Abbott Rd. pizza is a place that my girlfriend and I randomly ended up at one night and decided it would be a solid place to stop for dinner. This pretty basic pizza shop looks like most others with fairly baron walls excluding the large Buffalo Bills art they for some reason have hidden behind the trash. The service was a mixture of "meh" and non-existent. The gentleman who took our orders barely responded to what we said and once that was done we basically waited for 45 mins unsure if they even knew we sat done. I ended up ordering a calzone with mozzarella cheese, sausage, and meatball which is my go-to calzone 99% of the time. When the food finally did come out it was pretty decent, if nothing more. My biggest confusion came with the teeny tiny cup of marinara sauce they gave me with the calzone, As it was maybe enough for 1/4 of the calzone. Overall, I did not have a great experience at Abbott Rd. pizza and I don't think it's really a place I would come back to, especially with how much competition Buffalo has to offer, but who knows, this might be a solid local joint if you live down the street and plan on doing some carry out. read more

Today I ordered a chicken finger calzone with medium sauce on side. Well, I got red sauce inside and on the side and plain chicken fingers inside. No medium sauce to be found. I stopped here this afternoon for a whole cappicola sub. I ended up buying a two liter of Pepsi and two slices of chicken finger pizza as well. (They have chicken finger pizza you can randomly ask for by the slice, right when you walk in. They also have cheese and pepperoni and one other flavor too. I think it's plain cheese.) The chicken finger pizza was great. It's an oil base. The employee said to call ahead, if I want a blue cheese base. The cappicola sub was excellent. I ordered it with Swiss cheese, mayonnaise, oil, lettuce tomato and onion. It was fantastic!!! A few years ago, I had ordered a cheese and pepperoni pizza, wings, and gluten-free pizza, when I had friends over. Everything was great. We all loved the food. We ordered for the first time tonight. We had company over. We ordered family pack with hot wings and bbq wings. Also chicken fingers plain for the kids. Another small pizza with hot peppers. Everything was really good. We all enjoyed our food. Staff was friendly, food didn't take long. Crust was crispy and delicious. Would order from them again. I have been meaning to try this pizza for a while and finally got around to doing so. Ordered a large pizza half with onions and banana peppers and the other half had sausage on it as well. Staff was very friendly and the wait was quick but the pizza was disappointing. Such a huge pet peeve of mine to order and pay for extra toppings on a pizza and hardly get any. You tasted the peppers and onion every fifth bite, maybe. But perhaps an even more troubling thing was the lack of flavor on the pizza in general. Almost no sauce and the crust was dying for some salt. Bland and unseasoned in general. I'd maybe try something else from them? I don't know. Abbott advertises that they have vegan pizza. They do not have vegan pizza. They can make you a pizza without cheese and unlike most pizza parlors in town, their sauce does not have cheese. However, in my book, this would just be a cheeseless pizza. There are two ways I would qualify a pizza as vegan. First, you could offer a cheese alternative plus vegan sauce and crust. Alternatively, you could have the person answering the phone know what the word vegan means. I called and asked about the vegan pizza. The person answering the phone said they had a veggie pizza. I asked if that pizza had cheese on it and she said yes. I explained that they advertise having vegan pizza and she put me on hold. She came back and said any pizza to be ordered without cheese. This is when I asked whether the sauce has cheese and she told me no. They also advertise gluten-free pizza which when I asked if they had and they said yes. I should've asked if the gluten-free pizza is just sauce and cheese with no crust. There are several pizza parlors in town that offer vegan cheese, usually Daiya. In other cities there a pizza parlors that make their own cheese out of nuts or partner with a local vegan cheese maker to provide vegan pizza. In South Buffalo, when you order a vegan pizza from a place claiming to have it, you get a veggie pizza with cheese. read more

