I was not aware AAA had car service and repair facilities. When I had a major breakdown, I called for towing. That is when I found out about the facility in North Riverside and the many benefits available to AAA members. So I had my very old car towed there and was treated with courtesy and given lots of information about my car repair and estimated cost. Throughout the ordeal, I had many questions and concerns, and Mario kept me well-informed as to the progress of finding parts and having the repairs completed. The tech was excellent. My complaints/concerns are as follows: when you request an appointment online they do not respond. after 4 days of waiting for a confirmation call I called and was told to just come on in as if the appointment request wasn't necessary and me knowing there could be a significant wait I got there at the opening time of 730am and departed about two hours later BUT.. If the hub caps on the tires don't have to be removed to do the tire rotation then why was the same scratched up hub cap on the one tire in the same place? What a joke. Got free oil change coupon so I call 3 times to get an appointment. Always tell me they are booked solid. So today the guy says we are booked but you can come in and wait 1/2 hour to hour. So I drive there in 10 minutes and the guy says it is 1 1/2 - 2 hours, probably 2 hours. I just left. 2 hours for a $20 OIL CHANGE? No way........ This is just a scam to get you in so they can sell you insurance services and memberships. There insurance program is bad anyway, they will double your rate on first accident after 10 years being a customer with no tickets or accidents. Stay away...... read more

I took my 2006 Odyssey to get a new battery, but the battery was just a part of the problem. I came in late in the afternoon and was looking at having to leave my car to be serviced the next day. However, the technicians went above and beyond and I was able to wait. The facility is clean and the waiting area is very comfortable. My time was used to read the abundance of travel books which might not be a good thing. The next day I discovered that my radio and clock were not working. I returned and found out that I needed a code to restart it. Mario Reyes took care of it for me. He didn't say it was my problem. He went above and beyond to get the code and my radio was working again. I couldn't be happier with the service and will return for additional service needs. read more

My original visit was for an oil change. I was so impressed with the service I received that I brought my car back for new brakes...pads, rotors and calipers. I know that if I brought my car to my Volvo dealer that these services would cost twice as much as I paid at AAA. I have been going to AAA Car Care Plus 178, in North Riverside since it opened. I am very happy and satisfied with the service I have received from all the staff members and mechanics. Excellent service. Very reasonable and the staff there are all professional, courteous and kind. I recently took my Jeep Patriot for an oil change, tire rotation, wipers, complete diagnostic check and front alignment check. This is all the recommended maintenance for my vehicle per the manufacturer. As always they did a fantastic job. I did need an alignment adjustment which was completed and the time I spent there was only an hour and a half, a lot faster than the dealers and reasonably priced. I drove in at 330pm with brakes and rotors shot and needed to pick up a child at daycare before 6PM. My old Subaru Forester was not cooperating as I had been remiss on service. They also showed me what was wrong and what they were doing about it and how much it would cost. Bob worked hard on the car - Cody assured me they would help me pick up my niece. Sure enough, Luis drove the AAA van with me and the booster seat to get her and back to the shop in time. Cody, Luis and Bob are all great guys and the AAA coupons and discount and their professional and kind help made all the difference. They were really nice to my 5 year old niece too. read more

Two disappointments: !, I received a promotion email, claiming: "10% off coupon for any recommended service", but got declined claiming: "...no labor charge, so no 10% off." However, the coupon did not mention anything like "10% off the Labor charge", which is true for my AAA membership card. 2, And also I made an appointment, calling at 9:15am, talking about 3 minutes, as my cell recorded the exact date and time. But when I was driving on the way, I was calling again about 3pm for 4pm appointment to make sure...Then another guy called me back, saying they did not have the cabin air filter for my car, so had to order it, as a result, I had to come back the following day.....AAA north river fuck up our original plan, fixing car and my wife went shopping at the Costco.... read more

