I would truly give Abbott Plumbing and Drain 0 stars if I could. We have experienced a nightmare of a situation based on their con-based practices through a forced partnership through Landmark Home Warranty (please please steer clear of them - more on that below). Three weeks ago (three! weeks!) we opened a ticket with Landmark Home Warranty to replace our Water Heater that had died. It took a couple of days for them to get back to us, and when they finally did they had Abbott Plumbing come out to diagnose the problem. So far so good. Pretty normal or average experience, if not a bit slow to preference. Abbott determined that a new water heater was necessary, and collected the model number from us and went on their way, waiting for Landmark to order a new water heater. Once the water heater was ordered, Abbott picked it up and installed it in our house. Wonderful! Just one week without hot water. Manageable. Inconvenient, but manageable. ...except the water heater didn't work. The plumber scratched their head and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. "I'll need to take this error code back to Landmark as we diagnose the problem and make sure it's covered by warranty." A few days pass. We hear back from Landmark. The water heater they ordered and had Abbott install was not compatible with the flue system in our home. A compatible flue system is not covered under the warranty. So Landmark ordered a part and had that part installed by Abbott, who then told us we had to pay them thousands of dollars out of pocket to "cover the modifications" which aren't covered by our warranty company. We weren't notified of any of this before installation occurred, and are now cornered with an unwanted (and not functional) water heater. 5 calls and two more weeks later, we still don't have hot water in our house. We're calling a new plumber and cancelling our policy with Landmark immediately. It's a con job, guys. Please please don't give them your money. So disappointed and disheartened by this whole experience. read more

Randy has always been very honest and forthcoming with costs. He has actually charged me less than originally quoted at times. He comes out promptly when available and has always fixed my plumbing issues. I can't say enough great things about Abbott Plumbing and Drain. I will continue to use this company in the future if need be. read more

This company is a complete and worthless joke. The other horrible reviews are true and we have experienced this disastrous service . Abbot Plumbing is a contractor for American Home Shield Warranty company and they are scraping the bottom of the barrel with Abbott. No response, no return calls. I have been a contractor for over 12 years and I recently hired Randy at Abbott Plumbing for a small job. Not only was he very unprofessional, he also tried up charging me during the job multiple times even though he is the one that gave me the original estimate saying this job was under bid and should of been over $10,000. Also, he kept pushing my job back... a 2 day job took over 2 weeks to complete. I have worked with multiple plumbers and sub contractors over the years and I have got to say that this company was absolutely the worst company I have ever worked with and I have worked with some really crappy sub contractors. I feel like the true test of the quality of a business is how they handle a situation when it goes wrong. Randy was above and beyond responsive, helpful, and took care of the entire problem with unparalleled professionalism. I can not recommend him and Abbott plumbing enough! The context: an understandable problem happened with the subpump that one of Randy's technicians installed which caused flooding in our basement. I called Randy to let him know and asked what to do and he was able to talk us through a temp fix while on the phone. He then insisted on coming over early the next morning- he assessed the problem, executed a solution to the problem that caused the flooding, contacted a company to handle the drying and repair and covered the cost. Through the entire process of returning our basement to usable he was super responsive to calls and texts and helped us work through the process. It was truly a demonstration of how he stands behind their work and I'm so impressed by the empathy and professionalism shown throughout this process. I can't say enough how much I appreciate Randy and will be sticking with Abbott plumbing for any other projects/repairs we have. read more

Avoid this company like the plague! They are extremely unprofessional and uncoordinated to the point that they can't even manage a job schedule. They do not show up for work as scheduled and they are used by home warranty companies. My home warranty charged me $60 for this company to diagnose a leak that is covered but they won't show up to fix the leak! 8 days and counting without a kitchen sink. read more

