I purchased my car battery from AAA and since then, I have called them 3 times because my car would not start. They could not jump their own battery. AAA towed my car on two occasions because they claimed it wasn't the battery. They said I needed a new starter. My auto mechanic on those two occasions said there is nothing wrong with your starter. All we did was jump the battery. My mechanic recommended that I replace the AAA battery because people always have problems with their batteries. I called AAA and complained and I have not received a call or letter responding to my complaint. read more

After 18 years of being a AAA member. I was ousted by AAA. No reason, no notice, no email, no mail. I only discovered this after making a call today (October 29, 2022) asking about my membership bill that I normally pay each September (I had not received the bill). According to the CSR @ AAA, there was nothing I could do to resolve this discontinuation of membership. I barely use my AAA membership card, I also pay for my Daughters membership to protect her and my Grandchildren. This is quite the slap in the face after having the comfort of their service for almost 20 years. I've always bragged about AAA, being a single parent, and now Grandparent. AAA you could be more respectable to long time customers. For 5 days the battery on my mother's car has been dead. My father called AAA to come out and jump it. They came out, they tested the battery and determined the battery had to be replaced. Unfortunately, they didn't have that particular battery in stock and said they would need to come back. Fast forward to yesterday, my father calls AAA and because AAA had replaced the battery 2 years ago and their batteries have a 3 year warranty, the customer relations woman told my father that it would be free and she would put in the call for them to come out to replace the battery. The same company came out to replace the battery, but it was a younger man. He said to my father "I'm not giving you a free battery. AAA didn't give me the paperwork". My father said "but I just got off the phone with AAA and the CR told me it was free under warranty". After some back and forth, the guy left without replacing the battery and my father got back on the phone with AAA. Another CR told my father that it isn't free because they found a "hole" in the battery and that the office was closing but she would make a note for tomorrow. Now today, my father calls AAA again. The original CR gets on the phone, denies she told my father the battery was free and the battery is NOT covered under warranty because there is a hole. Now I get on the phone. How do we know that the hole wasn't caused by the AAA tech that put the battery in, the AAA tech that tried to jumpstart the car after the original call, or because of a defect? "I'm sorry, it's not covered". I offered to have an autopsy performed on the battery to determine cause of death, but the CR refused. After much attitude after me asking why it took 2 techs to come out to determine a hole, a tech and a CR person to tell us that the battery was covered under warranty, and now you're telling me it's NOT covered? Poor customer service, including not logging proper notes, poor communication, and lack of interpersonal skills, I am canceling my AAA membership. If I get stuck on the side of the road, I'd rather push my vehicle or change a tire myself than have the unprofessional "professionals" at AAA come out to help. For the amount of money that we have spent on AAA memberships over the years, you'd think that they wouldn't fight with us over something so clearly covered. I encourage everyone to take pictures of anything and everything BEFORE AAA touches your vehicle for ANYTHING. read more

I have been with AAA for many years. We needed to cancel our policy as we recently received a roadside assistance program with our 2 vehicles. AAA would not issue a refund for the remaining 6 months. I was planning on going back to AAA after the expiration of the new cars roadside assistance programs, but will not be doing so. Even with the dramatically reduced driving during Covid-19, they still don't want to help families out. They said they do not have the capabilities to offer a refund. Really? Their accounting department is unable to cut a check or credit a credit card? Not a very smart business move. read more

