They won't communicate with you. They will smoke cigarettes in your car leave trash in it. Your car will break down a few weeks later after you get it back. Terrible communication, management and customer service I have never seen from a company before. Story below: We had our Ford F150 truck towed into AAMCO back in February because it wasn't starting. AAMCO quoted $5270 for 2 new fuel pumps, all new spark plugs and ignition coils, oil change and full tune up to fix the vehicle. 1 week later we went to go pickup the truck after "fixing it", paid the $5270 and went to start the truck and it still wasn't starting. Gave them another 2 weeks and 2 additional visits to get the truck fixed. They said maybe it was a fuse issue, they fixed the fuse and the truck was still not starting, maybe a PCM issue. Said it was going to cost an additional 200+ dollars to fix. We said no we will take it somewhere else to get fixed. Towed the truck to Ford service center, they replaced the low pressure fuel pump and said that the wrong Fuel pump had been put in by AAMCO. AAMCO said they would refund us for their mistake, they still have not as of writing this review in June. read more

Friday January 12th I had my Honda Odyssey towed here. The CV axle broke off the joint on the right front wheel of my van. As luck would have it the lift broke so the techs weren't able to look at my van until the lift was fixed on Monday. I got a call Tuesday that the transmission was good, and the left side CV axel was good, but I needed a new CV axle on the right side and that we would need a transmission flush as well. We agreed to both things. We got another call telling us that the van was finished and we could come pick it up. When we arrived, we were told we would be charged a 3% fee for using a credit card. I let the manager know that he could make people aware of this fee ahead of time so they can come with another form of payment. He didn't understand why this was upsetting to me. This was a fee that could've been avoided if he would've mentioned it on the phone. We also asked if a military discount was offered and were told that the company does not offer them to retired military. We got in the van to leave and when we put it in reverse, it made a repetitive clicking sound. I went back in the store and tried to find the manager and couldn't find him. It took a minute, but after a tech came out and sat in the van to hear the sound, they took it back into the shop. They said it is now a transmission problem, and it will have to be rebuilt. This will cost at least another $1000 and take another 3-5 days. The manager first told us that before we came the tech took the van on two runs on the freeway and some drivetime around town, but they didn't hardly drive it in reverse that's why they didn't catch the problem. We barely got in the van to leave and put it reverse and could tell it had a problem. This was after being charged $2,083.02 for a non-working vehicle. The manager DeVante told my husband that sometimes when the techs put the CV axles on, they knock the transmission gears out of place. He admitted that the mechanic's mistake is what caused the transmission to need a rebuild. We've never had an issue with our transmission before taking it to this shop. To say that I'm not happy about the service is an understatement. If we were quoted this price before the work began, we would have made different choices. The shop has be sending our calls to voicemail since they told us it needed a transmission re-build. My husband stopped by today and was quoted another $4,500 for their mistake. The manager went as far as saying that we broke if after they fixed it and we didn't even make it out of the parking lot. We only put the van in reserve and it made a sound so we walked back into the shop. We tried emailing the owner two weeks ago and he hasn't responded to us. This is our family car we are going on being without it for almost a month now. Update- After dealing with DeVante for a month we finally got our car towed to another company today 2-14-24. It took calling the police to get our keys back. DeVante wouldn't release our car because of this review. He kept telling my husband that I needed to change it. Our family has been without our car because he is unhappy with our review. I uploaded a picture of our transmission so you can see that the teeth are broken off of our reverse gear not worn down. This is why we believe AAMCO broke our transmission. DeVante also charged us an additional $1181.95 to tell us the transmission needs to be rebuilt. I also uploaded pictures of the additional damage the shop did to our van. We took pictures of the condition of it when it was dropped off and this was it when we came to pick it up. You can see the chipped paint, stains, and dirty rims. If you have had a similar situation I would suggests filing a BBB complaint as well as an Attorney General Complaint. They had a certain time to reply to the BBB complaint. They choose not to. It will be documented as an unanswered complaint and doesn't look good for AAMCO. This contributes to the rating they get from the Better Business Bureau. read more

Nothing sucks more than getting in your car for your first day at a new job and your clutch goes out. It's 7 am and pitch black out. I called a couple of mechanics who said they were open, but they were all booked and unavailable. I called this location and they said 'NO Worries' and I headed right over. They had my car up on a lift and easily found the problem. I was able to get a rental car and head to work. They had my car fixed by the early afternoon! They also pointed out where Jiffy Lube had lied to me and showed me the new air filters Jiffy Lube said they put it. They were filthy and obviously hadn't been replaced. DeVante was super helpful and was everyone I came in contact with. I was able to pick my car up the next morning! The car's clutch works like dream! I felt like I can trust these guys, and I really don't trust anyone. read more

