Look no further, you've found your HVAC company in SoCal! Came home on Jan 4 from a HOT SE Asia trip to a COLD house in SoCal, the 32 year old gas furnace had given up while away. AARD rescued me, and FAST. They came to my house on Friday night at 6PM. Spent 30-45 minutes inspecting my system and diagnosed it as repairable. I decided to forego another repair and Monday morning they started construction and installation on a new fancy Japanese heat / AC system, the Daikin One. Our AC unit required repair after a company installed an unnecessary pump for the primary and secondary drainage lines. The pump seal had broken during AC use, and had sprayed water throughout the attic causing damage to the interior walls and ceilings down through the first and second stories. After having another company come out and diagnose the issue, we were told that a new pump was required and it would have to be ordered. The pump and work all together would be about $600-$700. One of the plumbers we had working in our home took a look at it. He felt the pump installation was crappy in the first place, and also felt the pump wasn't even necessary. So, I decided to contact several HVAC companies to come out and take a look. While searching through Google reviews, I came upon AARD Mechanical Air Conditioning & Heating. They had over 400 reviews and had a 4.9/5 rating. It also said on their website that they don't charge for a diagnostic look. So, I scheduled an appointment for the next day. Fortunately for us ( and unfortunately for someone else!), they got their appointments and addresses mixed up and showed up to our home that afternoon. After climbing up into the attic and diagnosing for about 10 minutes, the 2 employees found that the P-trap connected to the AC unit was clogged (which hadn't been replaced for 20 years since they built the house) and that the pump wasn't necessary. After another 30 minutes of replacing the P-trap and testing to make sure their wasn't any leaking water, the our AC unit was restored to its wintery cold glory inside our home! I can't say enough about how impressed I am with the gentlemen that came in and fixed our AC. They knew what they were doing, they were absolutely honest, and they didn't try to upsell us on anything. After they left, I called their office to tell them how professional they were and the awesome job they had done. I had an ongoing issue with my newly installed mini split. There was a leak causing the cold and hot air from staying at the set temperature. Professional in every way. Showed up in mask and booties and gloves that was a plus given the pandemic. Andy was diligent and detailed. He fixed our units compressor and explained why it went out. Our motor was filled with dust and pet hair. We had just fixed this issue about a year ago, the other company didn't look at the motor fan. It wasn't getting an air flow which caused the compressor to burn out again. Andy cleaned it all up for us and as well as the outside fan unit. read more

I've had AARD come out on numerous occasions for basic servicing on a few mini-split systems. The cleaning rate is quite reasonable especially if you buy the multiple visit deal they have. I did have a tech who was not as experienced the first time (couple years back) so I made sure they sent experienced techs for following visits and have had great experiences so far.
