Amazing apple fritters !!! That is all I am going to say! Get there early....because they sell out!

I usually shy away from donuts given the load of empty calories they pack. But on Saturday we stopped to get some apple fritters for an elderly lady we were going to visit. So what the heck, we got ourselves an apple fritter and a jelly donut for good measure. Well what can I say but these donuts are truly outstanding. Plus, where can you get this kind of quality at $1.25 a pop? We will definitely be going back and sharing the wealth with our neighbors. read more

While the Apple fritters are delicious, the customer service sucks. Been a patron for 5 years and am tired of being treated like a piece of garbage. Over the last year or so every time I stop by, the counter staff has treated me like they could care less if I come back or not. Well im done....no more!! The best donuts in florida! They are always fresh and delicious!! Every time I go in, it's the same girl behind the counter and she is extremely friendly, knows almost everyone by name, and she's fast! There is always a line in the morning, but she gets everyone out quick. The chocolate frosted glazed donuts are ridiculously good. But they are all tasty! ***I do NOT like the Abbe's Donuts in Port Charlotte! Every time I go in there, it's filthy and the donuts are just not as good for some reason. We recently moved to North Port and were looking for a local donut shot. Abbe's didn't disappoint. The donuts are awesome. We love their vanilla creme donuts, but all of them are great. It's hard to choose! Fritters are wonderful if that's your thing. Pretty much, get anything and it's awesome. If you want to really blow your diet, this may be the place to do it, particularly if you're a sugar lover. At first taste, the donuts served here are fresh and delicious. After the first bite or two, however, the cloyingly sweet glazes and fillings can be truly overwhelming. Staff at this Abbe's are friendly and helpful and it's clear from the lines of customers out the door in the mornings and the ever-present loyal followers who occupy the outside tables that Abbe's won't be going out of business anytime soon. One might think upon seeing this every day that some sort of addiction is being fed here. If it's an addiction to sugar they may well be right! We could, over time, become true fans of this place. I have lived in North Port for 20 yrs and I will eat no donuts but Abbes, All the donuts are incredible and freshly made, they are so big it usually takes me two days to finish one and the apple fritters are to die for. Anyone visiting has to have Abbes and we make sure they have them during their stay... read more

The donuts are HUGE, but the people there seem to be really friendly...at least when i went. My kids aren't big fans, too rich for them but it's a great place for "adult" donuts. Friends will actually request these when we visit them so we will make a special trip :) read more

Abbe's is a cute little local donut shop with a ton of regulars - Staff are extremely friendly and some have been there for many many years. I love to stop here each time I visit the cute little consignment shop next door. Abbe's has a few tables and counter seating inside and several tables outside. There are a few other shops in the strip mall and a laundry mat - Russian grocery and a deli and a liquor store on the end, and a produce market. Usually good donuts but bought an apple fritter and a cinnamon roll today. Both were uncooked in the center (liquid), took them back to let them know - maybe an issue with their oven??? The owner told us not to buy them anymore from them. No apologies or concern over their product. First time we had an issue so I was really surprised with their POOR customer relations. I would have taken a photo of the Apple Fritters but I ate them too fast. They are simply amazing. If you live anywhere within 100 miles of this place, stop what you're doing and drive there now. Best doughnuts I have ever had! The apple fritters and their blueberry cake doughnuts are incredible! Any time we have overnight company, it is a must that we go get Abbe's doughnuts for breakfast and most of the time our company swings by the shop on their way out of town to get more to take home.
