Saved me a TON of time when I had to get my registration sticker. As in, I woke up, randomly decided to go in before work (i.e., no appointment made), and was out in 5-10 minutes, even though there were already a couple people before me at 9am. However, they are a little unclear on the rules. I'd gotten a ticket for not having updated registration stickers. They said they couldn't sign off the ticket, but told me the DMV would do it. This is false, and that part cost me nearly 3 hours in line the next morning... To be fair, the DMV people didn't seem to know any better, because I asked before getting into line, and ended up waiting in a 3-hour line for no reason. Nevertheless. For the record, you have to go to the police station to get the ticket signed off. read more

One star is honestly more than this office deserves. I am in shock about how disorganized this group is and their utter lack of follow through. I coordinate leasing agreements for a property I manage. Our lease agreement requires that tenants provide proof of renter's insurance, naming the property owner as an additional insured (which is a very standard request with most landlords). Our tenant requested this from them at the beginning of her lease in November. The rep who was helping her (Matthew Shapiro) sent over a general proof of coverage, which is fine and dandy, EXCEPT the lease requires an additional interest listing. I informed him of the information that is needed and he completely ignored me. I sent him another request and he ignored me for another two weeks. I finally went above him and contacted his manager. The manager (Jordan Racey) responded fairly quickly and sent me the requested doc, showing the additional interest on the policy that literally expired THAT SAME DAY. I explained this is an ongoing requirement and asked her to please send the same doc for the new policy. Radio silence! I followed up a week later and requested this again. I finally got a response from Jordan saying that she would send it over soon. That never happened. I kept the tenant in the loop about the issues and she has also been contacting them, in addition to my emails. Nobody has followed through on this very simple and standard request. It has now been over 2 months and they are doing absolutely nothing about it. I've handled dozens of these requests with various insurance companies and never had this issue before. I'm not even an insurance holder with this company, but I would be furious if this was how my policy was handled. I just want to warn people that they will not stand behind you as a policy holder. I will also warn future tenants to steer clear of this company. Such a joke! read more

Three months ago I bought a new car but the tags never arrived. Last Saturday I arrived at AAA fifteen minutes before closing. I forgot to check in at the front desk and somehow didn't have my AAA card in my wallet. No issue! The woman (sadly, I didn't get her name) helping me at the DMV counter gave me absolutely no attitude about any of that. She simply asked for my telephone number and confirmed my identity. Then, after explaining to her why I was there she waived the DMV fee since I didn't lose my registration, it simply never got delivered. In and out in five minutes and $20 still in my pocket. What an amazing customer service experience. This one transaction alone made the AAA membership worth every penny. read more

The knowledge, care and courtesy evidenced by the employees at this location is exceptional. I have visited the office twice in a month and both times left the office feeling very positive about my experience. I spoke with insurance agent, Ericka Kinsey, yesterday and made an appointment for this morning. She was incredibly knowledgeable and made things very easy for me to understand. I was considering changing my insurance company and did so due to the plan but, taking that into consideration, I would not have changed to AAA if the agent had not had the skills and demeanor evidenced by Erika. She met with me in a timely manner, answered all my questions, explained things throughly but also was unfailingly kind and a delight to deal with. It seemed as if I was visiting with a friend rather than someone I had just spoken to on the phone. She went out of her way to make this a very easy process for me. Thank you Ericka! I will happily recommend you to friends and family. I also want to thank Walter, whose last name I cannot recall. He helped me with DMV business about a month ago. He was humorous, efficient, and made the process easy for me. On both occasions the receptionist was very welcoming. I did not have to wait for service. After reading the negative reviews I was hesitant on going to this AAA to have my registration printed out. However, I was pleasantly surprised! I went on a Wednesday around noon thinking this would be the busiest time of day as most people most likely go on their lunch break but this was not the case! There was one person ahead of me at check in and the next counter did not have a line at all!! Both employees that waited on me were very friendly and helpful and I was literally in and out in about 10 minutes max! I would highly recommend this location, does not even compare to the DMV! read more

