Had a transmission replaced in my mothers car who is 87years old picked car up the bent the backing plate and it was rubbing the rotor, the left the end link loose on the sway bar, also after a couple weeks the car would not start the left the negative battery cable loose ,then a couple weeks after that the car would not start again because the did not put the nut back on the starter cables at the solenoid. This place is absolutely HORRIBLE! PLEASE RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM HERE! They will keep your vehicle for 2+ days and when you get it back absolutely nothing will be done to it. All they do is waste your time & charge you for it. I went in for a rear main seal that was quoted over the phone to me $1800. 2 days later upon picking up my car I'm told $1854 because I'm using a card. Later I find my card charged for $1918.89. They went a step further as to forge my name on a reproduced receipt to make it look like I approved additional charges. Not only that they didn't repair my car & refuse to refund my money. They want me to trust them again to bring my car back so they can really fix it now after less than a month of going there for the first time. NO WAY! The trust is completely broken. I now have to continue every few days to add oil to my car so my engine can stay in tact. These people didn't care whatsoever about the position they put me in. If a friend didn't see the oil running out my car in the garage after they supposedly had repaired it I wouldn't have known sooner than I did. This could have brought great harm to me & my vehicle. I took it in for a 2nd opinion somewhere without telling them that AAMCO said they fixed the problem, how about they tell me the same repair need to be done. I asked if it looked like something was replaced or repaired, they said no. AAMCO HAVE SOME TREACHEROUS PEOPLE HERE. PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO AAMCO AT 796 HWY 20/81 MCDONOUGH, GA. YOU WILL BE SORRY! I will continue to warn people of this place. I'm working on getting my money back because I will never go back there again. I have a mazda 3 that had a small transmission transmission problem where it was on crawl mode. It would not shift to high from low. It was a solenoid problem. We took it to Hennessey mazda service. They kept the car for a few days. That was OK. They finally called us and said it was a solenoid problem and that they would have to take the transmission apart to replace the part which is inside the transmission case. It would cost $4000. We, of course said no way. We had already trouble shot the problem ourselves and knew what it was before they told us. We later brought it to this Aamco. The place was tremendously busy but they took us in and looked at the car. First off, he said that it needed fluid. WHAT? He then cleared the codes. He came in and told us, "it's all good". Again, WHAT? He said "it was good". Just needed to be looked after, until the seal is fixed. Nice! We tried to pay for the time and he refused where it cost us about $150 at mazda to get nothing. This AAMCO saved us $4000 bucks. Now i have a little time to go get this fixed for a few hundred bucks. I would let these guys fix the problem but we are from out of town and don't live here. Dropped my car off for transmission issues and were told 4 days later there was nothing wrong. Even tho i went to Hyundai. The professionalism/communication is TERRIBLE. They said to just pay but not realizing they didn't do their part in communicating prices and things of that sort. Shane was very rude! They expect u to just read every paper they have hanging in the office to know how their business runs. Came out of nowhere and asked me to pay a $93 diagnostic fee IF u decline repairs. 103$ if u use cash. I've never heard of anything like this smh. Nightmare!!!! Totally unsatisfied!!! I dropped my car off on a Thursday, June 11th to be exact, for my A/C not blowing cold air. I call in on Friday to get an update, no one has even looked at the car yet. Understandable, it looked busy when I dropped the car off. Monday, all day I wait for a call and update on my car, nothing. I call in around 2:30 and am told by the receptionist that they have taken my car on a test drive and she will call me back with an update when they are done. 4:45 still no call, I call back and Shane tells me what the issue is (Needs new evaporator core), and that's is a pretty big job, I should expect the car to be ready Weds, Thurs at the latest. I wait for a call Thursday until; about 3:45 (they close at 5). The receptionist tells me she will give me a call back with an update. At4:50 I call back because once again I received no call, to hear it will be done tomorrow for sure. I wait until Friday at noon before I call and ask if the car is ready to be told, no, it probably won't be ready until Monday. Now I am without my car for the last week, and I turned my rental in on Friday based of the word I got that my care would be ready. Monday, AGAIN, I wait for a call! NOTHING, I call in around 3;30 to hear he is almost done putting your car back together, give him an hour or so. At 5 pm, I get a call saying the car needs to be test driven and fluids filled back up. Tuesday at 10, give us a call. I call in Tuesday at 12, to hear, oh we had to have your steering realigned, try us back at 4:30. I finally get a call at 4 pm that my car is ready! I start the car and the air conditioner sounds like a helicopter in the car!!! Not to mention there Is a nice new scratch (Can tell from the pic this scratch is not 2 weeks old) on my driver door! Please save yourself the aggravation of taking your car to this place. Further more, I go to drive my car today, and the check engine light comes on, the cars starts to spudder, I take it back home (drove less than a mile), now the car will not start!! Several times we have had some serious issues with our vehicles to the point we though they were going to have get rid of them. Each time we come to this company they have address our needs, assistances us financially and have gone beyond and above addressing our concerns. This last car crisis occurred last night when my roommate's car was having issues with the clutch. I had my car towed to pep boys around the corner on Jonesboro road by the Kroger because it was over heating. Pep boys said it's the head gasket and it would cost me around 4000, my car is kinda old so I have replaced quite a few parts and was not going to pay for that again! If I could give them no stars and still write a review I would. I brought my car in around 9 am expecting to hear something around noon. However, that was not the case. I called around 1:00 pm as I had not heard from anyone and the gentleman I spoke to named Eric stated that Shane was at lunch and would call me back in about a hour or so. At least 3 hours passed by and still didn't hear anything so I called back at 4:30 pm because I had yet to hear anything about my vehicle. I spoke to Eric again, who graciously informed me that Shane had not looked at the vehicle and would call me prior to closing. I asked what time did they close and he stated 5 pm. Again, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and per usual they failed. I called back at 5:15 and Eric stated that Shane would be looking at the car and would call me back in 20 minutes. Let's just say that phone call still has not occurred. I will be picking my vehicle up tomorrow and taking it to a highly recommended transmission shop. If this is how Aamco does business I'm thankful that they didn't work on my vehicle because their customer service speaks volumes. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. If you take your car there don't be alarmed at the poor workmanship you receive because their customer service is piss poor. read more

