Wonderful service from the front desk and the DMV section, but there is no way I'm paying $18 for a piece of paper that says I live in North County SD. I came in a few days ago to get a copy of my vehicle registration card and was told that it would cost $18 for a duplicate card. -WOW- The DMV prices are retardedly high. They also don't accept credit card or debit card. Cash or check only, boooo!! So, I would definitely return to this AAA branch if I ever needed anything AAA service related and maybe even DMV related. I just don't see how $18 for a piece of paper can be justified. I had an extremely bad experience with your agent Adrian Sanchez over the past few days. Last week I got Renters Insurance for my new apartment and it was supposed to be an extremely easy thing to just pay fifty bucks and send the proof over to my leasing manager. Well.... first he said that I couldn't put both me and my girlfriends name on the same policy and that we were going to have to pay for two different policies, which he was "very happy to help with".... I'm sure he was well anyway, my leasing office said that was ridiculous and we shouldn't have to pay for two different policies. Long story short, I've been with AAA for four years now and it shouldn't have taken me 5 days to get my girlfriends name on the policy. Don't ever go to the DMV again! Get on your AAA game ASAP. (Oooh, acronyms!) Every time I've been to this particular location I've had great luck in not having to wait hours for assistance. The staff has been continuously kind and genuine, yet to the point. AAA seems to aim to get you in and out in as little time as possible and I'm all for that (especially if I've got my two spawns in tow). Check in with your AAA card as soon as you enter and find yourself a seat :) Air Conditioning, yaaaaaaaas. One stop shop for taking care of insurance and all other automotive related needs, and the location has enough room to not feel like your going to catch the cold or foot fungus of the person sitting next to you (i.e., DMV stylee). Transferred the title of my new car without any problems and on the same trip I got my husband signed up for car insurance. Only took us about 30 minutes to do all of this! The agent that got us all squared away on the insurance-front seemed crass, but he was great at applying all the deals! And he turned out to have a sense of humor once the leg-work was done; sort of like a mullet: business in the front, party in the back! read more

I was looking for new renter's insurance. I used to have a policy with State Farm from. My agent was Lisa Keith on Rosecrans. I had no issues with State Farm's policy, nor did I have an issues with the price, but their customer service was horrible. Their automatic payment was never on the same day and at times the charge wouldn't go through. I would always pay the next day or a few days later online. But, without fail, she would call my apartment complex almost immediately to inform them my policy was canceling. Then I would get a call from the leasing office asking for a new policy. The hassle and time it took for something so unnecessary was beyond frustrating. After having a policy with them for 3 years, and dealing with this a handful of times, I decided it was enough. I had AAA's roadside assistance plan and decided to look at combining my auto and renter's policy. I spoke to Jonathan Henson. He was very friendly and understood the frustration I was having. He was able to get me a great rate, even better than State Farm. I made the switch and I am so happy I did. I also had a ton of questions and I never felt he became annoyed or frustrated. Kathy H helped us with title transfer (first time I was selling a car) she knew exactly what we needed to do, how to fill everything out and even though I had lost the pink slip, we were able to order a duplicate right then and there One thing that might be neat for AAA to consider as a service. When selling a car to a private party whom you don't know, there can be trust issues. it would be cool if AAA acted as an disinterested 3rd party. The buyer gives the cash to AAA rep, the seller signs the transfer of ownership, the the seller gets the money and the buyer gets the keys. Another idea... Letting some random person test drive your car can be a little tough, esp for woman. I know this rarely if ever happens, but what if the buyer locks the doors and just keeps on driving with you in the passengers seat AAA could provide a service whereby AAA person oversees the test drive somehow. Perhaps they simply get copy of buyer drivers license, a photo of them, photo of car, etc. And the seller (i. The passenger seat) has an app that if activated notices AAA ASAP on the off chance their is an issue. read more

