On Christmas Eve night, our garage decided to get stuck about 2 feet open. Wouldn't budge either direction. Car trapped in garage, family Christmas gatherings to go to. BIG problem. I called up Aaron Overhead Doors *afterhours on Christmas Eve* and a) someone answered from the company (!), and b) Larry the owner called me back within an hour and said he'd be by the next day ON CHRISTMAS DAY! He checked out the situation and sent over one of his techs who was able to fix it within one service call. Flash forward to another holiday, President's Day weekend, now the garage closes only when it apparently feels like it and certainly not when you have an appt. to go to. We called on Thursday late afternoon and they were out the next day. Fixed it in one service call again and taught us what to do if that ever happened again. I learned from Larry about a battery backup we could install to allow us to use the garage door opener in these frequent power outages on the Monterey Peninsula. Larry came back the next day and installed it. I will feel much less vulnerable in power outages. For all these reasons, I highly recommend Aaron's Overhead Doors. We wouldn't hesitate to call them again -- and I know they will come straight away. read more

Feb 2017======= It was 5:30 on a Friday night; the power was out & I couldn't release the garage door opener to raise the door manually. I called Aaron Overhead hoping to schedule a service call early in following week. Instead I was immediately patched through to Larry who was at my house within the hour! A spring was broken & he offered me a choice to replace it on the spot or wait til morning. I opted to wait for daylight. He arrived promptly the next morning & the new spring was installed in short order. Sunday night a cable on our garage door popped off the track. The door was hanging halfway down and halfway up. We put tarp across the bottom and slept with one eye open all night. That night and the next day we put in two emergency calls to Sears Garage Door repair. As of tonight, we have heard nothing back. By the way, this happened on President's day weekend. A friend told us about Larry at Aaron Overhead Doors in Monterey, CA. We live in Salinas. At 5:15pm, Larry was at the door and had responded to our request asap. He worked on the door for an hour and 15 minutes, replacing the wheels and realigning the door and cables, reattaching the garage door opener. We were extremely pleased to not have to replace the entire door and tracks. I can't tell you the peace of mind and the relief that we are feeling. We highly recommend Aaron Overhead Doors. A solid business. Larry is a pleasure to deal with, and adds a personal touch. Our old garage door near the ocean in PG was severely rusted and had broken cables. He came over promptly and was great. We considered a fiberglass or wood door to avoid the rust, but Larry pointed out I could buy several steel doors, each lasting a decade, for the same price. We ordered a green steel door; Larry said it would take about three weeks to order. After a couple of weeks, I called and we scheduled an installation exactly 21 days after the initial order. Larry and his workers arrived on that day when they said they would, and got the old door removed and the new door installed quite quickly. His workers were impressively efficient...there seemed to be no wasted motion! Within a couple of hours, we had a beautiful new door that goes up and down like butter. I have a very heavy and expensive custom garage door ( well over 600 lbs) that would not close Larry, who is local to my neighborhood, responded very quickly to my concerned call and arrived the same day. He quickly and professionally ascertained the problem. After multiple calls to his many suppliers, Larry was unable to locate these very rare heavy duty springs to lift this monster garage door. However, he graciously suggested I contact a competitor, (the San Jose company who custom built and installed the door originally) as they would most likely and indeed did have the much needed parts. They will do this major repair tomorrow as I really need this door working ASAP, but I will most definitely call again and use Larry (owner of Aaron Overhead door) in a year or so from now to do the routine preventive maintence on this very hefty door. read more

I've just moved into my place and called the company that originally installed the garage door opener for service but never heard back. Aaron Overhead responded immediately and quickly for a service call and to add some new openers. A few weeks later, the immense rains may have affected one of the sensors--another call to Aaron Overhead again resulted in a fast response and quick replacement of the damaged floor sensor. I called owner Larry Conte to set an appointment to look at my 25 year old garage doors which were not working well. Within the hour Larry returned my call and we set up an appointment. We talked about the garage doors and the motors. Larry then showed me what it would cost to replace the doors, motors, hardware, style, color of the doors and labor. Price seemed very fair. We then set an appointment to have the old doors removed and the new doors installed. On the day of the install, the crew was on time and did a great job on removal and install of the new doors and hardware. I called Larry friday morning and asked for a bid on getting a new garage door and opener installed. His office patched me through to him in the field. He came out that afternoon and provided a terrific estimate. Three days later my door was installed and ready to go. The old garage door opener power cord was duct-taped into a faulty socket and Larry offered to get me an electrician to fix it immediately -- $70 and 45 minutes later they were onsite and I had it fixed (all while I was at work). I highly recommend Aaron Overhead and specifically Larry. We needed repair on an older model door on our Carmel home. He quickly identified one of the problems: the hinges were originally stalled upside down on one side. No other repairman had noticed! He took less than a half an hour to fix everything and even took time to wipe decades of grime off our wall controls. We had him return a couple weeks later because the sensors had been knocked out of adjustment. It took him less than 5 minutes to repair and he wouldn't even charge us!
