WOW, this company is AMAZING!!! I called because of the GREAT reviews and now I must write one. My house lights were flickering and the power in my garage burned up my Garage Door opener. I called AArdvark Electric and right away Frank (owner) answered and told me to do a number of trouble shooting things myself to see if it was anything myself or ComEd could fix to save me money for a house call from him. Well, I still needed the house call from AArdvark, so I called for them to come out and he sent Chris. Chris immediately identified that the main neutral was the problem so he began to replace that when Frank came by to check and make sure everything was going well....they fixed some other problems and stayed until the job was completed to the highest standards. Well, the flickering lights still were occurring so Frank called ComEd and started a work order...ComEd found a loose connection and we thought everything was solved, but then my garage power went out after ComEd came by...Frank advised me to keep calling ComEd and they eventually replaced all my overhead wires and connections...they were satisfied that everything on the outside was good, but I still had intermittent power in the garage...I called Frank again and he was willing to come out late on Thursday before Easter, but I told him I needed to go out and that I would call after Easter. That's what I love about this company...He is in constant communication with his customers which is rare now-a-days... Today-the day after Easter- I called and Frank answered even though he is REALLY sick. He sent Chris TODAY who immediately found out that I had a short and found the right connector box where it was occurring...he further found out that the people who I bought the house from had no neutral going to my garage but made the ground my neutral which apparently no electrician would do...(did I mention that my house was a foreclosure when I bought it?) Chris fixed everything and all is good now at my house and garage...Frank and Chris are amazing I will recommend this company to anyone!!!! We returned home from a holiday trip to find some electrical problems in our kitchen that we could not correct on our own. When we called Aardvark, Frank made some suggestions that we could try without us having to hire him to come out to the house. We ended up needing him, since we still could not fix the problems. When he arrived, he quickly explained his service fee and hourly rates. He quickly fixed our kitchen problems, then diagnosed and fixed 2 other outlets that we asked him to look at. His rates were fair, he did not mind that I asked questions. He even made some suggestions for things that I could fix on my own and save myself money. OK, so my story .... my Well water stopped, I called company that fixes Well in our area, they came and informed me everything is fine but the issue is electric related, I checked Yelp right away, called a few companies with 5 star reviews, no one picked ( this is around 9:15 am Monday ), some even picked phone and put it down right away, then I dialed Aardvark, Frank picked up, he was very polite, understood the problem, told me he will be at my location around noon. Showed up exactly 12:00 pm, even texted me that he was on his way before coming. Informed me of charges upfront, started by inspecting Control panel, then he went in my crawl space then Attic ( interesting ...right ? because these are Well pump wires running in my Attic ..huh ...that's an old 1960 house) and said he needs a second guy to fix my wiring but told me that I will be charged for one person only and for the time the job is being done and not for the time he is away. He left after about 1 hr of work and got another guy to pull the bad wires and install new ones. Job was done on same day and charged me based on his time, even fixed a few other minor issues my house had without extra charges. I would recommend him for his Honesty, Skill, Knowledge, experience, good and reasonable rates, Humility and great customer service. read more

We called a handyman, an electrician and they both claim that they can fix the problem. Both started the job by checking it one by one and their time is also running $$$. But both abandoned it saying the job is too big for them. Then we decided to look for an electrical contractor in the Internet. Aardvark electric only have one review.... Honest and Fair. We lost power in part of our house on Sunday night. I called Frank Boss at Aardvark Electric on Monday morning. I explained to him the problem and he took the time to speak with me for about five minutes. After telling me the likely problem he asked me if I wanted to try repairing myself or he could come out and take a look. First, I was grateful Frank took the time to talk to me in everyday language about this electrical problem which I thought was going to be major. Second, Frank did not take advantage of my lack of knowledge to gouge me. He told me up front there would be $119 service call charge. For me, it was worth the peace of mind I would receive to have a qualified electrician handle the problem. I decided to have Frank come out and take a look. He arrived right when he said he would. He took a look and fixed the problem within twenty minutes. I asked Frank what I owed him and said let's call it $80 and if the problem reoccurs we can use that towards the service call charge when he comes back out. Frank Boss of Aardvark is great! i had a buzzing sound coming from our electrical panel and he was able to help me trouble shoot the problem on the phone before he even came out. this is a first that a technician of any kind that actually answers the phone much less helps explain to me the possible reasons for the buzzing and that his services might not be the correct one for the job. he suggested i check my sump pumps first to see if they were pulling too much power and that being the real reason for the buzzing sound, all while giving his time and waiting on the phone as i ran and did this. i usually get a dispatcher of sorts that answers the phone and just wants to send someone to check it out, and of course the person on the phone never has knowledge of my problem or what I'm asking about. Frank is a keeper, he came within a couple of hours of me calling and stopped the buzzing immediately. he will be my first call if i ever need electrical work. read more
