I was trying to give AAA the opportunity to make things right for me but it's obvious now that that is not happening-- this place is nothing short of criminal. Let it be known that my family has been with triple a for almost 20 YEARS and I've been on my families plan for the last 5. I was kicked off of my family plan because I moved so I was forced to start my own separate policy. In January I sat down with an oceanside sales rep named Lorenzo. This individual quoted me $300 a month for the year. This was a price I wasn't willing to pay until he informed me that an accident on my record would fall of in February and my insurance would go down to $200 a month-- I only had to pay one single month of that hefty $300 price... sounds good right??? Well... I call in February to inquire about having the accident removed and it turns out they aren't authorized to do that, and never have been! Basically it turns out that my friend Lorenzo managed to get an extra $1,100 out of me. I called corporate who informed me you can only file complaints with branch managers (WHAT?!?). Then I get in contact with the branch manager Letti who understood how badly her employee had stolen from me, and was going to try to fix the problem. A simple refund wouldn't work because of their auditing system so she was finding other ways to go about it, and I gave her the time she needed. Fast forward to this week... they fired the sales manager in charge of my case, never informed me of the change, and the new manager Naomi has no idea about anything regarding what's going on. I catch her up on the case and she tells me I need to wait until after I send ANOTHER PAYMENT through. I told Naomi this would not work for me and it needed to be address immediately since I've already overplayed by $100 and I've been waiting 3 weeks for answers. (Keep in mind that I always pay my insurance upfront for the year to save myself interest so that's just more money they've managed to finesse.) What does Naomi do? She has LORENZO call me and tell me "so the manager just affirmed what I told you a month ago and we can't do anything for you". WHAT A JOKE!! You had the man I'm reporting for a clear bait and switch who stole from me to CALL ME? DISGUSTING BUSINESS. I am a college student who works part time and whose been with this company my entire driving life. An employee lied to my face and had me sign a CONTRACT on false premises... They provided me with a list of local DMV & AAA offices that are providing the DMV services. I've never had an issue before as this location is very quick and efficient at handling DMV requirements. If I can give ZERO STARS I definitely would. I literally went not to long ago. LEO was the person I spoke to regarding purchasing tags from AAA. He was nice at first till he started speaking to me as if I was a child that needed my parents signature after assuming I didn't have the car registered under my name. I asked a question if the register paper was pink which he laughed at me and made a joke about the registration paper - I took it as him making fun of me and was embarrassed to say the least and kept my mouth shut. I went to my car and grabbed the registration and went back only for him to try to look me up in the system and then going as far as to again talk down to me saying if I'm sure I have a membership - I said I should be under my parents but I guess to purchase tags at AAA you have to be an ACTUAL MEMBER w/ roadside assistance. I then told him to give me a second to call my mom to check, which he really wasn't having it cause he pushed my papers away pushing them off the desk. I'm not going to lie - my anxiety was causing my hands to shake and I was nervous but I persisted and called my mom - before I placed her on speaker the guy - LEO - didn't want to answer any questions till she was on speaker he would interrupt her as well as speak over her. I was livid how he was treating my mother as well as me. But I stayed calm. So after the phone conversation I went to the side and organised my paperwork he had pushed. After I was done I asked LEO for his supervisor- which surprise surprise!! LEO is the SUPERVISOR!! I wanted to laugh at the coincidence but didn't and tried my best with my anxiety and asked for HRs number - he refused saying and I quote, "I am not allowed nor permitted to give you that." I didn't argue with him and decided to go to another worker at AAA which LEO decided to follow me basically harassing me and laughing at me saying they don't have the information I need and that I need to speak to him if I have complaints but I ignored him, not wanting to make a scene but LEO and the other male worker who I spoke to laughed at me as he said, "I don't have that information, I just work here." I felt ridiculed and helpless. Which really didn't help with my anxiety - Leo then with his passive aggressive tone of voice was telling me that they can't help me which I then spoke up for myself - and told him the way he spoke to me and how he treated me and my mom wasn't right and as some one who works here he needs to be respectful since I didn't do anything rude to him. Leo was adamant to speaking over me and cutting me off but I wasn't having any of it and did it back which he then called me Out for it - his old man ego not being okay with it. I then interrupt him the same way he interrupted me and said no - you keep speaking over me and interrupting me but I'm telling you once I'm done speaking then you can speak. He didn't want to let me speak nor wanted to have the conversation instead he threatened me of him calling the cops. I know with all my heart I was nice and didn't say anything rude - I also understand how people have their own life and go through shut but I'm not okay with being treated rudely or talked down to because I'm a young individual who looks like you can mistreat and get away with it. I suggest anyone who needs to get insurance or tags DONT GO HERE - GO TO A DIFFERENT OFFICE OR GET A DIFFERENT INSURANCE. After what I went through today I had an anxiety attack and spoke to my dad what had taken place - they'll be canceling their memberships after years and years of being with them. read more

