Had a great slice! Absolutely loved everything about it. The dough was great and I loooooved the crust! Pepperoni had great flavor and added a welcomed hint of spice to my sweet slice. The bacon was REAL bacon and gave it the savoriness I was looking for, while the ham just rounded it all out. Sub roll was so over toasted- it was rock hard! Crappy. Then to top it off, I found a hair in my sub. Brown, curly hair..... wavy of sorts. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I placed an online order at around 3:15 AM. I ordered a lunch special. Half a sub, french fries, soup and a can of pop for $13.20. I ordered it for pick up for 12:15 PM today. I got there right around 12:15 PM and the cook was still working on my order. I looked around just a little bit, a very little bit and saw that they had two rooms for dining. The first one they had all the chairs on top of the table, so I take it. You couldn't sit in there, but then the other room seemed to be ready for customers. It wasn't the cleanest looking place in the world, but I guess it's fine. The pizzas that were in the front, for slices I'm sure, they didn't look very healthy. They look like they've been sitting around for a long time. They didn't look very good. But I did not have any of them, so my opinion really doesn't matter much there as to how they looked I got home and noticed that there was no soup in the bag, so I called Molinara's I spoke to the owner and he said I only get one or the other even though on the Slice menu and on their menu it says fries, soup or salad and a can of pop. That to me says you get Fries, soup and a can of pop. Or if you choose the salad, then you get that and not the soup. The way he said it though very rudely put it. He said he can't just give food away like that for $11. He said it's just one or the other and that's it that he's been doing this for 30 years and that's how it is. I found that to be very disrespectful and he was still wrong. In his head, yes maybe that's the deal. You only get one or the other, but on the app menu and on the paper menu When there's commas that means you get that and then if it says or then you have to choose between two items. If he was nice about it, it wouldn't bother me so much but he was not nice about it so he kind of pissed me off. The food was actually pretty good though. I got a half of an Italian sausage sub and it was very good. Their fries were very, very good. The pop on the other hand was pretty warm. Online all you can get is either a can of Coke, Diet Coke or Sprite. So you don't get much of a selection there when you order it from the app. I will probably order from there again, but I think only if I order inside the restaurant so I know what I'm getting and I won't be lacking something because they'll tell me right then what certain things come with. read more

We order from here often. We just ordered a Stinger sub and a Julianne salad. The salad was great nice and fresh! However, the Stinger! I can not even say it was a steak um! We have a menu at home and it says rib eye! Ummm NO! No flavor, we ordered thru door dash . There was no cheese but it was suppose to come with provolone.. No blue cheese or mayo and no option to add it online. That would have been fine because we have hot sauce and blue cheese at home . But... that meat they call steak. Never again! Decent first visit. Reasonable prices. All the subs seemed to have been made well. Everything was fresh and a good size. Crispy fries, if maybe a little heavy on the seasoned salt (which my fiancé is fine with), and your basic mozzarella sticks. They must have run short on them, because we got 5 in our order of 6, and the 6th was replaced with a pizza log. I was totally fine with that, but someone who doesn't eat pork may not have been. I would say just to mention to the customer that a substitution like that was made, bur no problem for me. We'll be back to try more than subs. read more

Ever since I bought my house and moved into the Tonawanda Amherst area Molinara's has been my number one favorite pizza place for a NYS style pie. Pizza is my favorite food and this traditional family run business does it right! My wife and I love the cheese and pepperoni with the semi sweet sauce- not too sweet but has that perfect zing in the sauce! This time we ordered a large semi sweet half cheese and half mushrooms and olives on our Lenten Friday dinner! The service was great- ordering it for a specific time and it was piping hot out of the oven right on time on my way back home from the gym! The pizza was excellent!! What we got: a Stromboli with ham and cheese, a cheese calzone with NO chicken, and chicken Marsala with cheese in the sauce. We called