I have been a AAA member for years, and never do find myself inside the actual AAA building. However, in the past month, I have managed to need to go in twice. Both times they were extremely helpful and very pleasant. During my most recent trip, I needed to pay my registration and was given my tags immediately. The whole process was fast, efficient, and painless. The complete opposite of the DMV. Side note: They only take cash and check. No debit or credit cards. Do not get homeowner's insurance from Triple A - You will be living a nightmare if you do and God forbid you will have to use it for an emergency. They will say one thing one day and it is a different story the next day. You won't know if you coming or going. Who needs it, especially when your stressed out trying to get temporary housing while the repairs are being done. You will have to call several different people and entities just to coordinate the events otherwise you will be out of luck. read more

I rejoined AAA to register an out-of-state motorcycle purchase, in lieu of the California DMV. AAA DMV counter employee was curt, rude, and condescending (to someone who is not only a Consumer Advocate professional, but and advanced practice cardiology specialist). She was of no help. I called seeking a supervisor to discuss this, and that employee refused to give me the name of that manager or the owner! I wrote to AAA's national CEO. He ignored my email for a week until I told him again what I do or could do (Investigations, reviews and lawsuits). He then had someone else reply for him! They also mis-spelled my member name. Locked my keys in the car AAA cancelled the tow truck 3 times. After waiting 3 hours and more then 6 calls to AAA finally asked to speak to a manager and he had the nerve to act like it was my fault and did nothing. Called a lock Smith 20 minutes and 65 dollars later I got in my car. This company is a joke. Why pay for a membership u cant use. I usually gush about AAA and the services that they provide to everyone. However, I went to ensure that my son's DMV paperwork was in order and the lady who was working the second to last booth and the gentleman that was next to her were taking care of the customers. The two employees who were closest to the window were designated to assist current registrations which is not a problem but when there is lobby full of customers not conducting that type of transaction you would think that the other employee would pick up the slack. Is it really necessary to have two windows dedicated to immediate registration especially with a lobby of people waiting??? My car was hit while parked at work. What a nightmare! Luckily I called AAA and Martin Celoski, with my agent. I have never had such great customer service before. He listen to me, talked me down, related to my situation as best as he could, and assured me that things would be OK. He even went out of his way to make sure that all I needed to do was drop my car off at the collision center and catch the ride HE, himself, coordinated for me, to go pick my rental up. Martin gave me a few tips as far as not going forth with any "up sales" via enterprise, and assured me the situation would be handled diligently. He was very respectful and VERY patient with me. Gave me all info necessary and assured me that he would handle things and follow up with me as we moved forth. He is an excellent REP for this company and has followed through with every word. I have been a member for 8 years and have maintained all of my insurance needs through AAA. Been a very happy member until today. Recently I wanted to make a change to my airfare that I purchased online at the AAA website. It turned out to be extremely difficult even with the Allianz travel insurance to change or cancel my trip. Come to find out, AAA uses and does not provide information on the website that trips are actually purchased through a third party, Priceline. When I visited the Oceanside,CA branch I was told that travel associates could not help me because I made the booking online. I felt stranded and left out in the rain and that they did not want to help. I would of been better to make the booking direct with the airline. read more

