He noticed that the system wasn't fully ready yet and explained that I needed to drive around 50 miles for everything to reset properly. Instead of going ahead with the test and charging me for a failure, he was completely upfront and told me to come back once the car was ready. That level of honesty is rare. He could have easily run the test and charged me, but he chose to do the right thing. Really appreciate the transparency and professionalism. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others.

Unfortunately, I have encountered too many of them across the United States. That's why I want to take a moment to sincerely recommend Cypress Auto Repair. I've known the owner for over 41 years, and no matter where I've moved or lived, I've never forgotten the honesty and integrity of this business. Recently, after some time away, I picked up the phone and called them again. I asked, "Do you remember me?" And without hesitation, they did. I brought in my Porsche for what I thought was a major headlight issue. But instead of taking advantage of the situation, they simply told me, "You only need to replace the bulb label, and we won't charge you for that--it's just part of what we do." That kind of honesty is incredibly rare. What makes this shop special is not just their skill, but the character of the owner. He owns the building and the land, so he doesn't have to overcharge people just to cover rent. When I asked why he doesn't charge triple like some other places, he humbly said, "Because I want to sleep well at night." That answer stayed with me. We need more honest people like him in every city--mechanics, lawyers, and dentists who care more about integrity than profit. The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. When I questioned why I see that it's recommended online he says that dealers will recommend this service all day but if you check the Toyota maintenance manual it says you don't need it. Man! I haven't even been to this shop yet and I'm already getting a good feeling about this place. It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. I'll update this review once I get the car in for my first visit. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

It gets busy there and I've noticed some reviews of rudeness and impatience. I've never ever experienced such. I'm certain, in those instances, the shop was full and those dissatisfied people did not have the patience. Guaranteed that if you're the first one there in the morning, their attentiveness is spot-on. John runs an extremely professional, honest business and I fully recommend them to anyone needing any sort of automotive service. They are highly rated and have been in business a very long time. Again, just make sure you get there early. They are always busy for a reason.