and we got ZERO apology. Their response to the marsala? I think we need a man on the inside of this pizza shop. We're going to have to put a Mole-in Molinara's. This used to be one of my favorite pizza places in Western New York. One of the true bastions of new york-style slices. I went back recently a couple of times and noticed that either the standard slipped or my standards went up. The slices were okay but we're more than a little dry, with very little tomato. Sausage is usually the way to go here but I actually like some of the buffalo style pizza in the region better than these slices. It's still just about five stars but needs more tomato sauce or something. This is a shame because for a long time these were in my top 5 - and definitely top 10 - slices in the area. Now they're still top 50 (and that is a compliment because there are so many good ones), but I wouldn't rush back here as much as I used to. And I didn't appreciate getting charged for 2 slices when I specifically asked for one (and he even said "just one slice?" before ringing me up). Yes, I did actually get the 2 slices, but they were nearly closing and probably weren't going to be sold anyway. Shrug. I remember customer service was nicer to me the first few times I came in here, too, a few years ago. I also didn't appreciate being charged for pizza sauce. Yes ok, it's fine, but in the context of also being charged for 2 slices... it was overkill. Lol. Still, the standard of the food is too good for it not to get 5 stars. And one iffy experience doesn't change all the good ones from the past. And as for the name of the place, as I said before: I knew a girl that was way kinkier than Richard Gere. This was an ok experience for me ordering out. We decided to try them on a whim by ordering a Pepperoni NYC style pizza, chicken finger pizza and fettuccine Alfredo. I'll kick off my review by starting with the pizza. It was ok. The crust was excellent but the cheese was not so good. Same with the chicken finger pizza. The fettuccine Alfredo was VERY buttery. It was literally swimming in oil/butter. Not sure what happened but we couldn't eat it. This spot wasn't awful but I wouldn't be inclined to try it again. I think if they opted for different cheese it could be a game changer. read more

This pizzeria has been my usual go to place for a good pie. NOT anymore. Beware After waiting over an hour on a recent Saturday pick up - I did not discover that this pizza was completely burned once I got home. How could this pie even remotely be considered eatable? Upon calling I was told to bring it back and the man on the phone would "personally make another one himself". I was NOT offered any additional compensation for my inconvenience, time or gas - let alone an apology. By now it's after 8pm - the new pizza was ready for pick up. When I entered a gentleman unaware of my problem was shocked that this item had even left the store ! A woman ushered over a replacement saying "you're all set" I examined the Pizza and found it not to be burned and learned how busy it had been all day; and she specifically cleaned the oven before this pie. I asked if there was anything else - waiting perhaps for a voucher / refund or something to encourage me come back in the future. Maybe a free dessert: to sweeten the bad taste I had experienced. But none was given. It is unfortunate that they are understaffed and it is obvious that they are trying to hire more people. HOWEVER Try to train these new people to provide customer satisfaction & service - otherwise you won't need extra help because your business will not survive with this terrible service and unacceptable product. read more

If I could eat pizza every day I would. I love pizza and I love a sweet sauce, which is hard to come by outside of Lockport. But, to my great surprise Molinara's completely nails it!! We usually get their large pizza and ten wings. We get the pizza made with sweet sauce, cheese and pep. The pizza is so good that my husband I can finish it by ourselves sometimes, and that's an accomplishment because it is NOT small. It's too good to stop eating! The sauce is perfectly sweet and they don't pile it on, it's a nice smooth layer. The cheese is plentiful and pairs well. And then the cup and char pepperoni nestle in for a long winters nap, and marry the cheese. It's heaven in pizza form. Also, the wings are the best pizzeria wings in the area. No joke! They are large and in charge. I would recommend ordering them extra saucy if you want a little sauce. Also, they make these things called "twisty dippers". Just order them. My Wife and I were looking for a decent New York Style pizza, and after reading Fox E.'s reviews of a few places we