We are so tired of the monthly email and snail mail garbage from AAA. What a waste! We recently sent this email to them and hope it stops us from getting more. They need to focus on AAA service, not scamming sales. "We would like all unsolicited mail, marketing mail, and sales for your insurance to cease to all members on our account. The mail we get from AAA, except pertaining to our specific AAA account, is a waste of time, money, and mail service. Our memberships would likely have lower rates if the unsolicited mail stopped for everyone. Dont use them. I've had them for 17 years. They have changed their policies and have made it way more difficult to even use their service. Not worth it anymore. Get towing thru ur car insurance they are better now. I use to love and rave about AAA but now they come to help u and if they cant they still use it as one of the service events u get in a year and count it against u. Which is bullshit. My wife has been committed to having AAA for decades. Last night, my 17 year old step-son stalled his car on a dirt road just outside of town. I took a look, and told him to call AAA. They said they don't tow on dirt roads; I said no problem. We left the car over-night, and this morning at 6:00 AM I pulled the car with a towing strap to the nearest intersection with a paved road... about 1/4 mile. We parked the car roughly 20 feet from the pavement and called AAA again. Guess what? They won't tow the car the 20 feet to the pavement. I guess if I left the car obstructing the paved road, they would come get it in a couple hours, but they won't even come out to where the car is, because it's on the dirt side of the intersection. Who needs these folks? For $15 a year, I get road-side assistance from my car insurance company (Progressive.) We will put the boy's car on that policy, and burn our AAA card. read more

My wife was riding with a friend and they got a flat tire. She called AAA to get help, they gave her the third degree because she didn't have her friends licence plate number memorized. They did everything they could to refuse her help. I finally call a tow truck to rescue them. AAA will leave you family and friends on a highway at 11pm to save themselfs a few bucks. We've had their service for four of us for a decade, first time we need help they refuse to help. Keep your family safe don't hire these guys. read more

Well, i like AAA, but I am giving 2 stars because AAA car battery warranty is good for nothing you might as well through it away , because they want do good to honer it. My car battery was dead, AAA refused to get me new battery, so i had to get new battery from 3rd party. When I asked AAA for check, they respond that 3rd party was not supposed to change my car battery, even if aaa would change my battery i would be out of luck as well, because they ask for PRINTED battery report, I change at least 2 batteries with AAA already and never received. Worst first service experience ever. Called around 740pm for a roadside assistance because one of my tires on the car got a flat tire. Waited for about 80 mins for road service that will probably never come. Called AAA the second time and they FINALLY dispatched the roadside assistance vehicle to come to my breakdown car the guy couldn't fix the flat tire so they needed to get another one to assist. Eventually it was fixed but the wait time was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! read more

Front right tire damaged, 11:00 PM at night. Called AAA at 11:30 PM They promised assistance in 2 hours, 2 hours, can you imagine that? Truck finally showed up at 3:00 PM. The first tow truck cancelled, but no one told me. So I waited and waited. The tow company claimed it called but got no answer---however, my phone shows no call. The second tow told me that it was impossible for my car to be towed because the brake could not be released and the car could not be put into neutral. (This was a flatbed driver that said it.) I wasted hours trying to solve the problem without towing. Finally, someone said that it could be towed--and it was. I guess AAA towing companies simply are neither reliable nor honest. read more

