worst experience ive ever had with a mechanic shop. paid a heinous amount for a brand new transmission aswell as a warranty for it, i got to 8 months before my car started messing up again. took it back to aamco after receiving a diagnostic that it was in fact the transmission, and got it back after a week or so with the owner, joe, lied to me claiming to have fixed the issue. i almost got into a car accident due to the transmission failing AGAIN. found out the transmission was actually unfixable according to another diagnostic i had to get, so i had to bring it in again, and that was where it got worse. he held my car for THREE months, and during this time i had to pay over 2,500 dollars in transportation fees, none of which was compensated nor was i offered a rental vehicle. throughout the process joe was nearly impossible to reach due to him 'not being in the store' or 'not working that day' so there was little communication during this 3 month period of him having my car. when i was able to get in contact with joe, the conversations were all almost entirely about the business conduction issues he was having in regards to my vehicle's transmission and why he couldnt replace it (him trying to get out of his responsibilities) which had absolutely nothing to do with me as a customer! they've even deleted their reviews on google of people who had related similar experiences. the absolute lack of professionalism and negligence i experienced here have taken a toll on me not only financially, but even mentally. if you have experienced anything similar, please reach out im intending on opening a case. read more

Do Not Buy A Transmission From This Place!!! They charged me $5,000 for a transmission that I had to finance they said it would be new how ever, it was rebuilt. I thought it would last for a few years, it went up on me in 7 months. I had the car towed back to this shop thinking that the warranty would be able to cover it, but instead of them fixing it they blamed the problem on Bob Bell Nissan saying they sold them a bad transmission. I had to wait for them to go back in fourth with Bob Bell Nissan to see if they would take the blame and give them a new one ,They said no because Amoco transmission didn't program it right so they needed to replace it themselves, I had asked them about a rental car they told me the warranty didn't cover that so I had to wait 3 weeks with out a car to drive for them just to fix something on the transmission that the manger Joe said broke off. Asked about extending the warranty he told me he couldn't do it, but didn't give me a reason why this business I wouldn't recommend to anyone they are just taking peoples money and giving them bad transmission that their not willing to fix and the warranty is not good at all doesn't cover anything Please take your business somewhere else don't let this place rip you off!! read more

The first thing I would say is DO NOT GO BASED ON WEBSITE. Dropped my car off there because I was having transmission issue, got it towed there and upon arrival the building definitely looks a bit sketchy. There was no drop box there because I got it towed the night before. Met with Mr. Joe on Monday and told him of the issues I was having, he immediately took my keys and to be honest made me feel quite comfortable. No conversation about a charge to look at it. Now I'm out $250 for a problem that we already discussed was the problem. Also when my car was delivered my battery was perfectly fine, now not only that I have a dead battery that they have no idea that died. I returned for my car dead and building closed at 5:15 but says closes at 5:30. This was a terrible experience. ONLY GO if you have money to waste. This place is a rip off from the start! In December, my transmission died. Every knows this will happen if you have a car long enough and I understand that. At the time, my wife and I didnt have much money to spend to get the car fixed, but we knew we had to get it done in order to live and move around. We did ALOT of price checking with jack leg mechanics and side shop mechanics but we figured it wouldnt be smart to half way do a transmission. We figured, lets go to a professional shop that specializes in transmissions. My wife and I figured, lets take it to AAMCO .(bad moves begin) We get the car towed there, I talked to management, he sounded very legit and pretended to care. He told me that he could check the transmission, but it would cost $500 to take it out to inspect. I approved that, long story short, we get a call back saying its going to be a $2,500 job and if i want to get the work done somewhere else, that he would bill us $500 for taking it out and another $500 to put the broken one back in. By this time, we all knew i was in too deep to back out. Needless to say, we got the work done. AAMCO REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION!! The total came to $3,400. I figured, what the hell, rebuild the transmission, it'll be good for atleast a few years (WRONG) 7 MONTHS LATER, my car transmission is no good!!!!! It doesnt drive forward! i called the shop, told them the problem, and they tell me im out of warranty by 900 miles! Needless to say, they didnt try to help me out at all!! $3,400 7 MONTHS LATER, the transmission is dead again!!!! Something isnt right here folks! How can a place that specializes in transmission REBULD a transmission for $3,400 and 7 months later, i need another one! You're better off taken your car to a jackleg and taking a gamble. I thought me going to a certified name brand dealer, that the gamble was off! I will never recommend anyone to take their hard earned money to this place. They will rip you off! They tried it twice with me. Go to One Stop Auto, atleast they have a better warranty and a decent management company. read more

Man this guy Joe is great...I decided to have my transmission checked and oil changed since I put a lot of miles on my car as Uber driver...These guys were efficient and everything was done as promised price was even more reasonable than the dealer or Pep Boys...Joe is a stand up guy and I will be bringing my care back to him in the future... read more

It's hard to find a mechanic to trust and the first time I had Joe and his team at Aamco inspect my car, I knew I didn't want to go anywhere else. Joe's always been very transparent when it comes to options - always giving me a cheaper choice and explaining the pros and cons. On a few occasions, I have taken my car into him to check some things out that are outside of the scope of their normal repairs and he has helped me out gratis (like replaced a blinker bulb and fixed my glitchy radio). Recently, I took my car to him and he told me it was a front end alignment and tire problem and that was not something they do. What he did do was contact an associate of his, drove my car to this other mechanic to get an estimate, called me to give me the details and see what I wanted to do, called them back and went and picked my car up from them when they were finished. He didn't have to do any of that. He went above an beyond to provide such excellent service (that wasn't even his service). After this last encounter, I felt compelled to write a review. My husband and I have been using this team for almost two years and will continue to do so. I know I can count on them and that their prices will be fair (if not even surprisingly cheap sometimes). read more
