I had a great experience today with their DMV division. I had to transfer a motorcycle title into my name but didn't have a plate or title. Armed with only a blank check and some dmv forms I went in hoping they could help me, saving me from the actual DMV. Through random luck I got Sarah. She's amazing. She patiently helped me through my somewhat complicated transaction. She's was really easy to work with, very friendly and super knowledgeable. I even had to go out to my car to get a form. I would have felt like a real idiot if she wasn't so cool about. I'm sure others have said this before, but the DMV services alone are well worth the annual fee. Today couldn't've gone better. First, did you know you don't talk to a person when you need help? There is no one to tell if you are hurt or in danger. I called and the service sent me a text, then hung up on me. So I did the text. The text was sent at 9:54. The tow truck service used, Hadley towing, would not get to my car until midnight. I called the AAA again and this time they didn't hang up on me. I did wait on hold for 10 minutes. When the person came on the line I was told my request could be rerouted. But they didn't promise that would happen or that anyone would be out any earlier. I was fortunate that my friend was with me. She has AAA was able to get help in an hour. 1 hour. And she reported the issue 30 minutes after I did!!! This is no way to run a business. I'll be looking at other options for a car emergency tomorrow. read more

I would give this office lower then a 1 star if I could. I first spoke to Amber Peterson just under a month ago about my claim with AAA. I sent numerous emails to her asking for a simple update. I also left numerous voice mails trying to speak to her. After 3 plus weeks I called in. Spoke to a very nice guy Tyler, he made it seem that everything was being taken care of. I felt he really wanted to help. Problem is I called in today and spoke to a manager Amanda Thompson and she advised me that nothing had been done. The only reason this office should even get any credit is because of the professionalism of Amanda. It took her less then 10 mins to figure out the problem and solve it for me. My family and I have used AAA for several of our homes and all our cars for the past ten years. For the most part, we've experienced good customer service at various branches and over the phone. Until we were getting a new home insurance policy and were assigned to a terrible agent, Dalton Hattem, who is at this location. He had numerous mistakes such as misspelling names and was slow to get back to us. But most appalling is that he claimed he talked to my wife twice to get the policy revised and it was an outright lie as they never talked on the phone. This was a time sensitive matter which our loan processor needed. We responded to all his emails asking what he needed and called him numerous times and he was slow to get back to us and we voiced our frustration. Then today he was saying it didn't matter and just to pay over the phone another fee. I asked for a new agent to take over the new policy and we have yet to hear back from them. We just keep getting emails from Dalton apologizing, I just want the new agent's info to take care of this time sensitive matter ASAP. I used my passport because that is what I used online. Would not take them. Wanted exact documents not new ones of same thing. They wanted to see my expired license. Ummm, it's expired that is why I brought passport. I brought passport because they won't accept an expired license. This was a waste of time. I am here to get my license. You have access to when it expired. Look it up, you work here and you have my ID. Day away from work and If you want to see an expired iD, you probably should tell people before hand. Jamie Wolf railroaded, misguided, and completely misled my husband and I. It was a nightmare. I spend the past three weeks having to cancel AAA and returning to my old insurance. I made multiple attempts to reach Jamie and her supervisor and they never returned my calls or emails. The service was unacceptable. We had such good times too!!! Remember in 2004 when that smarmy idiot in the SUV backed in to my Mazda MPV and caused $4K in damage? Yeah, I really told him off in the parking lot when he tried to convince me it was my fault and AAA bitched slapped his insurance company into paying for everything! That dude was such a yuppie loser. And then remember in 2010 when that lovely MILF rear ended me on Jamboree and she had to pay $2K in damages? Mini-me was with me so I had to play it cool and not tell her what an idiot driver she is which she was appreciative of because I do look like the crazy gringo who is one spark away from going postal on your ass. Walter White is a piker compared to me man! Finally, this year 75 year old Pa Kettle rear ended me and he was waterboarded to the tune of $5K. Ah, the memories. But cracks began appearing in our