Steer clear of this company unless you enjoy wasting your time and/or attempted extortion. First off, the Abbott technician arrived more than an hour late without even a heads-up. Thirty minutes past our appointment I had to call the company to ask where he was, and only then did he call me saying he'd forgotten his tools (?!?) and would arrive in another 30. This was annoying, but not a huge deal. Things happen, right? When he finally did arrive, he spent about five minutes looking at the outdoor hose spigot that was spraying water into the crawl space underneath my house, then said he was going to call my home-warranty company to "make sure the repair was covered." I had talked to the home-warranty people about the repair when I called to request the service (and not incidentally paid a $60 service fee), so I was pretty sure it was covered, but no harm in double-checking, so sure... Turns out he wasn't trying to be helpful. He was trying to shake me down by telling the home-warranty company he needed to charge a $225 "access fee" or he couldn't do the work. Say what?!! A little context: My home-warranty policy states that contractors can charge access fees if they have to cut into a wall or something to reach a pipe or electrical wire. But that's not the case here. There's an existing opening to access the crawl space - it is how the Abbott tech was able to look at the hose-bib, after all! The guy clearly just did not want to do the job unless he could squeeze more money out of me and was counting on the fact that I'd already paid the home-warranty company's "service fee" to make me more pliable. A ridiculous negotiation followed, with me in my house, the Abbott tech in his truck about 15 feet away, and both of us on the phone with the home-warranty rep. I'm telling them that unless he's going to dig out a new basement for me, I don't see what this charge is for because he doesn't have to cut any holes or dig out anything to reach the leaking pipe. He's telling them he "can't" get into a tight workspace without charging a fee. (I mean, I totally understand not wanting to scoot into a dark, wet crawlspace to replace a pipe, but I also understand the difference between "can't" and "won't.") It would have been funny, but we were well into hour two at that point, I was late for work, and my kid was late for daycare and yelling for attention because had spent so much time on the phone trying to deal with this yay-hoo. The conclusion is about what you'd expect at this point. The Abbott tech drove off without doing a d&^& thing (not even closing the crawl-space access - thanks!), and I got to spend another hour on the phone explaining to the home-warranty folks why I shouldn't have to pay them a $60 "service fee" just for the privilege of experiencing a little light extortion. So if wasting your morning having absurd arguments about the definition of "access" sounds fun, call Abbott Drain & Plumbing! If not, steer clear. read more

It was difficult to reach them and them but once we got connected and they went to service the plumbing issue they were great. Lance was able to get the problem corrected, work with the warranty company and give me updates on exactly what the problem was. I think they just need to get back to customers in a timely manner but the actual performance of the job was exceptional. read more

Pretty much a waste of my time. I should have listened to the other reviews about poor schedule management. Although my initial call to Abbott was polite, getting any follow through was like pulling teeth. Constant promises of a text or call from the manager. Frequent reminders to send me the quote in writing, all to finally be received so late I had to hire services elsewhere. read more

I have used Abbott plumbing twice now. One for a home warranty issue on a garbage disposal and then another to install a water softener. Randy was great to work with and extremely competitive pricing. After he installed my water softener he took the time to educate me on how to use it, maintanace and signs to look for if there is any type of future damage what to do. He definitely is my go to guy for all of my plumbing needs. read more

This plumbing company is a contractor with Home Warranty. Their visit started off okay but quickly slid downhill. We had a simple toilet fix along with a shower mixing valve fix. The plumber came when initially scheduled to diagnose the issues. He said the shower mixing valve needed to be ordered and asked if okay to fix the simple toilet issue once he gets the shower valve. That was my 1st mistake to say that this was okay as it took too long to order the part and reschedule anything to be fixed. The plumbing scheduler said the delay was because Home Warranty ordered the part and did not notify them. However, the plumber knew the part came in because he told me on a Friday that the part was in and he said the scheduler would "likely" call me to schedule for Monday. No call on Monday. Instead, I called Home Warranty to find out what was the hold up. and they said they would notify the plumbing scheduler at Abbott that the part would be in. The plumbing scheduler (Desiree) said that Home Warranty had not notified them on Friday that the part was in (but their plumber knew???). I said that it was getting to be a crisis because nothing is fixed and we had moved stuff around inside waiting for the project because we work from home due to the pandemic and it is causing conflicts personally with no working shower and rigged toilet that has to he manually shut off to prevent overflow. They agreed to send plumber on Wed to fix the toilet but still no part for shower (they said when they went to pick up the part on Wed it wasn't there so had to reorder???). I called Home Warranty on Friday for update on the part (why is the customer having to track down status of a shower part?) and they said the part was in and that they would notify Abbott. Desiree called me to tell me she can't schedule as her scheduling system was down and she had no plumber available for Friday. I waited hours and still no update so I called Home Warranty again saying this is not working out. Abbott called me and said Home Warranty will find another contractor to assign. Nightmare! These two companies don't get along! Nothing gets done. read more
