not informed that there were any issues with my dog while she was there. I even asked the trainer why she looked a little skinny in a photo I received and his response was that the kennel staff said she's been eating fine. I specifically explained that I was looking to correct some aggressive behavior toward unfamiliar people and basic obedience training. Half way through her stay I asked the trainer how she was doing with the aggression issue to which he said that is not something he can address due to liability reasons. I didn't expect the trainer to introduce my dog to complete strangers not employed by A-VIP and figured they would work with her with their staff. Apparently this isn't something they offer. What my dog learned was more controlled walking on a leash - nothing otherwise. This is not exactly what I expected or what I was lead to expect. The owner was incredibly unprofessional and eventually agreed to refund me $250 of the nearly $1500 spent for board/train, plus the vet bill due to her condition upon pick up. He had the gall to ask me if the vet found any underlying issues and if I had blood work done for her. She was completely healthy before coming to their facility - the issues were caused purely due to their negligence. For him to suggest there may have been another cause was completely ridiculous. Please stay away from this business. I thought the negative reviews may have been an overreaction, but should've stuck with my gut and never brought my pup to A-VIP. We love this place! They not only do they provide excellent care and loves from the staff, to whom are super accommodating and actually affordable! We have been taking our Doberman since we moved here and he was still a puppy. He stays for a couple days to "Go Party" with his friends and just go bananas! He loves it! I love when I pick him up, he's so happy and tired! I can tell he partied hard because he always has a "Doggy Hangover" for the most part of 2 days after! I HIGHLY recommend bringing your fur babies to go party and be doted on by the amazing staff. Love that they also groom him before I pick him up. DON'T forget to tip the staff well! Seriously disappointed with this place. I was excited to find an affordable boarding facility for my pup while I was out of town for a week, and the place just looked ok when I went to inspect it prior to dropping him off. There was some trash build up outside the facility that gave me some concerns, and some of the runs really are like small prison cells. I called 3 times while my dog Froderick was there for an update since they don't have cameras, and each time was told he was fine, having fun, etc. When my friend went to pick him up, he had gotten the promised bath and was clean, but was also badly limping. I called the next day and spoke to the guy who checked us in. Of course, he hadn't noticed anything, and said I'd need to call back in a few days to talk to the woman who worked there when she got back. Called, talked to her, same story - she didn't remember him limping or getting hurt. Said I'd need to talk to the owner and that she'd have him call me, but it's now been over a week and I haven't heard from anyone. So they clearly don't care about my animal or the fact that he got seriously injured in their care. He's still limping, and I've already spent over $100 taking him to the vet to get checked out and put on ant-inflammatories and pain meds. He'll probably need x-rays if it doesn't get better soon. Spend the extra money and take your animals elsewhere. Mine definitely won't be coming back here. read more

Our four year old dog DIED while at this horrible place. He was a completely healthy and young puppy. All we were told is that he was running around outside playing and he suddenly fell over and died. We are shocked and devastated. On top of this, they charged us full price and didn't return our leashes. They have not given us any information on where our dog's remains are even after almost two months. Please do not board your dog here! I paid over the phone for one week of boarding and doggie daycare every day) before dropping my great Dane off for the week. When I dropped him off they wanted me to pay again and when I picked him up they had no record of me paying and again asked for payment. I don't think he did anything but lay in the kennel all week. When I picked him up he acted sad and traumatized- barely looked at me and bolted for the door. His elbows were completely singed like he layed on hot concrete the whole time even though I gave them his really thick bed. We boarded here for the first time. 7 days. 4 dogs. All in a 10x20 space. All dogs came home with severe kennel cough. I called and spoke to Kirk about it. I was upset but not super angry till I had fellowship with friends last evening and found out they had the same issue after boarding there a few weeks earlier. Apparently this place is NOT sanitizing properly. Also our dogs came home very thin. And our friends said they sent exactly the amount of food their dog eats for each day, but it was returned to them on pick up. So what did their dog eat? What did ours eat? If you care about your pets well-being do not bring them here. I went there to get a tour before deciding if I would board my dog. It reeked of pee and there were no beds in the kennels. I asked the man "where are the beds?" and he got all flustered and said "...yeah we have dog beds and blankets...all that stuff". but there were none in the kennels. And worst of all...while I was waiting there was a woman dropping off her dog, who told the person working there that her dog had stayed there before, and the poor dog was scared and was REFUSING to go to the back with the person working there. These animals can't speak words but that dogs terror and refusal to go to the back sure said A LOT. I got the chills from this place and reading all the terrible reviews of animals coming back injured and malnourished just confirms my fears. Please read through the 1 star reviews! Also they have rescue dogs but the owner breeds dogs tell me how this makes any sense. They know how over populated shelters are but are still selfish breeding dogs as a hobby. Disgusting Beast, a 2 year-old pitbull and mastiff mix, spends most of his time confined to a small room with a concrete floor. This is our go-to pet boarding spot in Las Vegas because we have two dogs and one of them is a Dutch Shepherd that can't be handled by most places (bite history, dislikes people and other dogs). Kurt (owner) and Jeremy have handled him super well and our Dutchie actually gets excited now when we drop him off. All of the staff we've met have been great and we'll continue keeping our dogs here when we travel. Highly suggest this place to anyone else in the area, especially if you have a dog that is harder to handle for most people. read more