Also found not only great travel books but got a couple of free travel books for Germany. In particular a woman named Maria was incredibly friendly and helpful and just a pleasure to work with. This review is for the DMV service only. I have a membership so I renew my auto registration here. Went on a day when it was not busy, waited less than 5 minutes. Service was friendly. I would recommend going to this AAA office over the San Marcos one. The San Marcos AAA has really bad customer service, rude employees, and long wait times. Came in today to check and see if they were still doing vehicle registrations and they were (I'd read they had stopped during Covid). The gentleman at the counter was very friendly/ helpful and explained the approx 1 1/2 hour wait based on how many people were checked in.... He suggested I go to an alternate nearby location( he could see how many people were checked in at the time which was a nice bonus). Something AAA does not tell you unless you read the detail fine print they are not responsible for any tows if your car gets damaged it's your problem not theirs They have damaged my driveway because the tow truck was leaking gear oil really bad they refused to clean it or get anybody to clean it they towed my trailer and motorcycle and put my motorcycle through my trailer window because the guy had never told the trailer before and both times are saying it's my problem not theirs It's better to go with the insurance and tow that your insurance company gives or through someone else other than AAA read more

I've been itching to write this review. I've had AAA since I was 16 years old and have always valued their superior performance. But I have never been given such inconsistent information in my life about our renters insurance policy. We started off by being told to get items appraised for an endorsement to our renters insurance for those items that are over the covered value. No problem, I walked in with appraisals. Then, they said we had to bring in all the items (including music instruments and amplifiers) to be photographed. I was frustrated at not being told this originally and spoke to a manager, and they were supposed to send an adjuster to come to our house and take photos. Getting kind of overboard but fine. So I get a call to schedule the appointment, and they aren't accommodating to my schedule at all. I get frustrated and the woman hung up on me because I was yelling (I was not). I called corporate and reported the entire office. A couple days later corporate says none of our expensive items cost enough to add an endorsement but they also aren't covered under our renters policy and gave us no options for any insurance on these valuables. I've been with AAA for over fifteen years, and I am done. I am pulling my renters and auto policy and going elsewhere. I was running in circles and the target changed every conversation. The managers don't care about clarity and customer service. Beware of their renters insurance. I'm taking all of my needs to another company. I'm so disappointed in you AAA. read more

This Auto Club office has turned in to the California DMV. I work Mon-Fri. Saturday is the only day I have to go make arrangements for an upcoming trip. I check in and then see people checked in after me being called for their DMV services. I ask the man at the check in why DMV is getting called before travel. He says: there is only one travel agent here and she's going to do a title transfer before she can help you. I say: WHY is DMV going ahead of travel? He says: Because you want us to map your driving trip AND make hotel reservations and it's Saturday and we're too busy. So, if you have ONE travel person on Saturday, shouldn't that ONE person be doing travel for members that HAVE to come on a Saturday? No comment. I said:just take me off the list. I walk over and ask one of the window folks if I can get the name or business card of the office General Manager. She has no idea. Hands me a couple of cards and says try here. At least she tried to help me. 28 YEARS I have been a member. 28. No one cares. A guy waiting for DMV forgot his cash. He had to wait for his wife to get there with the cash and they took him back to the front of the line. No waiting. Not prepared? No problem. No waiting. I don't think anyone could even begin to argue that the opportunity to bypass the DMV is worth anything less than $100 a year. BAM. AAA Membership. $50 a year. No DMV. BEAT THAT. Sure, they'll change your tire if it blows up on the freeway and you love your new outfit too much to change it yourself. They'll come to your rescue when you lock the keys inside your car like a total idiot (again). Free tows, hotel discounts, and 10% off at Banana Republic Outlet doesn't even begin to cover it. But all that's just icing. The incredibly understated value of a AAA membership is the opportunity to renew your registration, change the address on you license, or transfer a used vehicle without ever stepping foot in the DMV. Now if only they had a membership that could save me from going to USPS. As a side note: AAA car insurance is also pretty damn good. Like a total poster child, I saved $500 when I switched from esurance to AAA, and the