Today is May 17, 2026 I called Aaa roadside because I was having issues with the car it stalled all of a sudden on Park Presidio all the lights on the panel came on thought my transmission was slipping so I pulled over to the side found a safe place and called . they sent this nice guy out Cameron from Fortes towing company. What a nice guy very professional knew what he was talking about and very happy with him. Cameron cleaned the erosion around the cables on the battery that seemed to help while the lights on the panels went off. I requested a tow truck to take me back home. Wasn't sure if I could drive the car back. Cameron called in for a tow truck for me as I waited two hours for the tow truck that never came. They said they had shortage of tow trucks because there was a event like the bay to breakers in the city and a concert as well, but they never called me back to tell me they were going to cancel. I had to call them after two hours sitting in the car waiting for them. I took it upon myself to drive my car from San Francisco back to South San Francisco where I live taking no freeways wasn't sure if I was going to have an issue again so disappointed with the road service they suggested I leave the car where it's at put the key in the ignition and find a way to get home whether to take a Lift or have somebody come and pick me up so disappointed with the quality of service. This is an incredibly conveniently located, auto-club which offers DMV services. You can beat the hassle of going to the actual DMV to get your annual vehicle registration processed (and sticker), handicap placards and much more. The staff are incredibly helpful and willing to go above and beyond the 'call of duty'. Avoiding the DMV is well worth the reasonably priced annual membership fee! Emergency road services are good to have when needed, but what keeps me coming back to this AAA is CA DMV services. Car registration is super easy with a wait of minutes and no appointments. Plus when I have needed roadside assistance it's always come, though sometimes slowly. read more

The staff at this location are courteous, professional, and quick... It's one the only business I know I'll get clear answers and help every time. I typically see the same faces here so they do a good job of retaining knowledgeable personnel. To be fair other AAA locations in the Bay Area have also been good as well, so I just think AAA has incentivized all of the staff properly. After three years of getting help here I can only imagine that the negative reviews are from people with issues that don't like the answers they are given, not a reflection of the staff service or the service. read more

At least AAA is consistent. I emailed them last Wednesday, per their comment to my review here, and... ZERO RESPONSE to my email with their requested info! I'll note that this review was restricted to my second experience since becoming a Premier member, just to keep it clear and focused on their $500 reimbursement lie to me; which they have recorded in my original unheeded & result-less call for help. After I'd first booked an appointment with AAA's Richmnd District office for DMV services to transfer my motorhome's NV title to CA, I'd later called back to move that appointment to AAA's Daly City office, at which point I was told they don't do title transfers from out of state and I had to go to the DMV proper. I had been VERY clear about for what I had booked my 1st Richmond appointment. I would have just shown up to be denied, if not for my chance attempt to change the transfer's appointment office. The most welcoming visit. If you're looking for a one stop trip to get your international drivers permit stop by. At first I went to the usual Walgreens to get my photo taken, cost me about $17 (pricey) Walgreens uses an antique digital camera vs. AAA uses a sweet Canon DSLR so the quality and the image came out much crispier. Be warned that this AAA location is toxic in the sense that they have very little knowledge of insurance products and aboslutely no customer service. I agree w several other posts that Lifen has no place giving any insurance advice to anyone.. period. Insurance products by definition are to protect customers from unexpected losses. I had been a loyal and happy client of AAA for over 15 years. Our agent Russell Wong was beyond fantastic and always offered outstanding insurance advice. Then AAA shut the office and we were passed along to several other agents. I was hit head on on my motorcycle in May. When my wife called she was told the policy had not been enacted. I was airlifted by Flight for Life and when I awoke 2 days later was told we didn't have coverage. My bike was broken into while it was in storage and everything was taken including passport, license and my insurance paperwork. AAA is not for you if your looking for an insurance professional to protect yourself and more importantly your family. You will not be a priority. Trust me. read more

Apparently a dying company with money hungry policies and trainings. Lifen Thai is yet the reflection of that, especially with all the trophies behind her desk, I am sure she is doing very well getting your money. I had a case, both parties are AAA, I got police report and clearly it's the other parties fault, yet she failed to negotiate with the underwriter. Many instances showing, if you are not asking for something that will put money in AAA's pocket, she will not be very proactive or "friendly" for your service. Search around the review for this branch, you'll see. Oh, AAA, don't bother reply and ask to make things right, I already switched to another insurance, and I have all the maps I need. read more

I've been a customer of both the roadside service and car insurance for all 4 of our vehicles, and I think we're leaving after this claim. My car was broken into this week, and a bunch of stuff stolen (headphones, iphone, Raybans, etc.). When I called to make a claim, it took almost 2 hours just to open claims - they told me I had to open separate claims for stolen property and then for glass repair. The people I spoke to were apparently vendors, not actual AAA employees, and they did not know their stuff. They never told me AAA doesn't cover stolen personal items, only luggage. (What?!?) Why they made me go through 2 claims processes if that's the case, I don't know. I told them my phone was one of the items stolen, so please don't call that number. I gave them my work number, because it's the only phone I have left. After waiting 24 hrs. to hear from the company, I call back to have them tell me no one noted the fact that my phone was stolen, so they've been trying to call me on it since then. They don't listen - even when told explicitly. AAA has outsourced their claims department. That means when you have a theft or accident claim, you aren't even speaking to a AAA employee, but a third party of theirs. It takes them DAYS to verify your coverage and let repair shops know that they can do the work. If you are waiting to get your vehicle back, expect lots of delays and hand wavy explanations. All in all, I'm so disappointed with how the service has gone downhill. We will be switching to another insurance company and taking our business elsewhere once I finally get them to sort this mess out. They are not the cheapest insurance but they used to be the best. Take your money elsewhere, sadly there's better to be had now. read more

If you want great service stop by the AAA office locate at 7th and Clement street. Ask for Mary Lou. She well experience and tried her best to give a great product while keeping the cost fair. In fact, I am a 40 year AS A member. Recently completed the Senior Nature Driver online course. This will save me 5% for the Next 3 years. More importantly, Mary Lou suggested to me and have gained a new perspective while driving on the road. read more

Great convenient location for us. Sooo much better than the DMV, if you happen to be a AAA member. We usually find ourselves being helped by Patrick. He is friendly, knows his DMV forms 6 ways to a Sunday and also helps you fill them out. Haven't had a convoluted DMV issue he couldn't handle. He's magic and makes the pain and grief of DMV related tasks go away. The DMV should hire him to train all of their counter staff. This AAA location is AAA. read more

This review deals with the towing service an is not specific to any CSAA loacation: Left high and dry by CSAA Premier Membership (Which includes RV and MC towing) for the second time. First time on Petaluma Hill Rd in 90 degree heat. Soonest tow would be 2 1/2 hours. Called a friend who came out with a trailer. Second time today. Starter went out. Told 45 minutes. An hour later got a call from CSAA and was told there was no one available for hours.I ranted and raved and realized this would not get me home. Caught a ride home, got my van and trailer and brought it home myself. CSAA Premier, don't waste your dough if you are wanting motorcycle towing. read more