relationship. First the Air France debacle last month illustrated to me that using your travel service has its disadvantages. There really is no reason to use AAA for travel when all the info is readily available online and airlines treat direct customers better. Your Westways magazine seems to have gone downhill a bit and I'm not sure if I can really trust your hotel recs anymore in a day where detailed user information can be found on Trip Advisor and Yelp. The final straw was when you took a 7 year old ticket and applied it to my insurance for the first time this year doubling my car insurance rates. Was that really necessary? I tried to talk to you about it but you are so uncommunicative these days. You don't listen to what I'm trying to say. Your rep just left a long rambling message and could not explain why now you added this to my policy? Relationships do not work if you keep bringing up old slights. So I started seeing another. I know you suspected this when I lost weight, started working out more, bought a new suit and got my hair cut. Of course, he is a bit smaller than most. Oh hell, he is a little green gecko. I know, it must be embarrassing to be replaced by a same sex relationship with a lizard but did you know that Geckos, belonging to the infraorder Gekkota, are found in warm climates throughout the world. They range from 1.6 to 60 cm. Most geckos cannot blink, but they often lick their eyes to keep them clean and moist. They have a fixed lens within each iris that enlarges in darkness! Pretty amazing, right? And get this because I know you don't like Karaoke but Geckos are unique among lizards in their vocalizations. They use chirping sounds in social interactions with other geckos. Plus their car insurance is more than half off even with one ticket and owned by the holding company of one of the richest men alive makes me feel safer. You know how much security means to me in my relationships. Hopefully you and I can be amicable for the kid's sake. I still have my life insurance with you to provide financial security for mini-me in the event I am called to the Big Winery In The Sky and we should be cordial with each other while he adjusts to these changes. Here's my mileage: Insurance I might as well start with this because that is the Yelp category AAA is listed under. This is the cheapest auto insurance that we have found by far. Fortunately, we haven't had to actually file a claim yet. Battery Service I've had to use their mobile battery service. Fortunately, my battery was just a bit corroded. Fast, courteous, and efficient. Discounts Dining, movie tickets, travel, etc. Travel Resources Free maps, travel guides, and even good advice from the travel agents. DMV Service I haven't had to use this yet, but who wouldn't want to utilize this service instead of waiting in line forever? Roadside Service Haven't had to use this either, but this alone probably makes membership a good deal. Smog Check On two occasions, I pulled up and just asked them to inflate my tires. They didn't even check my membership card. No charge. They even took care of my spare tire, which was pretty flat, and asked about my oil level. I've never actually come here for smog check because I've found a better deal elsewhere (refer to my review). Passport Photos Cheap, fast, easy. Find a Facility I found my great mechanic, Advanced Auto Care, through AAA. Have I reviewed them yet? I should. Westways Magazine I always learn something new about SoCal in each issue. I have moved twice this year and finally decided I should settle on a permanent address - a mailbox and just not hassle with address changes ever again unless I leave OC so that also meant I needed to tell the DMV about this decision of mine. I could have mailed in that piece of info in but I've been there, done that only to realize that it had been keyed in wrong so I decided I would just fill in my paperwork here and get it done. Very impressed with this location. Even when the office is crowded it never takes very long to complete the transactions I need. This is especially good when it comes to doing automobile registration that normally requires a trip to DMV. I don't know that they have the best prices at the auto club, but I do believe you get what you pay for. I am very satisfied with my auto club insurance and this particular location. The rude and entitled attitude of smog technician Peter in the smog center is the main reason why I will never have my vehicles smogged here again... He was rude and condescending to every customer that interacted with him. Telling one customer "I could have failed you just so you know!" And holding it over his head and speaking loudly about how smoke came from the tailpipe once and he's burning oil and needs to get it fixed. People cars and situations are personal and it can be stressful and embarrassing to have someone speak to you in that way about your car. The customer asked what he thinks it could be and Peter