service is 100 times better. ALSO: If you're in the San Diego North County area, make the extra drive to the Oceanside AAA office over going to the Encinitas AAA office. This is my third time at this location and my third really awful experience. (I have never experienced anything remotely like this at any other AAA.) First of all, the employees here treat people like they are jaded DMV workers herding cattle. Maybe, just maybe if you were communicating with people outside and things were just a little more clear, you would not have people losing their temper and yelling at you all day. Every time I have been here, people are pissed off and angry at the employees. Your signs are NOT clear. BEWARE: DMV transactions cannot be done with a Visa/MC Debit card. I was told there were signs posted. Yeah, there is one sign outside that says in fine print at the very end that it cannot be a debit card. I am familiar with the fact that you can't use a card for the DMV stuff but when the sign says in big letters at the top that you CAN use a Visa, that is EXTREMELY misleading. So now after being rudely told it would be a 40 min wait when I got here, waiting for about 20 mins, having to run and get cash, and not waiting again, I am less than pleased with this entire experience. I PAY YOU GUYS! I don't mind policies. I don't mind waiting. I mind the bitterness that I was treated with at the check in after being nothing but completely pleasant and being told 40 mins by a lady who clearly remembers me from my last horrible experience. The person after me was given a completely different wait time. How about making an effort and finding out the information. I have yet to get a response from our insurance agent PHILLIP POWELL. He claims to be their number one agent. I purchased a new vehicle less than a week ago. I have been a AAA roadside assistance member as long as I have had a license. I was hit by someone insured by AAA two days after I purchased my vehicle. The driver was an old man who was very unaware of the situation and didn't have his glasses on preventing him from reading signs and my insurance card. The driver was unaware that his lane had merged with mine. He was driving in the bike lane on my right side in my blind spot and when I slowed down to make a right turn into my apartment complex we collided. I was the only one to take photos and be proactive about reporting the accident to both my insurance and AAA. I dealt with a women named NATALIE HALE. Her photo is below for reference so that you know to avoid her. She seemed nice up front and even said after I gave my statement the situation seemed very clear. Unfortunately, the elderly man gave a different account, saying I tried to pass him on the left side and turned into him. NATALIE HALE claims his story matches up by where the damage is on his vehicle. She claims to have looked at my images and Google Earth to see that there is one lane each way and a center divide until right before my driveway. There is no evidence or logic to back up why or how I would have gotten on his left side and then turned into his front driver's side when I was trying to turn into my driveway. NATALIE HALE (I want to make sure you remember her name to protect you from being screwed by her in the future) refused to back up her denial of my claim with evidence beyond the elderly man's false story even though it is filled with holes. She knowingly and unethically is trying to screw me over so that AAA doesn't have to pay any damages. She is trying to put blame on my which will impact my driving history and insurance rate. Please be wary of this and avoid NATALIE HALE. If you find yourself on the phone with her for a claim I advice you request someone else as she will not do a quality job, even for someone who is a AAA member like myself. read more

Me and my family have been with AAA since I have memory. On 2016 I was in a mild car accident that wasn't my fault, the guilt party was as well a member from AAA, my first though was that this was going to be an easy claim. I was very wrong, AAA behaved horrible rude and unprofessional handling my claim. I now come to understand that they where protecting themselves trying as hard as possible to spend the less amount of time, effort and money in my behalf. I had no one from AAA representing me or handling my claim in a way that was within my best interest, they where spending all their efforts protecting the guilty party as they where protecting themselves. A woman name Vea was handling my claim, she was not only rude but unprofessional and kept somehow losing my paperwork and emails, after dealing with her for a year I finally contacted her manager and I was very surprised to realized she was even worse than Vea. Dealing with a car accident is not only painful but stressful but dealing with AAA has been one of the most stressful situations I have had to deal with. It blows my mind and it is so hard to understand how can a well established popular company can tolerate having such rude and unprofessional employees. The best insurance agency EVER! I have then for home insurance and auto insurance, and never had any problems with them! I had to recently file a home claim due to a water pipe leaking and by the afternoon Carol Miles returned my phone call and stated she could come by to assess the damage. She's super professional and friendly and answered all my questions. She even called me the next day to see how things were going about finding a plumber and dry wall repairman. Also when I've gotten into car accidents due to other drivers (I promise it wasn't me!), the insurance person has always been such a help. The biggest reason why I changed my car insurance