decided to try Molinara's. I put the order in through their website and was happy to see the Order was going to processed so quickly. While checking out the site prompted for some impulse purchases, and I was in the mood for wings so I added them to the order as well. I was unhappy to see I wasn't given an option to pick my sauce but completed that purchase anyway. So the Great: Molinara's staff was so very accommodating. When I got there and asked about the Wing saucing I found out that they were plain, but they offered to quickly sauce them up anyway that I wanted. They have one of Buffalo's better Wings, and the wings were crisp and very saucy. This was amazing, in fact they stayed crispy for hours. Between the staff and the wings they already earned the 5 star from me. They still provide cut carrots and celery with their wings, not that pre-packaged garbage! So this isn't that big of a deal, but it tells me they care about the product they are presenting. You don't leave the wilted, unappetizing pieces if you are taking the time out to fresh cut your veggies for your customers. It really is that little bit that tells me they go the extra mile for us. Then there is the Good: This Pizza was good, Spicy pepperoni, ample amounts of cheese, very saucy. It probably as close to NYC style pizza as you're going to get in WNY and is much like many of the other Pizzeria's that advertise NY Style pizzas.... Which leads me to the needs improvement: The tip of the slice was pretty limp. The pie we got didn't have the firm crust that I've come to recognize from pizza from NYC. Now to be honest a few minutes in the Air Fryer fixed that little issue, but I don't generally go to a restaurant only to cook the food more. Lastly the Blue Cheese...hmmm...it was sweet, not like the sweetness that can form from the cheese making process. It was like there was sugar added. This I wasn't a fan of, but since I had some Marzetti's Ultimate Blue Cheese at home, and that with the delicious saucy wings was a REAL winner. I'll order from them again. We were looking for a good new york style pizza and saw a review from a friend and fellow yelper and decided to try Molinara's. Their pricing is pretty on par with several other new york style pizza parlors. It was $49 for 20 wings and a large pepperoni pizza. There was an issue with the wings being sauced because my hubby couldn't find the option for it, but they quickly corrected it and spiced them up nicely on the spot. When we got home we sat down and tried it. My take was the sauce and pepperoni was perfect, there was a good amount of cheese, but the center of the slice was a bit soggy. The wings were delicious. Plenty of sauce and a good spicing on them. I wasn't really crazy about the blue cheese and felt it was way too sweet tasting. Worst food I ever had. Ordered a pizza sub by far the worst pizza sub that I ever eat. It wasn't cooked all the way, and the bread was soggy. Absolutely horrible. I also ordered fried mushrooms. They weren't cooked all the way all slimy and falling apart. I also ordered a chicken salad with honey mustard, and it was absolutely not honey mustard. It was just straight up mustard. And I normally don't complain or call, so when I did they said the owner left for the night you have to call tomorrow which I did and spoke to the owner about my experience and he said" Well you aren't getting a refund, I made the food myself so I don't know what to tell you." I had very high hopes for Molinara's, but, unfortunately, I walked away disappointed. First, the menu saved as a pdf when you search for the business using Google is 6 years old and has inaccurate pricing. The website is up to date, but it would be very easy for someone to click the link for the menu under the Google profile for the business and receive inaccurate information. The restaurant has a small dining area and what appeared to be a banquet room which was currently inhabited by piles of pizza boxes. The dining area was passable, with a television for the lunch goers to watch and was temperature-controlled. The pick up area was a different story. The area was uncomfortably dirty. There was what appeared to be dirt and grease on the walls. The duct work above the food preparation area was grimy and the vents had dust hanging from them. There was a glass display cooler holding desserts in plastic containers and some sort of unappetizing pasta salad of some kind in a large, metal, cafeteria-style tray. The inside of the glass in the cooler was covered in condensation, indicating that the display was not functioning correctly. As for the food. With any pizza place I'm trying for the first time, I always start with the same standard selection, a