This is known as the philosophical pizza joint. As in "what's life really all abbott?" It has a sister location in Northern Ontario called "Aboooot Pizza." When I went here I only had to wait abbott 2 minutes for my slice, and it was abbott as good as you can expect from your random Buffalo pizzeria, I'm not saying it's abbott average, I'm just saying it's abbott as good as any of the other good pizzerias around and abbott this area. It's not as good as Imperial, but that's not what this review is abbott, is it. Good Pizza and Wings, but how can you really compete when you're on the same block, let alone street, as Imperial Pizza, one of the greatest inventions ever known to man. It's been a long long time since I tried Abbott, I'll have to stop by and check it out, but Imperial stands so far and above and beyond almost all other Pizzerias in Buffalo, that I haven't given it an honest 2nd or 3rd chance to impress me. I do remember thinking it wasn't bad at all, so I'll definitely stop by and try it again one of these days. I do believed they recently moved just down the street to a bigger and better-looking location. Buffalo actually has the best Pizza in the world - it's not quite like New York's, and not quite like Chicago's, it's an entity unto itself and it's the best I've ever had. Abbott pizza was one of our favorite pizza places since the days when it was on the densmore and abbott corner . But since its move , the quality has gone down. It takes a lot for me to complain , but after a few issues we are done with abbott pizza for good. One small issue we have had a few times is ordering 2 slices they put in 1 small box and the cheese always sticks to the lid , and then onto the wax paper divider . Not a big deal but just a frustration I'm sure others have experienced as well. This last issue happened this week. We ordered a couple slices of pizza and an order of bread sticks to split . After taking my first bite into bread stick, it had a strange texture . I looked closer it was some sort of rubber. Looked like maybe a piece of a finger from a glove ( or maybe something worse made of rubber ). So disgusting . I called to speak to a manager , not to get a credit or refund or anything but to let them know what happened. He offered to deliver a new order of bread sticks but I declined saying that if it was the same batch that I got this glove from then no thanks. I suggested maybe tossing anything that dough was used for out but I really doubt they did. I understand accidents happen , but a worker had to know a piece of glove broke off while making the dough , so why still use it!? So disgusting, I'm sure the health department wouldn't approve if this either. read more

It's been over a year since we ordered from Abbott Pizza because our order was never right. Well foolishly I decided to give them another chance a very simple order. 10 fingers extra crispy medium sauce $26.00. My husband returns home I unpack our meal and guess what no sauce yep no sauce on the fingers no containers of sauce nothing. I called and was told because "chicken fingers are pricey" the only thing the manager would allow is 5 fingers to replace the 10 that they screwed up REALLY. I know they're pricey I paid $26.00 for 10 fingers crispy medium it stated right on my receipt and you screwed up my order and won't fix it. You see it's not my problem you have people working in your kitchen that can't read but I guess you don't need customers to keep your business running and your doors open seeing you have zero customer service. Obviously you'd rather piss off a customer instead of correcting your mistake. Well like I said early on "I foolishly" gave you another chance and once again you screwed up a simple order. It's pretty good pizza. Nothing to write home about and if South Buffalo is your home there is plenty of better pizzerias to visit. The inside (dine-in) experience is clean and maintained. The staff kind and courteous. Prices are average for the area. But the pizza is meh. Same for the subs and wings. Not the end of the world if you're in a pinch, but I make it a point to go elsewhere when I have a say in the matter. read more

We hadn't ordered from Abbott pizza since it was in the old locations, so we thought we would order a pizza, because a lot of the local pizzeria places have fallen down on quality. We ordered a few weeks ago and were surprised at the quality. We had found our pizza place! Lots of sauce and loads of real mozzarella, at $16.30. We ordered another a week later, same thing. Great quality at the same price. A few days ago, on 9/11/20, we ordered the same pizza, with a single order of wings. When I picked it up, the bill was $36.00. Wow!! Those prices went up & the quality went way down. No sauce on the pizza, and very little fake mozzarella. Terrible!! Today I discovered Carbones on South Park in South Buffalo. $12.85 for a pizza like Abbott used to have. Finally found our pizza place!! read more

Went in there for slices at around 11:30AM over the weekend. I knew better but decided to go with their slices of pep and cheese. They looked a little crisp but I stupidly assumed that they would never have given me their old slices from the night before but they did. Pizza was stale, bland and old. What a shame. I've now had two lackluster performances from the Abbott Rd. squad in a row and there won't be a third. We ordered a catering pak for a party we were having, I think it was pack 3, had 30 pieces of broasted chicken, sausage, rolls, potato salad, coleslaw and then we added a tray of penne and sauce. It was fantastic! Everyone was raving about the chicken! I loved the coleslaw (and I'm picky with my slaw). They brought everything we needed including little serving utensils and we didn't have to worry about anything. Best priced catering around and delicious!