I bought a battery from AAA in 2016, after the battery I had previously purchased from AAA went dead just two months after the three-year warranty was up. Fast forward to 2018 and my daughter is driving the car as I've given it to her, and the battery goes dead again. They should've replaced the battery for free because it was under the three-year warranty but they charged her. I called AAA to have her reimbursed and they told me unless the person who buys the battery is driving the car then there is no warranty. No warranty whatsoever everyone! Don't Waste your money on a AAA battery! That means if someone else is driving your car one week after you purchase that battery the warranty is invalid. As it is I think that my regular car insurance has roadside assistance and it was just a convenience to use AAA. That's the end of my membership I won't be renewing it and I won't recommend them to anyone again. read more

It's pretty sad when you have to explain to the AAA agent what a 262 form is. Also, how to verify an out of state vehicle. She refused to do it cause I did not have the title. It is not her job to judge the deal, only to verify the VIN. I had to go to the office manager to get her to do it, and even then she grumbled. I will just go to DMV next time, at least they are cordial even though they are swamped. read more

AAA is by far the best auto insurance in the land!! I have had to make 2 claims in the past 6 months (neither of which were my fault) and they have made it the best experience possible! My claims adjusters Adrian and Kyle were both respectful, helpful and fast! They made sure all my needs were met every step of the way, and followed through promptly with getting the repairs and rental car. I went here to transfer a car to my son. We had most of the paperwork done, but not all and, of what we had, not all correctly. Everyone we worked with at AAA was so patient and polite - two characteristics that are critical when dealing with the public - that it was impressive. That's one reason to be a member. Another is that AAA saved us a visit to DMV. That is not a knock against the people at DMV. I was there earlier in the week, and the people were helpful and friendly. But there is no escaping that the atmosphere at AAA so much brighter and far less of a zoo. read more

Terrible agent. The club cancelled my homeowners insurance with NO written notice and when I returned from vacation and called, they said it was up to him to tell us. We were without insurance for over a month. Had insurance before with Travelers Insurance and only switched to AAA, as they said they had better motor home policy and I would save on home owners by having multi policies.This is not over as I have taken the matter to the California insurance consumers department. When I was all insured by going back to my original carrier, the AAA then charged me more money for cancelling the auto insurance in the first year. What happened to the AAA. I went to this office with my mom. Monica at the front desk did an outstanding job setting up DMV appointments for my parents. She was patient kind and extremely helpful. She went about and beyond just (standard service) she was also incredibly knowledgeable about the DMV valid I.d process for travel and the new mandatory process that starts in 2020. My elderly mother left her keys in egnition and on one night so battery died and had roadside service come give her a jump. After one touch from the jumper cables it started right up. He even commented this battery looks new. Then he says let me check something, and fidgets around with something then tells her I think your battery is bad, convinces her to buy one from him for over 100 dollars and took hers with him. My mother is on a fixed income and told him she was saving that money to get her breaks done as they are beyond bad but he told her her battery was more important. She is forgetful these days and unsure of herself and this guy completely took advantage of her because her battery Was new, we just bought it recently! We will be getting her money back. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the customer service rep that I called after my lack of service. If you come across a woman named Stephanie, blonde, ask for someone else. I went into the office to register a new vehicle that was recently purchased..... I had my paperwork that was needed and was expecting a way different outcome, however, the result of my interaction with this representative was extremely horrendous. I did get a call back from the manager after I spoke with someone from the call center and normally I don't like complaining, however I work in customer service I have for over 15 yrs and I know how it is. I have been a member of AAA since I got my drivers licence in 1958. It provides a lot of valuable services and is worth the cost especially when you need info or want to get licence plates. Typically the service is top notch which is certainly the case in Oceanside CA. Most negative comments are about insurance costs. This is no reason to give them poor ratings for something you are not forced to buy there. AAA is a top notch company. No doubt about it! read more

Here in San Diego. I thought I ran out of gas last night, during rush hour, a tow truck arrived with gas within 45 minutes - drove home. This morning, it was clear my problem was really a dead battery. Called AAA. They sent Alen, who not only arrived within 10 minutes with an inventory of new batteries in his truck (!!!), but tested the alternator and battery, identified the battery as the problem and replaced it with the identical battery from his truck. WHAT MAGIC IS THIS!!???? He is a genius.....he is like a traveling mechanic + garage. Within 50 minutes, he diagnosed the problem and replaced the battery. The car is as good as new. Amazing. Bravo!