replied "it's a Mitsubishi" and laughed... the guy paid for his smog and left. Other customers would come in and he scared them off when they asked about smog and services yelling from across the waiting area "well you got 3 ahead of you and we close at 430 so come back Monday morning" and then just turned around and went back to the computer. Then lucky me, it was my turn. To give you context on the situation, my wife's car I was getting smogged has a muffler delete so the exhaust is audible to say the least bit nothing crazy. The other technician came up to me after i checked in and said "We heard your car pulling up and it sounds like you have an exhaust leak because your exhaust is loud". All I said was "oh a loud noise? Maybe it's the exhaust because i have a muffler delete, but either way I'll check it out thanks" ... that's it. Then peter comes up and says "I'll need the keys, DONT GO ANYWHERE!" So that's my first introduction to peter. I can see my vehicle is complete and peter calls me over. He has me stand by the engine bay with the hood open to listen for something. He then signals to his buddy, I'm caught off guard and they floor it... not even a gentle ramp up or anything. They punch the gas so hard with my head so close it startled me a bit. Peter began laughing with his other technician showing their true childish behavior. He then says "you hear that?! YAH! That's not your FANCY exhaust system!" He says waiving his arms around continuing "i know what I'm talking about...". I cut him off and tell him i had enough of this and I began to get loud with him.... he cuts me off and says "don't worry I ain't gonna fail you, just wanted to let you know it's not your fancy exhaust" I never said it was fancy exhaust. I said one sent nice to the other guy and said thanks and i would get it checked out. As they finished with my car they were laughing and rolling their eyes and took my payment. After that he parked my car with the driver side so close to the curb I had to squeeze in. I think this was also done on purpose because there were other spots open including the one I was originally parked in. I reached out to AAA on twitter and through their website and hoping for a resolution. If AAA doesn't rectify this issue then i will cancel my membership and discontinue all other services and business myself and others in my household have with AAA... I shouldn't pay $55 to be ridiculed by employees just because they hate their job. read more

This review is solely for their notarizing department. I'd say 2 stars because the staff was clueless on how to notarize a Certified License Certificate that was needed for the Board of Pharmacy. It took forever and was a complete waste of time... As a Premier member (their gold card, which is the next upgrade from the basic white card) for 3+ years, I expected better. So for $4 notary service, I'd AVOID going here unless it's simple documents. Being that this location is close to my work......I've been here probably 10 times in the last 10 years. They give consistently great service. Always courteous and professional. I've only encountered a couple of things they can't deal with....out of state transfers and such. But for 99% of your needs.......they can handle it and do it quickly and without any fuss or long waits. My registration tags had gone to the wrong address, and the DMV actually recommended that I go here rather than wait for seven years at the DMV office. I was able to update my address AND get duplicate/replacement registration tags here, and I must have waited less than a minute before my name was called. Normally I don't like to do this, but I want to make a complain about this agent called Marisa who works in this branch. I spoke with her on the phone a couple of days ago and I purchased the insurance from her. We talked first and I made the purchase. A couple of days later, she called and said due to the accident I had 2 years ago and according to their regulations, the rate actually goes up so I still have about $1000 needed to pay them. It's to an extent that I don't want to pay for it because it is too much for me. Even though she suggested me change the deductible options, it is still gonna be too much than what I expect. So right after I bring up the question that I want to cancel it, I can sense she got really pissed off. And she started to be very impatient with me and kind of pushy. She asked me to finish signing the paperwork so I can do the cancellation. I heard her and I told her I am planning to do it once I have time because I was working. But she called me again just to make sure I will sign it. Maybe she thought I might forget. But I just feel being pushed and very annoyed you know and as a customer, I don't really feel comfortable speaking to an agent that you can just smell she can't wait to hang up on your phone. At the end I canceled the policy and I think if I buy their insurance again, I definitely want to speak with another agent, not this person. read more

