My friend and I decided to come get our hair done after walking past this new salon last week! All of the services were so reasonably priced that we knew we had to come for an appointment. My friend got her hair cut and got 4 inches trimmed off + long layers added. The stylist (I'm assuming he was Allen from the website!) did a fantastic job and her hair ended up looking so much thicker and healthier afterwards, with the beautiful long layers and face framing pieces she asked for. I got an oil treatment because my hair was feeling like hay! They were so thorough in coating every strand with the treatment and I sat under a steamer until my hair was looking super moisturized. We both got our hair blow dried straight at the end and they managed to make my frizzy wavy hair look incredibly sleek by the end of this. The space was super clean and everyone inside was so so nice! I was speaking Mandarin with them but they also speak Cantonese and English. I found this newly opened salon and I'm so glad that I did! I used to get my hair permanently straightened when I visited China, in the US it's always insanely expensive so I've never tried it. This place seemed reasonably priced and the owner has experience in China, so I decided to give it a shot They did an amazing job, super strong attention to detail and care. The location itself is clean and well laid out. They are very talented and it clearly matters to them to do a good job. I saw someone else get a haircut while I was there and it looked super stylish. I got a haircut here on a whim on a Friday afternoon. I had to wait 20-30 minutes because they were already working on someone else. They started by washing my hair. Afterwards, I was seated in the chair. I showed a reference photo for the haircut I wanted and the stylist took a quick look and seemed to get it. There was definitely a language barrier, even though I told them I could understand Chinese and speak it a bit. The haircut itself took ~30 minutes. They did not style it afterwards so it was hard to tell how good it really was. I think part of the fun of getting a haircut is that that is the best your hair will look lol. I didn't think the haircut looked like the photo I showed, and more just like regular layers. However, I was expecting a lower price at checkout given they advertise 35% off online. For the price I paid, that means I would have been charged $75 for this haircut at the original price, which would have been egregious. Overall I probably won't be back unless I'm in a pinch. read more

Such a hidden gem in SF! My boyfriend got a haircut and perm here and absolutely loved it !! The stylist really knows what they're doing and gave great suggestions based on his hair type. I also got a layered haircut and it turned out so cute! ‍ Everyone here is super nice, especially the owner that friendly and welcoming. DO NOT GO HERE -- the customer service is beyond terrible‼ I had one of the worst customer service experiences here today ！！！！ I came in for a haircut around noon. After the initial cut, the barber asked me to wash my hair, but I was left with loose wet hair all over my face and neck, which already felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. After the wash, I noticed the haircut was not done properly. I politely asked if he could trim one specific area a bit shorter -- a completely normal and reasonable request. Instead of helping, he became visibly impatient and then suddenly started yelling at me, telling me to "Get out and FUCK off "‼‼I was honestly stunned and disgusted by how I was treated. No customer should ever be treated this way, especially for simply asking for a small adjustment to a haircut that was clearly unfinished. At that point, I felt so disrespected that I had to call 911. The situation was completely unnecessary and escalated only because of his attitude. Thankfully, another female barber stepped in, handled the situation professionally, fixed my hair, apologized, and did not charge me. I truly appreciate her -- she was the only reason this experience didn't end even worse. But the behavior of the older male barber (who seemed like the owner) was absolutely unacceptable. If a customer cannot even express basic preferences without being yelled at, then what kind of service is this? I am very disappointed with the service. I requested highlights and was told a base color was needed. The final result was very uneven, with patchy sections that looked white and yellow, and the left and right sides were not balanced. I experienced a strong burning sensation on my scalp as soon as the dye was applied and informed the owner immediately. I later returned once to give the salon a chance to fix the issue, but the correction did not improve the result and the highlights were mostly covered. I tried to resolve this privately afterward but received no response. This experience did not match what was discussed or the reference images. I would not recommend this salon. read more

It was great to see Allen again. I've been going to him for over 20 years and he's still the only one I trust with my hair! He just opened his new salon and it's incredibly clean, spacious, bright and super comfortable. Allen always does an amazing job with both cut and color. The haircut has beautiful, sharp lines and texture, the structured layers really give my hair volume without looking bulky.