First off at pick up AND drop off none of the workers had masks on. I swear we still need to wear masks indoors right? Anyway, Picked up our pup and he was covered in poop. He was there for a few days and it was dried on him. Hope he wasn't like that the entire time. Staff not friendly at all. KEEP YOUR FUR BABIES AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I regret leaving my baby here for the ONE day I left him here!! Who knows what would've happened if I would have left him here longer (I had it scheduled for 5 days originally because I was going out of town for work). I dropped him off right before they closed and I had a bad gut feeling because I saw another dog being dropped off (the dog had been there before based on what the owner said to the person working there) and the dog looked scared and didn't want to go with the guy working there. But I just figured the dog was sad and didn't want to be away from the owners. After I left I couldn't stop thinking about it and later that night I started looking up reviews and was HORRIFIED. I saw ALL the pictures of severe injuries and the owners accounts of dogs coming home emaciated, skittish, traumatized, covered in feces!!!! HOW ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS???? Why isn't something being done about this and them being investigated?? I immediately wanted to go get Maui but they were closed. I worried all night. But in the morning it dawned on me that I don't need to wait until their opening hours I could bang on the door and tell them I need Maui now. I went at 6am and I managed to find someone in the front outside and I just told them "its an emergency and I need to get my dog now". They let me take Maui and we left asap. As I was driving home I noticed one of his nails was completely ripped off and bloody. I thought this could be from scratching...but how would that make sense if his other nails are perfectly fine only the ONE "thumb" nail is completely ripped off. I truly hope it was just from scratching and that nothing happened to him like all the other people on here have had happen to their dogs. I took him to the vet immediately and he had to get sedated and his wound cared for and put on antibiotics. He was also EXTREMELY thirsty after just the one day. Which makes me suspect that they didn't give him water because it was so extreme he was licking the outside of a water bottle and when I gave him water he drank sooo much. I regret not looking at these reviews earlier...before I left him there. Please be careful and don't take your baby here and risk them being injured or traumatized!!!!!! Thank you to the others on here that are warning about this place for others to protect their pups. A-VIP Pet Resort - Maui after I took him to the vet for his injury - Pet Boarding Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