My wife and I have been dues-paying members of AAA for 44 YEARS! We pay hundreds each year for our membership and have used their travel agency numerous times. Over the years our travel has increased as has the cost, we have given them more and more business. My estimate is that we have spent between $ 40-50,000 in travel via AAATravel and have paid at least $ 10,000 in annual dues. We have always liked and trusted our AAA Travel Agents, and we have been very loyal. Now we have been screwed by AAA. At the outset, the blame does NOT lay personally on the agent involved in this booking, but rather on the management of AAA. Here are the facts: This past fall we booked a cruise around the Cape of South America with Celebrity. They were great and I have posted several glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites. However, one thing went horribly wrong. Our agent booked us with an agency called BedsOnline for a car from our hotel in Santiago, Chile to the cruise terminal, 100 miles away. We prepaid the $ 180 for the ride. We were picked up by a driver who we assumed was with BedsOnline. Wrong, as you will see. The driver stopped somewhere in the slums of Santiago and said he needed to be paid. We showed him our confirmation and he said the agency had not been paid. Our ship was leaving in a couple of hours and we were trapped. All our luggae was in the cab. We offered cash and the driver refused, saying we could ONLY use a charge card. He told me to wait in the cab and took my wife down the street and into an old building. I wanted to come also but all our luggage was in the cab and he left the keys in the cab, so how could I leave?? When they came back my wife said he wanted our PIN, which she refused to provide. He said the credit card didn't work (a lie, as it worked everywhere else) and then took cash. We kept the credit card so we were not negligent on our part. He then dropped us off at the cruise terminal. Nothing more happened until we returned home to California and got our CITI Costco VISA bill. It included a charge of over One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ( $ 1,200) paid to someone named "Antonio Rios" located in Santiago! We NEVER booked any transfer for this amount with AAA Travel or via BedsOnline! I contacted AAA Travel and told them about the situation. They said it sounded terrible and would check it out. Meanwhile I of course contacted CITIbank about this fraudulent theft of our hard-earned money. They asked us for information and we provided them with a large amount of documentary evidence which was totally sufficient. They asked for "more" information. There was no more! I explained that to CITI (I have email proof of all of these communications) and they said they would credit the charge, which they did, and that would have been the end of it, except the charge CAME BACK on the following month's bill! I sent another email showing that evidence and they said "we need more information" as if I never provided it in the first place! I again gave it to them. This pattern is now in its third month with no effort by CITI to rectify this issue once and for all. AAA Travel tried to avoid any responsibility by saying only CITI was responsible and that we should contact CITI. We reminded them we had already copied AAA on our correspondence with CITI. We explained that AAA shared responsibility as it relied upon BedsOnline as its "trusted" subcontractor. The complaint went up the line to someone I assume was the head of the local branch, who said she would contact BedsONline, as they refused to answer us directly. The AAA "investigation" dragged on for nearly two months. Finally they told us that the driver was NOT even an employee of BedsOnline, but an employee of a sub-subcontrator called "ChileXclusive". I tried to contact them directly but they were unreachable. I told AAA Travel. After dead silence for another week, I emailed AAA Travel again. Finally they responded, coldly refusing, telling me BedsOnline refused to cooperate and reused to even identify the name of the subcontrator's driver, even though they admitted knowledge of his identity!! So AAA said they would do nothing more and that none of this was its responsibility. They claimed AAA "committed no misrepresentations". This was in my view a dishonest attempt to avoid any liability, as I never alleged that AAA defrauded me, but rather that it was responsible in part for this disaster due to its negligent selection of the subcontractor. While this was pending, and with the foolish belief that AAA Travel would do something to alleviate this loss, I booked another trip at a cost of about $ 7000. The trip is coming up, so we are not cancelling it. However, should CITIbank not permanently credit this theft, we will sue them, and probably join all responsible parties in that action, including BedsOnline and AAA Travel. Even if we do not file suit, we will never use them again. What a horrible thing to do to loyal clients. read more

I really do like AAA, but when I get the same message every time I call - you know, the one about "unusually high call volumes" - at all hours of the day, and waiting 20 minutes to get someone on the phone, I have to call B.S. on this. Nobody believes that message any more. It's not unusually high call volumes that's the problem - it's the call center under-staffing that causes it. They don't want to spend the money to give you better customer service. So now, when you finally get someone on the phone, you're already pissed off at AAA, and ready to make the representative's day worse by taking it out on him / her. In the time it took to draft this review, I've now waited another 11 minutes, with no sign that I'll actually get a human being on the other end of the phone. Get a clue, AAA. Step up your game just a little bit, and make your customers happier. read more

Wow! This AAA office is really broken. Sorry to say that it has turned into a DMV. I went in to register my car and there were 18 people in front of me. I waited over an hour and there were still 15 people in front of me. This was at 10am, not at lunch time. I talked to the manager about the long wait. She said they are trying several different things to try to keep the wait time down but they just need more staff. I don't think that is the problem. The staff was moving slow, talking to each other and not hustling to handle customer demand. We don't need another DMV. read more
