At first, I didn't really notice it, but then little by little, the place became unmanageable. It got to a point where I hated going home because I felt like I was walking into pigsty and it depressed me. After trying to ignore the issue, I reached a point where I decided I needed to do something because ignoring the problem was not going to fix it; and if I wanted to change the way I felt about my messy home, I needed to either spend the time cleaning or spend some money hiring a professional to help me. I'd never hired a professional cleaning service before and practically speaking, I initially had three concerns: (1) where do I find one? (2) can I even afford it? and; (3) can I find a trustworthy company where I feel safe entrusting them with my keys to come in and clean my place while I'm not home. As for my first question, I literally didn't know where to start. Eventually, I managed to find my way to Yelp and looked up services that are near me. I'm in Edgewater and based on my location, it recommended 4 places, so I requested a quote from all 4. Express Cleaning Team was the last to respond to my query but I'm really glad they did because it solved my second concern: cost. I originally had an idea of how much I wanted to spend but after receiving quotes from the first 3 services, I was left feeling disappointed because it was WAY beyond what I wanted to budget for a weekly appointment. It turned out that ECT's rates are so reasonable and affordable, my only regret is not having looked into this much sooner. All I had to do was to fill out their booking form on their website. Once I completed their dozen or so questions, I was quoted less than $100 a week to clean my two bedroom/one bathroom apartment. Now that I knew there was a service near my home that fit my budget, the only thing I had left to determine was whether I could trust them enough to give them a copy of my keys to clean the apartment when I'm at work. I wanted to make sure, so once I got an email confirmation from Jimmy, I asked him if it were possible to meet someone from the company on a weekend when I was home. Despite being outside of their business hours, his wife Fary graciously agreed to come by on Saturday to meet me and personally clean my apartment. I mean, how amazing and awesome is that?! It was her day off, but she still nonetheless took the time to come to my home just to meet me, give me the peace of mind, and did a truly AMAZING job. I didn't stay the entire time she was there but when I came home later that night, I was left speechless. I was so stunned and grateful for the care and attention that was clearly spent because everything was perfect. Honestly, it was like every little thing was carefully put in its place and every surface was expertly cleaned. You could easily tell how much care and attention was spent making sure I came home happy. If you're reading this review, you may be interested in hiring a cleaning service but have similar concerns about actually hiring one like I did. If so, I hope this helps in your calculus for reaching a decision. Effectiveness: They probably got 20% of the grime off my brick house before telling me it was not possible to get it any cleaner. I have to believe that a company that does this routinely could have given me a heads up that the "textured brick" or whatever could have made cleaning impossible. On the sections that did get clean, e.g. bluestone elements, there are uneven spray patterns indicating that they didn't attempt to do everything they could. Overpriced because I paid the agreed price for way less than the agreed upon service. Also- This is NOT a criticism as accidents happen but the handling deserves praise: several months ago with a different team, a cable in my husbands office was accidentally damaged during cleaning and the service was quick in their response remedy the error and it was handled professionally and quickly. After reading the reviews, I figured this would be a good place to comparison shop. Best decision I could have made!!! From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing business. Everyone was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Another very important point for me was that there was absolutely no sales pressure. That's a HUGE plus! Long story short, I had received a quote for over $46,000.00 for the cabinets I wanted. This quote did not include any extras like pull out tray/drawers, lazy susans, utensil cabinets next to stove, etc. The price I ended up paying for all of the same cabinets from the original quote from the other guy plus additional cabinets, special pieces, drawer pulls, lazy susan/utensil drawer/pull out trays/drawers, etc. was just under $21,000.00!!! This price was for the exact same manufacturer (Fabuwood) and same exact color as quoted by the other guy...That's a $25,000.00 difference! (If my actual cost seems like a lot please note I got an insane amount of cabinets/pantries, etc.) Also, I don't know how I was so fortunate as to work extensively with Furkhan, but he was incredible throughout the entire renovation process! Despite the fact that I knew what I wanted for our renovations, I knew nothing about the actual process/details. Furkhan was pretty much available 24/7 and spent an endless amount of time with me going over every detail, making sure I didn't miss anything I might need, and answering my never ending questions. He took the time to learn exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to ensure the desired results! He also came up with ideas that seemed minor but ultimately made the difference between me really liking my kitchen to absolutely loving it!!! (I still just look at the kitchen when I walk in and smile at the results). Another huge plus was that he worked seamlessly with my contractor and everyone else involved in the project (plumber, appliance place, etc.) to ensure the smooth flow of every aspect of the project. Even when I had a small problem with an outside vendor, he took care of it for me and made sure it was resolved immediately. He kept on top of everything going on and kept me updated accordingly.