If I could give zero stars I would. Under no circumstance should you board your animals at this facility. This post is a bit of a long read, but this is what we've brought up with the owner. After multiple attempts he refuses to respond to our calls / emails and will not take any action to make things right. At drop off on December 26th, both dogs were left with food from home and the staff was instructed to feed a certain amount. When we returned on 1-5-2023 we instantly noticed that Loki was much fatter around the stomach than he was at drop off. Before leaving all we were told was that Loki had diarrhea. We took the dogs home and immediately took them out for bathroom breaks. As Loki went into the rocks in the yard he was walking with a significant limp. He then found a spot and had diarrhea that was purely liquid 4 times. I attempted to give him pumpkin to settle his stomach but he would not eat. We also realized that his stomach was very hard. Meanwhile, Emi was excessively licking her paws and I noticed they were inflamed and she was limping as well. We then decided to take both dogs to the vet to be checked out. On the way to the vet Loki threw up a large amount of food. When we arrived at the vet Loki was taken straight back and the vet informed us that he vomited up an excessive amount of ingesta (dog food) then multiple times of bile. This leads me to believe that Loki was either left to free feed or staff fed him more than what we instructed. As a result of his excessive vomiting, Loki was hospitalized overnight & our vet informed us that he was showing foreign metallic or mineral looking deposits in his stomach that are inconsistent with his diet. His paws were also inflamed. Emi was treated for the inflammation that was in between the pads on all 4 paws. My final concern lies in the possibility that the staff used unauthorized and aggressive training collars on our dogs. When we dropped off the dogs the staff brought back our collar and leashes after they took the dogs back. When we got home and opened Emi's food container a metal pinch collar was found. I cannot think of one reason why this collar should have been anywhere near my dogs, let alone left inside her food container. At no point did the staff at A VIP Pet Resort call us to let us know our dogs were injured or sick. We paid for our dogs to stay in a dry climate controlled room, but based on the condition of our dogs when we picked them up I do not believe that was the case. They also bathed both our dogs without our consent and the dog bed we left was also washed. Given that there are reviews that mention dogs that were covered in feces and considering the state of my dogs paws I believe they were not kept in a clean dry room like they should have been. I'm shocked (and saddened) by the ratings of this place being less than 5stars. Here's where I think the bad ratings come from: This isn't a doggie hotel where your dog has a 50inch tv in its room, login web cameras, and a bear skinned rug. If that's what you want - this isn't the place for you. This IS a place that provides your dog with exactly what your dog wants: it's own indoor and outdoor space with a TRAINED staff - not some Highschool kid working a summer job. The staff there is the BEST I've ever experienced. Let me explain: I adopted a very skiddish boxer mix from the pound. She is the sweetest dog in the world with other dogs and (finally) me. With people she doesn't know she cowers and freaks out especially if someone moves their hands towards her neck. In other words, no one can put or take off a leash on her except for me. I'm a lawyer and my old job required travel to Reno in the middle of the week. I had to find a place to keep her safe for a few days. I tried my vet (which is amazing) but even they couldn't leash her just to walk her. I tried a high priced doggy day care and she didn't pass their test bc her tail was in between her legs and she was shaking. So I tried VIP - I LOVE THEM. I CANT SAY THIS ENOUGH. Here's why - EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE - she has trusted. She walks with them, allows them to apply and take off the leash etc. The staff is amazing with her. They also remember her (and me) every time. I've searched and tried multiple places. A lot of places have fancy rooms without a trained staff. Again if you want your dog to have a TV in its kennel then this isn't the place for you. If you want your dog to be safe, have it's own indoor and outdoor kennel with a trained staff - this is the place I'm sorry for anyone that ever had a bad experience here but I'm a tough critic and this place deserves 5stars. I'm not sure I should admit this but I'd pay 3xs the amount they charge just to keep their staff. 5stars over and over over read more

PLEASE READ AND BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS PEOPLE ARE LEAVING!!! This was horrible! I'm surprised my dogs are even still alive, though one is left very traumatized. My little puppy is terrified of the dark and was left in a cage in a shed with no light exposure, no air, no food, and no water, just darkness. I would give zero stars if i could! From the moment you arrive, the place is a dump outside, and there are dogs you can hear whining and screaming and crying as if they're injured. Staff was rude and unfriendly, They lost our three year old puppy, lost the other dog's collar and leash, and lost both of our dog's blankets! They stripped our puppy out of her clothes and both dogs out of their collars, as if they were worried about security cameras being attached, and we had to return four times upon pickup to retrieve the items that were sent with the dogs, as if they were being withheld from us. They tried to return the older dog to us without his collar and without the baby dog! We came to get our dog at ten in the morning only to be told she'd been missing since six that same morning. They promised to call if anything happened, but they never did, because they "didn't want to call that early". How do you lose a dog in a GATED facility?! When we first came, our older dog was dragged into the run by his collar, which was a red flag on its own, let alone the metal shed and cages the dogs are to be kept in at all times. I had a bad gut feeling but thought I was being paranoid. Turns out I wasn't. Come pickup day, it was worse. The man at the front desk was rude, and called us hostile because we were upset about the missing items and dog! His behavior was so bad, the customer behind us who was supposed to check her dog in left to go to a different hotel. They never called when the dog went missing, coming with all kinds of excuses! When they finally produced our puppy, who's usually energetic and happy to see us, she was tremoring hard and looked terrified, and was covered in some sticky yellow substance. It's also worth mentioning we had to take our dog to the vet for liquid IVs because she was so ill from not being fed or given water, and the vet confirmed that she is indeed traumatized from this experience. The vet had to clean feces and pee out of our puppy's fur, saying that it was obvious she'd been left to lay in her own mess, which is incredibly unhealthy. The staff had also left the dog food in the bowl for all four days to mold, so the puppy had to be given blood work to make sure she wasn't severely sick. Upon handing her to the vet, she freaked out horribly, which she never does, nodding towards the fact that she was abused in that "resort". She was very dehydrated which is a no no in Las Vegas heat, and now she has an ulcer and has lost a full pound even though she was only there for 4 days. My older dog is a fussy drinker, and both he and the baby downed two and a half bowls of water without stopping. She's not a big dog to begin with, originally only weighing 6 pounds, and now her bones are sticking out. She's acting all skittish and nervous as if she's been hit/ yelled at/ etc. They separated our dogs, which we specifically asked them not to do, and gave the baby cannabis oil; she still hasn't recovered. We've contacted police and animal control, as well as peta, to ensure this won't happen again to anyone else's dog. I personally will never do this again, and if you love your dog, you shouldn't either! I feel guilty for ever leaving my dogs in this torture house, and I would never trust this place ever again. Our puppy STILL hasn't recovered from this horrible treatment, and has now taken to crying in her sleep and gets nervous whenever anyone leaves the room without her. It's disheartening, really. I don't know exactly what they did to my babies, but they won't be returning. If this is treating pets like family, i would hate to see how these people treat their actual family. Our family was heading out of town for a week and three of us had dogs to board. We all dropped off our dogs at different times and we all had the same terrible gut feelings upon drop off. Staff was not friendly and not personable. They did not greet our pups. They just took the leash and walked off with them, then brought their leash back. I have boarded my dogs before and I have never been so worried about my dogs being at a facility. I had requested board n train for the week for my two dogs. I highly doubt they did anything with them. There were no reports from the trainer and I was told the dogs were too nervous/skittish to learn anything so they were not going to charge me. What??? That speaks volumes about their training program much less the facility! Before choosing this location, do your pup a favor and go take a tour! We didn't, but if we had we never would have trusted this location with our pups. read more