the service for the maps was great. I went for the car check-up and thought that as long as they were doing that i might as well get my oil changed. I asked ig the price for the oil change was $40 (synthetic) and was told yes. When it came time to pay the bill i was told that it was over $73. When I questioned the amount I was told to call back the next day that the guy who wrote it up will be back then. The man who worked on my car checked the oil a few times after he changed it. I don't even know if he put in the right oil. He had to get help from another machenic too put on the wheel covers which the other machenic installed in seconds.. Came in for a oil change and they where booked up. So decided to come in as a walk in on the next day. Left truck and went shopping since shop is close to Costco and mall. When done shopping I had to call them and see if done. I never got a call from them so that's my only complain. Since I'm a member I got a free tire rotation which saves me 18 bucks. I love this place -- I took my car there for an oil change (I'm a AAA member), and my car was in and out within maybe 30 minutes. The guys were very professional, helpful and kind, and the customer space inside of Car Care was really comfortable and clean, much nicer than most garages. While I was there, they gave me quotes for work that I needed to get done (great prices) and were just all around fantastic. I called back and rescheduled service appointments twice, and both times the staff was very helpful, not annoyed with me for being high maintenance, and could fit me in at my convenience. I was especially impressed with Rich and Cody, who definitely went above and beyond to make sure that my experience there was great. Brought the car in for the second time for routine service and was quite happy as before, but one thing particularly impressed me. My 2008 auto still has the original battery. I asked them to check the battery. They performed a test, found it fine, and gave me a printout of the test. I would not have questioned it if they had told me I needed a new battery, but they were aboveboard in their handling of this. read more

This review is expressly related to the insurance billing side of the operation. For anyone seeking a deal on insurance and that "better deal" comes with the EFT debit option for a one-time payment. Think again! I am insured with AAA for auto coverage and my renewal was at the end of March. I called the agent in the North Riverside office to renew the insurance and make an adjustment to the account on March 27, 2019, after talking, on the phone, with her I paid the account in full for the six month period (total of $1008 USD). The very next day an EFT debit ($1463 USD) was taken out of my zero balanced account for the amount that didn't include the adjustment. I overpaid them by $1660 USD, so I called the rep and she said she saw the error and it would be fixed within 3-5 business days. That was 10 business days, 2 weeks and a host of calls to the local and corporate office ago! Still I have sit here and type a review so no one else falls into this system design flaw that nobody at AAA seems to be able to correct!! Corporate is even less help, they promised to look into it and call back and still I am waiting. Corporate doesn't even have an updated listing for who can help resolve these issues...they only have people to filter complaints so the brass don't hear about it! If paying the bill is this complicated...how do you think processing a claim will be?! read more

Tried to scare me into having a brake caliper replaced for $360. Got a second opinion - tightened the nut for free said caliper was fine. Told me my battery needed to be replaced. Again, got a second opinion and was told my battery was fine. Glad I did not allow them to rip me off. read more

This new location sent me a coupon for a discounted oil and filter change cheaper than what I can usually do myself so since it was so cold outside I thought I would give it a try. It took an hour but they did rotate the tires and check a lot of other stuff as well. My only concern is that they used 5W20 oil in my car and the manual says to use 5W30. Hope that's not going to be a problem. read more

These guys are honest, if you want a place that wont rip you off this is the place. Called and got a same day appointment for a wheel alignment. While doing the repairs they noticed one of my rack and pinion boots was off and they repaired that at no charge and my wheel alignment cost me less than they originally told me because they added a coupon for $15 off. They will suggest other things your vehicle might need, however they are not aggressive if you decide to wait. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. read more

Great experience with AAA from time car broke down on the expressway through the towing to this AAA center and repair of burst radiator reservoir on my car. Tow truck arrived within 1 minute of scheduled time and got the car to the repair center in just over an hour from time of breakdown. Rich, the senior service advisor did a nice job of getting my car's problem diagnosed shortly after arrival and arranging for delivery of the part from a BMW dealer. When the part didn't arrive in the time promised by BMW, he had one of his team give me a ride to work (almost a 1/2 hour away) so I didn't have to continue waiting at the repair center with a nearly drained computer and dead cell phone. This really helped to salvage part of the workday for me. He kept me informed of the progress of the repair and got the work done by end of day as promised. Cost of the repair was reasonable, and I appreciated the fact that they didn't try selling additional "preventive maintenance" type work. Everyone at this AAA location was very friendly and helpful. Overall, excellent customer service made what started out as a lousy day quite bearable. read more