I was under the impression that I had to pay for towing after the 4th tow, not the 4th service call. Might be the worst customer service of my life! Car broke down on lakeshore drive. Called and confirmed my location twice. Topd me the driver was 30 min away. I called back an hour later and was i formed they didn't know where driver was or how long it would be. I called again and finally get told that he is 10 min away. Another 40 min go by and another person calls me to tell me the driver is 5 min away. I call him back 10 min later and he asks me if I'm at a different address because that is the location they gave him. I tell him no, im at an address literally 3 min away. He says ok. I call back and tells me that it will be 15 min because he switched me to a closer driver. How the hell can you be 5 min away from where you thought I was but then I call back 10 min later and you tell me 15-20 min. AAA does not care about their members. They have no idea what is going on. Would have just rather been told from the beginning that it would be a 5 hour wait. Their internal communication is not adequate at all. Have been with the company for 19 years and i buy a battery have it for four months and they want me to go through hell and high water for warranty replacement. Membership will be canceled along with travel packages for the future. Two hours on phone and they ask me to go to aaa to have further testing during pandemic . My car broke down and I called AAA at 10:00 pm, Aug. 22. It took 10 minutes of pressing buttons, entering my 16 digit membership number repeatedly and entering other info before I finally asked to speak with a human. The rep told me the driver would be there between 30 min to an hour to tow my car to the repair shop. My friend drove me to the gate so I would be able to enter the code when the driver arrived. The only place to park was narrow and cars had to keep going around us and it was hot out still so we had to run the AC After an hour of waiting, I called AAA back and after repeatedly entering my 16 digit code and answering a ton of questions, I pressed O to speak to Operator and waited until I was disconnected. Called back, repeated the whole process and placed on hold. At one point 2 of us were on hold while looking at AAA reviews. One person wrote that she waited 4 hours so that was enough for me. 1 1/2 hour was plenty at 11:45pm. My friend and I both had to go to work in the morning and he offered to take me a long way home. Then I had to call back to the same automated system to cancel the call so I would not be charged. My car is parked at my friend's apt complex and I just dread going through what I went through last night to get my car to the repair shop. AAA used to be a respectable business at the top of their game but they are trash now. Oh, and a year ago, I was stranded on the freeway during rush hour traffic but the driver had his wife as a ride-along and told me I couldn't ride back with him. Started requesting service 7/20/2019, Absolutely the worst dispatch roadside assistance and tow service! Was left in a rain storm with my kids because the tow truck driver didn't want to complete the tow. Someone from dispatch called to tell the driver not to complete the destination of my house address. Lady's first name was Heather and she basically made me call twice to get a tow truck. Just to claim the service was completed. In order for me to pay for mileage and more tows on the membership. The dispatcher wanted to claim a law that doesn't exist and has no jurisdiction in the state of Washington! I asked her to cite the RCW that states that. She didn't have it and then refused to give me her full name. This type of fraud should be taken to arbitration because if triple AAA is doing that to one member I guarantee they are doing it to all or the vast majority of customers. That's what she stated on a recorded line all members are given the same policy and laws. My car was broken down at a gas station and she wanted me to wait until morning to prove my car didn't belong to the gas station. Shady business and triple AAA is just stealing people's money claiming your using a membership when the service requested/paid isn't even rendered. read more

AAA road side assistants from caused $700 Damage to my car I filed a claim but because I got it repaired in a timely manner the denied claim 3 weeks later. I guess next time I should take pictures. I think I will look to alternative services providers when my membership is up. It is now 10:18pm Jessica finally told me that service will be there in 1 hour and 20 min. That that company was the only one willing to help. So what happen with roadside assistance 24/7. Well finally Road Ranger a FREE SERVICE PROVIDED BY STATE FARM. came to the rescue. I called then at about 10:30 pm. At the advice of a supervisor from AAA. ROAD RANGER Arrived at around 10:40 pm. I contacted Triple A road service @ 3:50 pm on 8-24-19 (Service# 36069) Due to The batteries were dead in my truck & needed the batteries replaced. Triple a stated they would arrive in appox 200 minutes I called triple a at 720 pm "to check eta" due to no one at Triple a had called me". The tech then called to say they did not have the batteries & to call back in the morning when their shop opens to reschedule? That's is very poor service ! AAA used to have great service but not so much now. Especially with batteries. They sell refurbished! Don't waste your time. I called them out to put in a new battery and it came with a 6 year warranty. 1 year later and my car would not start. I tried jumping but and no success. So I had the shop try to charge it and they said it was dead and would not accept a charge. I called AAA to replace it and they came out and refused because they said their computer must say "replace" and it only said "recharge and retry". I asked the tech to charge it then and he said he couldn't. But that they could only replace if it said "replace" I told him then their computers are rigged and he said, maybe so, and that AAA uses refurbished batteries anyway. Not happy with AAA my son is stuck and needs his car tow to the shop. AAA wanted me to renew my membership and I did ($200). I asked when a tow truck would be there? And she tells me you have to pay an additional $54 for the tow. I'm like why? because it takes 48 hours for it to process. I hung up and check my account and they already got their money......smh. Called to get a tow home as my vehicle had a wiring issue. The lady on the phone had no idea what I was requesting and after an hour of waiting in my 35 degree vehicle, sent someone with jumper cables to jump my vehicle (which I explained twice that I did not need). I called them back and after 10 minutes of being on hold, the sent a tow truck which took another 45 minutes. Lesson learned- do not deal directly with AAA; call the tow company, get your vehicle to its location and give your card information to the tow shop to deal with the incompetence read more