They did not feed or water our dogs!! One of them has renal failure and absolutely cannot go without water! They are sick, tired, and dehydrated right now! And high off cbd oil. They are neglectful and they are liars! They stripped one of our dogs completely naked and lost her and did not call niether of them had baths and they were both yelled at constantly. When we got home from Amtrak's Sacramento Valley Station, we grabbed our set of ready to go luggage then hit the road for Vegas. We'd brought along our dog April and her pal Misty for the ride. They both spent an evening at a dear friend's house and the next day we checked them in here at A-Vip Pet Resort. Not being a local I passed up the main road to this place several times thanks to Garmin. After a few drive-bys I found it... The minute we parked, this place emitted a warm and welcome feeling. When we walked in, we were greeted by a nice gentlemen who was at the front counter. He gave us a run down on what the resort had to offer and what to expect. He got acquainted with our dogs while we filled out the paperwork. Soon enough we all headed for the kennels. The kennels come in different sizes and are "roomy" whether you have a large or a small breed dog. There's a roofed and shaded area to protect them from the elements and also a dog run. Each kennel section area was separated by a fence for each others protection. Though they provide dog food (chicken & beef) during the stay free of charge, you have the option of bringing your own dog food. However, they do not allow you to bring your own bowls, which they'll provide. April and Misty happily shared a kennel. We brought a pillow, a blanket and their favorite toys. During our visits we'd see how eager dogs wanted to rush in. I gather these were the regulars for doggy day care. I even watched an owner get pulled by her dog on a leash. The dogs were greeted by name as they checked in which was pretty cool! For thirty-five dollars a day for accommodations, food and overall care we felt it was a steal! Besides doggy day care & boarding they also offered pet training and pet grooming services (we had their nails trimmed). Did I forget to mention you can check in your cats too? That's right... Prior to checking in your pets make sure that they are "kennel ready" meaning they're up to date with the latest required vaccination(s). Call the resort and your vet for more details. We're very happy and glad that we've found this place thanks to Yelpers! Next time in Vegas our dogs will be back. Great customer service and just minutes away from the strip!... read more