regular cheese pizza. Although it looked very good, the pizza was incredibly greasy and bland tasting. The crust was soggy from the grease and didn't have the signature bite that I associate with a NY style thin crust pizza. On top of all of this, a regular size NY style cheese pizza will set you back almost $19. For that price, it just is not worth it. There is far too much competition in this area that has better quality food for less money out of pocket. The only saving grace from a one-star rating was that the two employees were very friendly. One even held the door open for me when I was taking my pick up order to my car. Unfortunately, the good service is not enough to offset the overpriced, underwhelming food and establishment in need of a good deep clean. I cannot recommend this establishment. read more

Solid New York style pizza. The best thing about it was definitely the variety of individual slices for sale. I'd say there were close to 10 different varieties available on a Friday night. They even offered three different red sauce types to choose from: sweet, semi-sweet, and traditional. The service was great too. Unfortunately the flavor was somewhat lacking in comparison to the top tier of Buffalo pizzerias. Still, it's a good option if you want a break from Buffalo style or sweet sauce. Molinara's is an interesting, more authentic NYC pizzaria. Not your typical Buffalo place, but they do make the effort to cover all the typical Buffalo offerings too. It has a small dining area to the side of the pizzeria. Nothing fancy. No table service. There is some parking in the lot out in front of this strip plaza that it is located in. I've personally only had appetizers and desserts here. We love the huge stuffed pepper roll that they make here. I'm a stuffed pepper fanatic and when I learned about this amazing creation, I had to have it. Sausage and three cheeses- blue being one of them- is a spicy creamy tangy mass of deliciousness wrapped in the hot pepper and then wrapped again in pizza dough fried or baked and slathered in garlic oil with a sprinkle of grated cheese. An indulgent treat! The desserts have been underwhelming. Sitting in the case for too long. I couldn't even bite through the baklava. The pizza, as seen in the pictures, is not buffalo style. I don't find that appealing, so I haven't pulled the trigger. I am impressed by the fresh toppings and real slices of sausage. Maybe even 3.5, this was a yummy NY slice. Since its buffalo it was a good break from sweet sauce and thinner then what we buffalonians want in a crust but the flavors were good. ME and the hubby shared 3 slices they had on hand. It was nice they had a variety out to choose from. They were mostly typical fare but came in options of sauces ( sweet, semi and traditional). We got two traditional slices ( one pepperoni and one pep with mushroom) and tried a pepperoni/sausage and green pepper slice with the semi sweet sauce. I normally HATE sweet sauce. This stuff was tolerable, enuf for me to eat half the slice. It was crazy sweet to me tho, so i cant even begin to imagine what their actual full sweet sauce is like! We ordered a large pie and it was like a cross between NY style and Buffalo style pizza but leaning more towards Buffalo. It was way too dough-y for my liking. NY style pizza is supposed to be thin and crispy. When you pick it up, it should hold and be sort of "flappy." When I picked it up, there was so much dough. The pizza seemed undercooked as well. They just might have the best piece of pizza I've had in years. We all know that Buffalo-style pizza is slightly undercooked and doughy. If you get more than a few toppings, it can be very soft on the bottom, which I'd chalk up more to impatience or an inability to change the standard cook time in a pizza oven. Not the case with Molinara's, which is New York style, and therefore larger and thinner. We got a large pizza last week (16 inches versus your standard 12" large) with double cheese and pepperoni. While I don't even eat bare crust without sauce or cheese, the crust on the entire pizza was PERFECT. It was flaky, golden brown throughout and even dusted on the bottom with what I'm assuming is flour so that it didn't stick on the box. And the double cheese was absolutely worth the extra cost because we got a mountain of cheese. The pepperoni was spaced out and portioned nicely without skimping, and after three pieces, I had to walk the meal off a bit. Molinara's makes and incredible pie. I happened upon this place while I was walking down Sheridan and realized that I didn't know where I was. I walked into the nearest friendly-looking establishment to ask where I was, and was greeted by warm smiles and slices.