My transmission went out took it to Aamco was charged $967.06 just to have it inspected and be told it needs to be replaced they could not rebuild it becayse it was a Hyundai. They gave me 3 options all over $6000.00, so I started to call around. Found it cheaper somewhere else. When I called to tell them that I spoke to another person and he gave me a cheaper price and said he was going to use my $967.06 as a credit to the total price. When my wife picked it up they did not give me the credit so I was over charged fot it. It took me 16 days to get my refund. Will neevr go to this place ever again or refer anyone to go there. read more

Devonte and the team were great to work with. We are a full time RV family and had just arrived in Utah when the transmission in our truck literally blew up. Aamco had a tow truck arrive at our campsite (on a Friday afternoon) in about an hour and took it directly to them. By Monday afternoon we had a diagnosis and quote. We were even lucky enough Aamco had the exact transmission we needed in stock versus the dealership which wouldn't be getting one stocked for 30+ days! They got it installed for us right away and helped us get approved for financing so we could get our truck back quickly (1 week turn around)! Devonte even called us a couple days after picking the truck up to check in and make sure everything was going well with the fix. Thank you Devonte and team for a job well done. I should've read these yelp reviews BEFORE coming to this Aamco. Now it's too late and the damage is done. They performed, WITHOUT a signed authorization, $16+ thousand worth of repairs & warrantees on a vehicle valued in the $850 to $3,475 range. Though we settled for a $3,374 compromise on the invoice, just as I suspected, within a few hours of driving away the engine ceased (yes, the same engine they had just replaced)!!! I don't know if this was sabotage due to the settled invoice or just flat-out shoddy work. Brought vehicle back. THEY WOULD NOT WARRANTEE THEIR WORK, but they did give another estimate for even more repairs totaling an additional $1,653. They are NOT skilled mechanics, nor can they properly diagnose problems. Took my car there to get a transfer case seal replaced. They had a bit of a mishap with getting the right parts, sounded like it was a supply chain issue. Just had to have it replaced again with less then 20000 miles on their clutch. Had almost 100000 on the original clutch. Poor quality parts and poor quality work. Manny and his crew Should be called "Integrity Transmission Repair"! They're very polite, honest, I found them to do good work, reasonably priced, AND definitely have integrity! Those are traits hard to find in mechanics nowadays... even harder to find in people! I highly recommend them! I took my 4x4 truck into them knowing full well my transmission was shot. Them telling me that I needed a transmission rebuild was not a shock but the reasonable price was. I sincerely believe they wanted to find it to be a inexpensive repair and they walked me through the process so to answer all my questions. When we found all the metal in the bottom of the pan, that said it all. Other transmission shops had quoted me over the phone it would be as much as $4000 to rebuild my transmission for a 4x4 Ford truck. I was surprised when Aamco said it was only going to be $2200. I was having acceleration problems and my folks highly recommend Aamco. So I took my 94 Crown Victoria in. This shop is a very honest and thorough place of business. I highly recommend! If your vehicle doesn't need it, they aren't going to try to sell it to you. Great place for a second opinion too! Another shop told my mom she needed tons of work on her car. My dad said "I don't think so" he took it here and they said he was right! They could have collected lots of money and didn't! So let me begin by saying that AAMCO is a big car repair corporation and that being said, all locations are franchises owned and operated. They must follow AAMCO pricing and rules, but all operate differently. I had so many bad experiences at other AAMCO's due to negligence and greed. I must say that this shop is not like those AAMCO's. After I had an AAMCO install the WRONG transmission for my vehicle, I brought it here for repair. I learned I was out of warranty and that it would not be covered. Devante, who worked the front desk of the shop, pleaded with corporate to give me a discount on the proper transmission, which costed far more than the first repair. After corporate refused to give me a substantial discount due to "COVID", Devante's shop took one for the team and took some of the cost. I must say he was really looking out for me after my bad AAMCO experiences. The work so far has been good. Will follow up on this review if anything breaks down, but with what I've seen so far from the service, it shouldn't. read more

Absolutely horrible experience...please whatever you do do not trust these people. I am praying the work they did was done well and that they are only crooked about the money because God help me if I have to go back for "warranty work"....first of all we took our van there hoping to be able to rebuild the transmission after we had already gotten a quote from the dealership to replace the transmission. The quote from the dealership was a lot of money and that made us sick so we thought we would try to rebuild it instead. They said it is $99 dollars to diagnose then called my husband and said they weren't able to diagnose without opening it up and that to open it would be at least $700 and boy do I wish he didn't agree but he did so they did and then said it was not rebuildable and would need to be replaced so they gave us 3 quotes depending on the quality of transmission and even the lowest quality was $1,700 more than the dealer quote so I called and told them to close it up we would have a tow truck come and get it and pay them their $700 and they told me to get them a quote from the dealership and they would match it, so I did and they reviewed the quote and agreed to it. Then they call my husband up saying a part was left out of the quote and that they wanted another $1,500 and that they have already done all this work so to stop now we would owe them a lot of money; they had us over a barrel by this point. We verified with the dealership that told us the part they were saying wasn't in the quote was all one piece and that it was definitely in there. They said they would have done it for the quoted $5,000. My husband tried to talk with them but they were absolutely not going to try to work it out. Then the guy was extremely pushy and rude trying to get me to pay him over the phone calling me a liar about my credit union not being open so I couldn't pay at that moment (its a really small credit union and you have to call to allow that much to be spent, and this was after 5 on a weekday)and with no invoice even! In the end we paid them the $1,400 more than we would have the dealership. Please for the love people do not trust this business!! We were so stupid for doing so and we literally paid for it. read more