After reading the reviews of this boarding facility, I felt comfortable leaving my two babies there for four days. However, after seeing the condition they were in upon pick up, I will never board my dogs here again. I boarded my two medium sized dogs together for 4 days over the holidays (December 23-27). The only request I made was that they be separated during feeding because my older dog is a grazer so my younger dog will eat his food as well. When I made the request, it seemed like there was no problem. When I picked up my dogs, I was notified of a raw mark on my youngest's mouth but was reassured that there was nothing to worry about and that it wouldn't need vet attention. I wish the raw mark was the biggest concern. Both dogs were COVERED in feces and dirt. It was so thick that it took two baths to really get them cleaned. While bathing, I noticed scratches, cuts & raw marks all over my older dog which were not brought to my attention when I picked them up. Besides these minor marks, he had a HUGE gash in his bottom lip that was bleeding & scabbed up cuts under his neck. He was so thin that he didn't look like he had eaten in days. Beside the raw mark on her mouth, my youngest also had a scabbed cut above her eyebrow, raw marks on her paws & a bumpy rash on the side of her face. Both dogs' nails were so short that they continue to bleed 3 days after pick up. When I called to address my concerns, the owner stated that "they were really active" & that "those type of dogs are typically more active than others" (both dogs are pit mixes). When I asked about the feces & dirt, he said they should have been cleaned before being returned and offered a refund for the amount of two baths. When I asked about the weight of my dog, he mentioned that requests to feed dogs separately are a "big pet peeve" of his but that someone did indeed watch my dogs eat. The gash in the lip & scabbed cuts are still a mystery. I understand that dogs become depressed or have separation anxiety which will cause them to lose weight. However, my dog was skin & bones and was so weak he couldn't even walk up the stairs which was never an issue before. I was hoping to get an explanation of the care of my dogs while they were there, but instead it was immediate defense and no sympathy. I will never board my dogs here again. read more

Left our 2 male dogs there for 2 nights. We reserved separate kennels because our younger, more energetic dog sometimes gets a little too excited and rough with our older smaller dog. We went to pick them up and were told their beds had pee/poop on them. While waiting for the person to bring their beds, I took the younger dog outside. He had immediately had diarrhea that was dark red and had blood in it. I asked the person if his bed had diarrhea on it, and she said the bed had regular poop on it. I asked which bed had poop on it, and she said both, so they might have shared beds. I explained that we not only specified having separate kennels but also paid for separate kennels. Both dogs smelled of urine and poop. My younger dog's personality seems sad since picking him up and he still has diarrhea. I think this place should be investigated. The health and welfare of the animals boarding here is not ok. read more

Worst experience ever . I regret taking my baby there. If I could give 0 stars I would . My 2 year old English bulldog has always loved everyone in fact it's hard to keep her from running up to w person she sees, she just loves people . But she was afraid of the staff there. Not at first but the 2nd day I noticed it ( you see I came every day to take her out to be with me during the day. I paid for her the luxury suite , heated floors, elevated bed and a tv. I paid 35 extra to bring her late Sunday afternoon and when I picked her up Mon I noticed there was no elevated bed but she was on a flat worn out bed with all the stuffing coming out . So o didn't complain but I went and bought her a really nice new bed and a new kong toy. So next day when I come I notice her fur blanket is not with her or her toys. I asked why and was told they would find out . So next day I come I notice she's on that same flat nothing that had her on before , I inquired where it is and also the fur blanket both missing . Then the man goes in the ofc and a rude lady comes out and informs me there were dirty and being washed. ( when I picked up her to go home I notice the bed had never been washed as the tag was still on it undamaged) Everything I took her seemed to end up in the ofc not either her. I don't believe she was taken out to poop as every day I picked her up she couldn't wait to fun out to poop. I asked that the tv be left on for her and it was never turned on once . I had to afk they turn on a light for her as my baby was left in a dark cold room scared. The only thing I can say passive is I believe she was fed but each day I came she had no water and I had to tell them to put water down for her. She is traumatized to say the least . Pls if you love your baby don't take her. She was treated nothing like family like there as says . No elevated bed , no tv. Worst place ever, my baby would have been better left at home alone with food and water than going to VIP pet resort. This is the second time we left Little Prince in here. It costs $35 if you have your pet's shot record and $45 if you don't have it and they are placed in a separate suite. Suite is roomy...they even have a TV set in the room...I told the man in the reception, Little Prince loves The Lion King...:) Little Prince's hair was matted when we left him there and they groomed him. We payed $35 for his grooming, usually we pay $60-$80 when we go to Petsmart or other grooming salon. Had to do a daycare but needed to drop my furkid off at 10 am and pick him up at 9 pm. Not many place in or near Vegas can do this. The management and the owner were cordial and responds promptly. Took my yellow lab here this past weekend last minute and they took him in with no problems. The prices and location are really good compared to other pet hotels so I will be coming back here again when my dog needs a place to crash. Note: This place is kinda hard to find. GPS was not even able to find them. The main crossstreets are Warm Springs and Las Vegas Blvd. You want to stay on LV Blvd, then go west on Warm Springs until you hit a dead end (pass the Animal Hospital) and make a right til you hit Arby, then make a left. The pet resort is kinda tucked away in a corner at the end of the street. read more