Being a frequent flyer, or should I say, frequent towee, I am still in COMPLETE DISBELIEF what happened last night, 5/1/19, when I called AAA for help with getting a truck I just purchased, home. Contractracted tow company AmeriTow, whose owner is an Indian man named Lucky, showed up. Lucky, had a white man with him for company. I had purchased the truck from 2 dealers, a white man and a black man. Up until I gox there, I had only been dealing with the black man who was extremely professional, honest, pleasant, polite, and nice. Lucky's cohort Got in the black man's face for not having my Truck ready upfront, screamed f***** n****r, you f****** n****** Don't belong here in this country !!! The attacked black man had the style, grace, and wherewithal to walk away. Next, Lucky got in my truck to back it up, hooked the front bumper on a small tree and proceeded to rip it halfway off my truck!! He got out, ziptied it back on, stomped up the driveway while yelling at the dealer: You have 5 minutes to move these piece of shit cars and get that truck up to the road! Then we are leaving! They left 1 minute later without my truck. I have by now spent considerable time on the phone with AAA, and I even took the time to go to the local AAA office in Voorhees, NJ to get this racists off AAA's roster, thinking I was doing them a favor. Apparently I was wrong! AAA informed me the will "investigate what happened" and get back to me in a couple of weeks. HOW ARE THEY GOING TO INVESTIGATE WITHOUT EVEN ONCE ASKING ME FOR THE WITNESSES' NAMES AND PHONE NUMBERS!??!?!? They won't even suspend these two from their service! If I could give them a zero I would. At noon yesterday I called AAA to get a tow, my car would not start, and because the lights came on inside and outside the car I knew it was not the battery. Instead of a tow they sent someone to give me a jump. This person did not even get out of his truck to see what was going on with my car he just said oh you do not need a jump I will call for a tow, 3 hours later, no tow. I called AAA to see what was going on and they said he never called it in. So now it is 3:30pm, they put in for a tow. I call back at 6:00pm and ask where is the tow, can they give me an ETA and they said they will not get to me until 9:30pm, I am livid!!! So after being on the phone with them for 45minutes, we finally decided that we will set up a tow for the next day. We set up the time for the tow to be at 8:00am, well it is currently 8:37am and guess what no tow, I called AAA and they said the order was not put in until 7:00am and they will not be able to get to me until 12:00pm today. Wow really???? This is supposed to be a 24hour operation, they did not put it in until 7:00am, I would have been better off calling it in at 4:00am to get a 8:00am tow instead of scheduling an appointment for an 8:000am tow. This is ridiculous!!! The people on the phone act if so this is acceptable, this is so unacceptable. I will not be renewing my AAA membership. read more

My truck has been sitting in my backyard for about three months, I finally got the money to get it repaired, I called AAA to tow it to repair shop, they told me since it is in my backyard they could not move the truck, so basically I am paying for a service that I cannot utilize, very disappointed with AAA If I could I would give you a rating of minus -000 you can pick up vehicles on a major highway but you can't pick up a vehicle in a backyard read more

Premier member since 2009 and had never even called and used the service until yesterday. Was in a emergency situation and needed my truck towed. After 4 hours multiple calls and the absolute run around. I was told they didn't know when or if any tow truck period would be coming because no shop would pick up the dispatched tow. One of the absolute worst experiences dealing with a company, maybe ever. Needless to say I will be canceling my membership ASAP. AAA failed us twice. For two separate incidences they never showed up. Used on 2/22/21 the AAA app to schedule a tow and called them because my little car was stuck in the alley. Waited 3.5 hours and called to check status and was told they haven't dispatched my call because of high volumes and I am in the que. Called after another hour still same. A neighbor and my husband were able to push it out after using a bunch of Kitty liter under the tires. In September 2020 had a roadside assistance need and they never showed up then either. We have been a AAA family my dad used it and now my family has it. But now it is unreliable and the app ETA is meaningless since on both occasions the app counted down from 3 hours but no drivers were ever dispatched.