This place is in serious need of guys who know what they are talking about. These guys took my car off the premises without informing me. I would have said fine if informed, after my car was looked at and a reason was found. When I asked where my car was being taken (while in the waiting room I saw it being driven away) he said they take some cars for test drives! Some cars???? What does that mean??? Some cars??? He also said some techs do test drives and some don't. So what makes them decide which cars need test drives if it hasn't even been looked at first???? In Utah, inspection states if a test drive is necessary, the owner is to be informed and told a reason after the car has been assessed. No one has the right to just take your car and drive it...though one of the rude so called managers argued they can. Nope. read more

Liars and thieves, they had my car for three months returned it to me with a check engine light on even though I had paid them 6200 for a engine. They blamed it on something other than the engine. I immediately took it to AUDI and they confirmed the damage and unethical practice of this shop. They said I had leaking valves which was causing the check engine light, I had a damaged crank shaft, missing hardware such as bolts and screws. They even put in after market products in when even their own invoice acknowledged I was having OEM parts put in which is original Audi parts. According to Audi I got a backyard engine also my crank case is destroyed either by them taking my engine out or putting it in. I went in for an oil consumption issue the problem was the piston rings and their remedy was a new engine. It gets worse they refuse to honor their own warranty their own poor workmanship and parts. They have stooped so low to contact all other AAMCOs in the state and tell them not to honor it either. Even though their website clearly states any AAMCO you go to as long as it is 40 miles away from the original shop will honor the warranty. It is funny and bizarre how every single one I went to referred me back to Ogden shop. like I would ever take my car back there. One AAMCO actually said he couldn't honor it because there was nothing to honor. The damage was so bad he couldn't even tell anything had been done even after I showed him the invoice. I am now in the process of suing them. I am out thousands and thousands of dollars and now sit with a broken car with a check engine light that was supposed to have a engine put in. It is in worst shape after getting back from them then it was when I dropped it off to have them fix it. They are rude, they don't answer or return calls, they lie, and deny and they take advantage of the fact that not all of us know anything about cars. If I wouldn't have taken my car to AUD and pay 400 dollars for a two hour diagnostic to verify the extent of the damage AAMCO caused I would have no clue what they did to me. They prey on people like that. Shady and unethical shop don't be their next victim. This is my opinion stay away to stay safe and to protect your investment and you hard worked dollar. Unless this AAMCO has a magic way to take a transmission out and disassemble it without disturbing any of the grease on the bolts, they screwed me out of $549. They called and told me they were going to need to disassemble my transmission and afterwards told me I needed a new transmission. It wasn't worth the money to put in a new transmission so I asked if I could come pick up my car that day, leave the transmission out and we would just tinker with it and see what we could do. They told me for liability purposes they had to put my transmission back together and then I could pick it up the next day. We checked it out and that transmission has never been out of my vehicle. When we called the manager out on it he flat out lied to our face saying he saw it with his own eyes out of my vehicle even though we have pictures showing that the transmission hasn't even been touched. They charged me $549 to basically let me park my car in their lot for a few days. read more

I was on my way to Idaho from Salt lake city and my transmission started leaking to the point that the car didnt move at all, I called my sister to look for an Auto shop in the ogden area and told me to go to AAMCO, I called first, the towed the car for free, got me a quote very fast and fix exactly what was wrong, they could of easily sold me a transmission but isntead they fix the hose that was broken and did a transmission service, after that made it to Idaho and back, car drives really well.. read more

Recently I had to take my car in to get my water pump and timing belt replaced with a coolant flush. After making some phone calls, I decided on using Aamco. Upon arriving at the shop, I was greeted by Matthew, the shop manager. We went over the scope of work needing done and Matthew was able to beat the competitions prices by a significant amount. I was assured my vehicle would be ready by close of the business day and was offered a ride if needed until it was ready. I had brought a friend with me so we left the shop and I was told I would get a call when my car was ready. As promised I got a call around 4PM that everything was taken care of and my car was ready to be picked up. I returned to the shop and again pleasantly greeted. Once I paid my bill and signed paperwork, I was walked out to my car and on my way. As a female, I appreciated the fact that Matthew was very helpful in answering questions I had and also in only doing work I needed done and not trying to gouge me for money I didn't need to spend.