Only giving it 1 star as there is no 0 star option. This place is a terrible unprofessional place of garbage. Stay away. Period. There are plenty of other good repair shops around the area. My finances' car sat in their garage for 4 days and only when I said I'd take it somewhere else did anything get done. And let me tell you. I wish I had gone elsewhere. They hastily installed a inferior quality part that not only didn't fix the problem, it made it worse. Then. The next day I brought i back for them to do more work on it and told them they had plenty of time as we were out of time on spring break. Over a week later I came back to the shop to pick up the car as they had done no work on it. The gal up front had to go jump it off as it was just sitting in their garage for over a week and the battery had died. Took it to a real shop and the problem was fixed in a day. Bottom line. Stay away from aamco!!! No help from the national customer service either! The worst part. Mr Shane kept lying at every turn saying there were gonna work on it soon. Or "its on the lift right now." Total bullsh*t. Side note. If they recommend you to a title pawn it might be a underhanded scheme to legally steal your car. Just a heads up. Their incompetence only pertains to mechanic work. Do not be fooled by these guys! 1.Never met deadlines on transmission repair (constant excuses on why) 2.Finally repaired transmission (less than 24 hours later transmission failed. (Stuck on side of road) 3.Turned back in vehicle only to wait even longer than the first time for repairs (more excuses) A courtesy call saying deadline could not be met would be nice. 4.Days turned into more days. Came by to see my vehicle all the way in the back of their building surrounded by other cars with no intent to fix . Upon asking why its behind there, I received more excuses. 5.Upon receiving vehicle back (2nd time) the next morning there was a transmission leak in and outside of my garage. Took it to Professional dealership to have it inspected. A. Bolts very loose on transmission (technician turning bolts with his fingers) B. Part of the transmission was assembled back together without a gasket. Very very upsetting experience! read more

Where do I start, maybe with the lawsuit. I just started the process today. Long story short, go elsewhere. CarMax is scamming and they are in cahoots with Aamco in McDonough (the transmission service people). They are passing people around for the money using useless transmission warranties that they don't honor. Within a month of me buying the car the transmission was toast. It was replaced with Aamco, a used transmission. Less than 60 days later here I am with Aamco refusing to fix the transmission and CarMax saying they don't care and it's nothing they can do. Aamco called me to talk about my brakes. So, today I've spoken with my lawyer already and he has started the paperwork. I will not be picking up the vehicle as I was advised not to. I was sold trash so they can take the trash out themselves. Remember people will do anything to get your business and nothing to keep it. Run from carmax. They are trash. read more

I needed a new clutch, These guys undercut my normal mechanic by 400 dollars and the quoted price was the price I was charged. Their front desk girl is delightful AND helpful. A bit of a drive for me to get to....but well worth it. I will be doing business with them in the future. read more