is because Farmer's kept increasing the price for our coverage even though nothing had changed! No extra people, still same cars, no claims filed! Plus I had never spoken to my Farmer's representative ever, I always kept getting his assistant or receptionist whenever I tried to call about why my payment was increasing and even his receptionist said, "If I were you I would change to!" The reason for coming to AAA is that they're are non-profit! So no increases in my insurance and I actually had a representative call me to tell me that I'm paying more for my instance than I should for one of my older cars that I have! Essentially I was OVER insured and they corrected it! What company does that?! Plus another perk is getting the AAA tow each year is that instead of the regular $90 or however much it is annually for towing, it's only $25! That's because I've been with them for so long and as long as they're around, I will always be insured by them! read more

I have had AAA for years: car, home and roadside service. Every time I called for svc I got recordings asking me if I lived in a certain state which was 8 yrs ago. Odd bc I have all my policies here in CA, and pay for them here. Don't know why they're not updating. Battery died so called AAA & got recorded options, questions & prompts until someone finally got on the line. Don't know abt you but typically a svc is needed bc you have to be somewhere. Then wait too long for someone to come. They're always pleasant tho when they do so that helps. Battery died again same week & went through same thing again. This time he tried to sell me a new battery... until I told him I had purchased one from AAA 6 mos prior (had to, was in a jam). Hmm, suddenly battery was ok, just needed a good charge. Huh? They were trying to sell me a battery I didn't need. Ended up getting alternator replaced so all was good but was bothered by the attempt to push a sale I didn't need. Not ok AAA. Same week was downtown at night when my tire blew (bought that year & don't drive a lot of miles. It was a Bad week for me & my car). This time it happened in an area I didn't know, was very dark, unsafe place 10 pm., Called roadside svc. Recorded msg asking if I was calling from (old state)? Not in the mood. Number of recorded prompts again until someone finally answered the phone. 20 minutes later! Seriously? You're calling at 10 pm & they don't think it might be an emergency?? Isn't that what they're called, Emergency Svcs.??? She asked if I was in a safe place? " NO! I need someone right away." Described the area & that I was alone. Sorry, she couldn't get someone there for an hour. WHAT? How is that even freakin possible! This was San Diego not the boonies. Again said it was very unsafe & there was nowhere safe to go & begged & pleaded for help. Oh well, not for an hour. Why did she even bother asking me if I was safe if she wasn't getting someone there for an hour? I was trying hard not to freak out but lost that battle when soon after homeless men began to come out of what seemed to be nowhere. They began walking up to my car, knocking on my windows, looking in my windows, looking at me. Somehow I played calm in my car, by the grace of God, but not on the inside. I didn't know what they might do. Female there alone, nowhere to go, & knew no one in the area to call. Can't tell you how scared, & angry, I was. I was at the mercy of triple freakin A. If it were necessary I was ready to drive on a blown out tire, that would've ruined the trims, wheels which I had bought same time as tires. Was trying to avoid expensive fix so was trying to avoid, was hoping roadside would show up sooner. I really didn't want to ruin them but was on the ready. Almost an hour later tow truck came. Had literally been watching the minutes on my watch. He apologized & stated it WAS a dangerous area (no shoot Sherlock), that at night all the homeless come out of a riverbed close by. Can't tell you how grateful I was when he arrived. But I have to tell you, and AAA, that in no way, shape or form was that acceptable. I'm not litigious but did they want to get sued? If something had happened to me? Advertise a svc but don't provide that svc in a Safe & Timely manner? I wish I'd had the peace of mind to get that operators name. Here's the deal: I've been with AAA for Years. For the most part I've been pretty satisfied & I rarely needed the svcs. But the last 2 yrs I have and they've been horrid. They need to be able to get someone on the phone immediately! Put a prompt on there stating if in an unsafe place press this number. How hard is that!? If not enough workers then hire some!!!! Something really bad could have happened. Thank God it didn't. My renewal comes up in 2 mos; do I renew or find somewhere else? Anybody know of somewhere? I can't risk that happening again. I would love to give AAA five stars because they are great with registrations and all the paperwork for my vehicles And Boat. The problem I have is, when I try to start using them for Travel they told me if I came in before the end of October 2019 I could get a trip to Puerto Vallarta for the same price I usually pay through Costco. I came in three days early and they told me it was double the price. Completely Unacceptable and I will never use them for travel again! THIS PLACE BLOWWWWSSS I went into AAA to get insurance information. I sat down with a guy and he explained to me the insurance options. He asked to me fill out some information so he can "build a profile in case I decided to get insurance" I wanted to explore more options as far as insurance before committing to AAA. It was my mistake of of allowing him to get it set up in case I decided to go with AAA. Piece of