We brought 4 of our dogs here for 7 days during our winter break because our normal vet was full. When we picked them up and got home we noticed all four of them had bites and scratch marks all over their bodies. They all acted different and one lost a tremendous amount of weight. No one called or notified us about anything. We were so upset and regret bringing them here. We will never go back again. And anyone thinking of coming here or care about their pets should consider and look at other similar complaints and photos first. We definitely don't want to see anything like this happen to your pets. It's very sad. read more

These folks are GREAT! Nice facility and well taken care of. Plus, I'm in and out of there in minutes for drop offs and pick ups. And more importantly, our dog enjoys himself and loves the people there. So, I don't even hesitate when the hubby and I want to go out of town... I call to make a reservation knowing our dog will be well cared for while we are away. For $20-25 per day for a small indoor/outdoor combo run, I think this is the BEST value in town. Great place! I was scared after reading A few bad reviews but had boarded there before with no problems. I boarded my 1 1/2 year old German for 14 days. I didn't have time to pick her up so for $30 I had her bathed and driven to my home. She actually gAined weight and had energy to go swimming once home. read more

Took dog there for five days. When we got her back she had no energy and has been very lethargic. Today I noticed she has diarrhea and seems really sick. Also she was supposed to be groomed properly but noticed all the hairs and dirt flying off her when I picked her up. Previous experience I had was good but this time very poor. Dog is still sick as it's her second day home. Concerned and disappointed. read more

Dear animal lovers, Please if you love you dogs do not take your family member to this place. Their suits are not suits. They do not feed our little doggie at all. Food was provided as well as instructions of what to feed him. My dog lost weight in three days. I am giving AVIP Pet Resort one star for at least having our dogs alive when we picked them up. We have three dogs. One of them was bitten by a Mojave Green snake at our property 80 miles north of Las Vegas on July 1st. We rushed him to an emergency after hours clinic in St. George, Utah. On the morning of the 2nd we transported him to a Veterinary Specialty clinic in Las Vegas. Before transporting our critically ill dog to Las Vegas, I called AVIP and made a reservation for two nights for our other two dogs. I packaged up meals for them (dry and Trail Toppers) and individually labeled the packages with the dog's name and the day and time to be fed. For example: Otis/Australian Shepherd. Evening: Tuesday. After getting our critically ill dog transferred to the Las Vegas clinic, we checked our other two dogs in at AVIP. They instructed us to leave their beds, leashes and the bag containing their prepackaged and labeled food on the floor of the front lobby. There must have been at least 10 or 12 other piles of dog food, beds, leashes, etc. in that area. I had seen that on our previous visit there during a different trip to Las Vegas and I thought it was kind of strange, but maybe a one-time thing. I would have questioned this practice this time but we were frantic to get back to our dog at the clinic. We were at the clinic until late that night and we returned to our hotel, exhausted. The next morning the clinic called to say that our dog was showing some signs of responding to stimulus and that we could visit with him. I asked if we should stop and pick up our other two dogs (to provide some added, familiar scent and sound) on the way to the clinic and she said that it would be fine. My husband went in to AVIP to get our dogs. We had not called in advance to let them know that we would be picking them up to take them to the clinic with us. Upon entering AVIP, the first thing my husband noticed was that our dog's beds and food bag were still lying EXACTLY where he had placed them when we had checked our dogs in the previous day. He looked in the bag and all packages of food were still there. Needless to say, he was shocked and furious. We were both sleep deprived and distraught already. My husband gave them a credit card and we took our dogs and left for the clinic. Their only response was to say that the owner was not available and they had to help some people that were checking their dog in before they could speak to us. One of the employees turned to another one and said, "She doesn't want to pay." My cell phone rang as we were pulling into the parking lot of the clinic. It was the vet telling us that our darling Tug had just passed away. Not only were we devastated that we had lost one of our lovely dogs but we were beside ourselves that AVIP, who we had entrusted with the well-being of our two other dogs during this awful time, had completely failed in their capacity as guardians of our animals. AVIP was recommended to me by a groomer in Mesquite, Nevada as a good place to board our dogs when on our trips to Las Vegas. We have used their boarding/day care services 3 or 4 times over the last couple of years. Had the circumstances been different on this last visit and after having seen the piles of neglected beds and food on the floor, I would have made other arrangements. I will not be leaving my dogs with AVIP again. I would advise you not to, either. read more
