Really really bad. We went out of desperation because we…read morewere passing through on a Saturday evening and everywhere else was packed. Nobody was here (6pm on Saturday), which should have told me to not go, but I starving. It's in the back of a grocery. It was super dirty inside. The floors, walls, just everything was dirty and dingy. My hunger made me think "maybe this will be a surprisingly good hole-in-the-wall situation". They had no music and these two loud beeps that happened constantly. The server was sick and sneezing and sniffing. The food took forever. Plates and silverware were wet; a puddle in the plate. Portions were small. My goat was 50% bones, not meat on the bones, just bones. The rice was dry and clumpy like it was reheated in the microwave. Nan was crispy. Normally I eat very spicy food but my stomach had been weird so we asked for 5/10 and my dude was literally sweating. It said it was a tomato sauce but this was just a bland brown flavor with cilantro. We couldn't eat but 2 bites. Paid full price and left. Luckily she didn't ask how it was because I was prepared to be honest. I think she knew. I didn't know it could get so bad. How are they open? My new low standard will be "well at least it's not as bad as the Indian restaurant in Fairfield!"

Large stuffed dumplings, dishes with layers of flavor and spice (but not heat, per my request). Attentive, friendly, service, and culinary options that are (were at that time at least?) rare to find in the region. Meeting my mentor here for a meal was such a pleasant surprise, this small strip mall location delivering some seriously great food. We each ordered appetizers, and multiple dishes, and between the two of us we didn't have a bad bite. Now, I can't remember exactly what we ordered.... but I'm more than willing to go try a few new things next time.

The food was DELICIOUS- I got the chana masala, garlic naan, and a mango lassi, all of which were some of the best I've ever had, and my dining companion got the chicken chow mein, which they loved and said was elevated by the two types of onions used and the lime on top. We both are wusses and only got the spice level of two- I personally would go up to a three or four next time, and my dining partner said that they would stay at a two (their spice tolerance is lower than mine). With tip, we paid around $42, which we felt was very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. The restaurant was very empty on for a Saturday night- when we walked in around 6:00 PM, there was a couple that was packing up to leave, and a few delivery drivers came in to collect orders, but for the most part, it was just us, which needs to be rectified, as Hot N Spicy Restaurant and Bar is truly fantastic. The only thing we could think of was that the location wasn't optimal for attracting attention from potential customers passing by (it's in a strip mall, sandwiched between a Goodwill and a Habitat for Humanity ReStore), and people just don't know it's there? Overall, we can't wait to come back, and we're excited to tell all of our family and friends about this hidden gem so that they'll come try it too!

This one was weighed and allowed to remain. Their frozen cream is sorcery--soft where ice should harden, warming the spirit though born of cold. No matter how long it rests in the deepest keep, it returns whole and unbroken. This bears no relation to the Golden Arch Tavern, where standards are discussed but rarely enforced, and where the ice-cream machine is so often fallen that many believe it legend. I conclude that High King Richard Graeter cannot be merely a man. Such mastery suggests knowledge beyond the common order--mystic arts, dark arts, or something older still. He is kin in spirit to High Wizard Jungle Jim, whose robes and spectacle stand as proof that magic yet walks among us. I favor the hall of House Graeter within the Vale of Spring, though high kings and common folk alike speak highly of Fountain Square, where this house holds court before the realm. The stewards of this house are attentive and gracious, serving with a care that suggests pride rather than obligation--a rarity in this age. Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip bears my seal--balanced and exact. Boldly Bearcat stands as a loyal companion, never the crown, yet always welcome at the table. When Graeter's is set before me, my stomach knows no bounds--and neither should yours. Let it be entered into record: the House of Golden Tongue stands with House Graeter against any foe. 10 out of 10. -The Food Lord, House of Golden Tongue