SHi7! My parents had them as their carrier and told me these people are ok. So I trusted my parents.I told the guy to hold off on the insurance. He told me he wouldn't process it but to at least call him to let him know. I did, I called and told him that I was going to go with another carrier. He was upset but he said good luck at the end of our conversation. I figured it was cancelled no harm no foul. A month later I got a letter in the mail saying I owed AAA money. I called their collections department and they refused to cancel the amount due. I checked my credit report and they had sent it to a collection agency. So I GUESS AAA SETS UP POLICIES WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. HMMM GREAT BUSINESS PRACTICES A$$HOLES!!! THEIR COMMISSION IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN DOING WHATS RIGHT FOR THE CUSTOMER. PEOPLE CHECK YOUR POLICIES GUARANTEED YOUR GETTING ASS RAPPED WITH NO VASELINE. I am with GEICO and i will tell you what their customer service is superb and when i did get into an accident they were on it. I was able to do claim on my phone, phone call within seconds to check on me see if i needed an ambulance, tow truck there in 15 mins, i can go on and on. I tried calling later down the road to see if they would budge again the collections lady hung up on me the minute i began to plead my case. F@#% YOU VERY MUCH SOMETHING THAT RHYMES WITH STITCH!!! I'll keep this review short, sweet and to the point. Is your car registration due but you don't have time to go to the DMV and spend 3 hours waiting in line and filling out wrong forms and all the other hassles along with waiting at the God Awful place that we are all imagining while grinding our teeth? Well if you are an AAA member this is the place to go. I recently came here around 12 in the afternoon to pay for my cars registration and get new tabs for my car. I was in and out within 30 minutes. What more can I say? Great friendly staff and all around just a happy place to be (maybe that's because your never here for too long). Just be advised that they only take cash or check, no credit cards. Granted this is also a great place for other things like travel plans and stuff but the only experience I have had here is for my car registration. read more

First of all I have been a premier member since 1989 and here is how they treat a long-term client. Even if it was someone in their first year of membership they shouldn't be treated so poorly. I had to call them five times and since the first call they told me that my order was documented and I would get text updates and if I needed to call back whichever operator I got would know what was going on. I was locked out of my vehicle for more than three hours. Finally on the first call I found out from AAA that they said that dispatch was behind and even though I got text updates saying my service provider was dispatched they actually never were. A locksmith never came and I had to get into the vehicle another way. (Without AAA's help even though I've been a member for close to 32 years.) Oh, one of their operators hung up on me because I was asking him why it takes 3 1/2 hours to get their AAA contracted locksmith there who is based about onl about five minutes away from my location. The reason I know this is I know the name of the locksmith. He called me after I had already got the vehicle open by somebody else and he was actually a really nice guy and then said that he could've been there in about 10 to 15 minutes if they had ever called him. Because four out of five of the people I talked to where incompetent and obviously untrained and made no notes in the system and did not make sure that the service provider was dispatched I will be contacting auto club management to request a partial credit on my membership for this year. Such an egregious fail! In my opinion the other club is going downhill and management is failing. If I was locked out in a blizzard in a remote location I probably would've been dead. AUTO CLUB OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA --BAD NEWS. Yes, of course I'm mad. When you pay your dues and especially the highest dues for the highest plan it's reasonable to expect prompt courteous service with follow up. None of that happened. read more

Worst service ever. I have been waiting for 4 hours for a tow truck. The driver called and said he was 20 minutes away but never showed or called to say he was lost or anything. I called back after an hour and they said the driver could not find me and went back. They dispatched another truck, I waited for a phone call to say they were on there way but got nothing. I called back and they said they didn't know what happen and dispatched another truck after I gave them details of where I was but said it would be another hour. I ended up taking the tire off myself and rolled it down the road, thankfully a nice passerby stopped and gave my tire and I ride. read more

1st time visitor, 1st time reviewer. Came in a few days ago... Wonderful service from the front desk and the DMV section, but there is no way I'm paying $18 for a piece of paper that says I live in North County SD. I came in a few days ago to get a copy of my vehicle registration card and was told that it would cost $18 for a duplicate card. -WOW- The DMV prices are retardedly high. They also don't accept credit card or debit card. Cash or check only, boooo!! So, I would definitely return to this AAA branch if I ever needed anything AAA service related and maybe even DMV related. I just don't see how $18 for a piece of paper can be justified. One star off for ridiculous pricing. The rest of the four stars was well earned. AAA all the way! read more