I did it again, locked the keys in my car. Yes, my bloody key does not alarm when it is in the car and locked. AAA deserves a big ZERO stars. I spent 2 days on the phone answering a million questions and doing a virtual inspection of my residence to obtain a commitment for coverage. I paid the full premium at the end of the 2 day ordeal by credit card against my better judgment. Then I am waiting for the binder in the mail that was supposed to arrive with in a week. After 2 weeks I try getting hold of the salesman to no avail. He has vanished into thin air. At the 3 week mark I get a bill for an additional 1000$ due immediately. There goes the competitive quote and now is a rip off. So after AAA's commitment they decide to jack up the premium over 50%. Very nice business practice. Then I spend 2 days trying to talk to someone about what is going on. Finally someone responds and tells me my policy is canceled effective 3 days ago. So now I have no coverage at all. What a waste of time. What an incompetent outfit. Will never ever deal with them again. More like a cheap used car outfit with salesmen fighting with each other over their commission. I ran out of fuel the other day in Los Angeles. I was not close to a gas station, so I decided to take advantage of my membership. First and foremost, it's very upsetting knowing there's no live person to speak to. So I was forced to proceed with automated assistance. Took 15 minutes!! I waited and received a call from the outside vendor, he said he was 5 minutes away. Soon after that I receive another call from this vendor but it's a different person. This female tells me I will need to have $10.00 cash to give to the driver for the fuel. Well just my luck... the driver will be at my location in less than 5 minutes, I have no money on me, I'm nowhere near a place to get money. So I tell this robot of a person. The automated system did not specify the payment that was needed, other than I would have to pay for the fuel. She begins to lecture me on that's not her problem and the driver only accepts cash. I try to reason with her but it was like putting a square peg in a round hole! The end result... she canceled my driver, and I saw him drive right past me. I thought Triple A was there to help motorists. Must be tough times where Triple A is forced to sub out the less qualified. I think the management of this facility has forgotten the importance of making the customer happy because of their interpretation of pandemic guidelines which are now causing the customer to be treated like we are subservient to their authority, even at the risk of violation of HIPAA and other legal rights. Having a car that has 130k + miles and having transmission problems and engine problems can be scary when you try and take care of the vehicle as best as you can but Frank whose one of the managers at this location has really helped me from start to finish. Even after my transmission was fixed they continuously help me with my engine such as changing out my knock sensors and correcting any engine related problems because when they hand over cars to their owners they TRULY want to make sure you never have the same problems occur no matter what. When it comes to cost they are very reasonable and with a 3 year warranty that they offer you can beat the customer service they provide. Last October I purchased a battery from roadside service. I have been a member for decades. I found out 5 months later, after purchasing another roadside service battery, that i was OVERCHARGED $25.00 in October for the first battery.. This extra $25. Is what nonmembers pay.. The service person entered my member number on the receipt but overcharged me anyway. Trying to get my $25. back has been a REAL PAIN and has taken 4 phone calls and filling out a reimbursement form and taking it to one of their locations. ALL of this has been a WASTE of my time and effort. There was no real apology for this wrong done to me. From March 19,2021 to today, I still do not have my $25.00! This is so wrong! Auto Club of Southern CA is not trustworthy! What happened to me was not a mere reimbursement. I was cheated out of my money, and would not have caught it, if I had not had to buy another battery for my other car. There is no excuse for my mistreatment. Because I was cheated out of my money, this company should have jumped on my case to correct it. AAA is fast to collect insurance premiums and Cancel your landlord insurance policy a few Days later without any explanation. I told the agent Valerie we were doing repairs on the house and a few days later I received a cancelation notice. I contacted Valerie and she said there's nothing I can do, it's a decision made by the underwriting department. I asked if she can find out if any additional repairs were needed besides remodeling the bathroom and putting a new roof which we had already started doing. NO Answer, no follow-up of any kind.
