Our family has been waiting to find a place like this! My husband is originally from NYC and is always on the hunt for good pizza and we were thoroughly impressed and floored at the quality of the food. The owner was so extremely nice as well. Don't forget your desserts on the way out! Delays and tiramisu were fantastic. We will be frequent returners!

Similar to Margarita with sausage, red sauce

Pizzas were fresh out of the brick oven. Delicious crust. Large portion. And chef even allowed my daughter to go in the back to help create our pizzas

DOP - Denominazione di Origine Protetta. It means the Forno brings Italy's ingredients to us! One taste and you know this isn't your typical Buffalo pizza. It's a refreshing departure from our norm. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE our regions pizza but, this pizza is different in a wonderful and delicious way. The DOP experience didn't end with the pizza though as we also had an amazing pasta dish and crisp, fresh salads. Italy in Amherst! Great staff. An all round wonderful dining experience.

We were in the mood for some pizza on our trip to Buffalo, and instead of messing around with what constitutes "Buffalo style" pizza or not, we just decided to punt and go for a well rated pizza place kind of near our hotel. Forno Napoli reminds me a lot of a pizza place I have in my hometown, the huge ovens, the wood and bench seating, use of fresh ingredients, etc. It passes the eye test. The pizza was indeed excellent, and the salad we got with it was fresh and bright. It had just enough char on it, some places go over the limit and it gets bitter. The sauce was very tasty, and the fresh mozz wonderful. No issues there, but holy crap, was it ever expensive! Over 50 bucks for a single pizza and salad is just too far. I definitely recommend this place on taste, but, just don't be surprised at the bill like I was.

Really not understanding the hype here. My cousin chums and I stopped by for a late dinner this past Sunday on our way back from the 9th Circle of Hell aka Niagara Falls, Canada. I knew Buffalo had a pretty legit pizza scene (I love 'best of' lists, and the ones I've seen for pizza around the country routinely highlight a few establishments from Buffalo) so I was eager to take advantage of our location. The first few that spoke to me were unfortunately closed, but this one had insanely high ratings and wasn't closing for at least 45 minutes, so off we went. I know NOTHING about Buffalo but this didn't seem like it was in the main area of the city - this was a newer, gentrified-looking strip mall/shopping complex that seemed to be catering to nearby college kids based on some of the other businesses nearby (which included an Insomnia Cookies and a ramen place - perfect 2am cuisine). Not a negative necessarily, but a college freshman isn't as likely to have my pizza or just general food palate. It was easy to find and we wandered in with plenty of time to spare (more than we thought, given that we saw people ordering food within literally a few minutes of the 8pm closing, so that closing time could be flexible at least for to-go orders?). This was much more casual than I was expecting, which also lends itself to the college kid business model. We went up to the counter and were told that upon ordering someone would bring out our food, but it wasn't a formal wait staff situation at all. Case in point - when my food was ready, an employee opened the door to the outside area and hollered my name so she knew where to go. Later on when we needed a few to-go boxes, I just helped myself to a DIY pile toward the back of the restaurant. Again, this is definitely not a con but if you ARE looking for a more standard Italian pizza/restaurant setup, this might not be your jam. I saw no reason to complicate shizzle and got a Margarita Pie. Honestly, just okay. A big reason for that was the sauce, which (and this is a personal palate preference) had a lot of tomato chunks/slices in it, which is not my favorite. The cheese was fine but they put a ton of garlic seasoning on it, almost like they didn't trust it to hold its own, and honestly gave it more of a Dominos Cheesy Bread vibe than a normal pie. The crust, surprisingly, was the highlight - had a nice char and give to it. It was also a pretty expensive pie, all things considered; I paid about $25 for this, which is more NYC than Buffalo. I did have a slice or two of my cousin chum's clam pie, which was a special on that particular night, and I thought that was significantly better than mine, probably because it didn't rely on the tomato sauce. Would definitely get that again. Maybe the play is something from their pasta section, but I've had significantly better pizza. Given the pizza reputation in this city, I'd look around for another option if I were in the area.

I am two for two on restaurants that I've tried this weekend and want to go back again as soon as possible! I had wanted to try this place for a while and the opportunity finally presented itself yesterday. It was so worth the wait. Being a person of Sicilian heritage myself I was amazed at how authentic everything is. I am also going to note that I am gluten sensitive and inquired the day before about what type of flour they used in their dough and if their pasta was imported from Italy. Yes, they do use flour imported from Italy, (and the pasta is imported from Italy as well). I did not have a gluten intolerance reaction at all and left feeling satisfied and wanting more! This place is really all about the pizza. They do have pastas, salads, etc. but the pizza experience is what you're after here - trust me. Having a view of the pizza oven and all that goes into it I could tell they really enjoy what they are doing and they should - they are putting out a fantastic product. Pizza after pizza went by my table and each looked beautiful and smelled amazing. My friend and I split a meatball calzone and let me tell you, the dough was sheer perfection. Dare I say better than my own lol and that's saying something. They serve it with a dish of marinara topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and you can also ask for their special garlic oil that they brush on top of the crust - I suggest you dip your crust in it. So good! After enjoying the calzone, we both got an Affogato made with salted caramel gelato that, you guessed it, is also imported from Italy! If I wasn't impressed already, I was then. I got to sample almost all of the flavors that they had available and ended up taking some pistachio and chocolate gelato home. I cannot wait to make my own Affogato later today using the pistachio. Too bad I don't have Illy coffee beans like they use. I will have to get some. Since my friend had been there a few times before, she recommended a few of the salads that they offer a particular one that is made with bread I cannot wait to try that. I seriously cannot wait to go back, not only was the food amazing, the Service was just as great and with their patio seating I plan on going back for an afternoon Affogato and sitting outside and pretending I am in Italy :-) If you haven't tried this restaurant, you need to go now as fast as you can!

The ingredients are all fresh. They certainly have some very tasty items at this restaurant. The problem is that the menus are a bit old and the prices have changed and when you question the bill then they tell you that the prices have changed and you need to pay the new price which I think is a poor business practice. I'm referring specifically to the wines. You order at the counter and you can eat there or take your food home.

If i had a drop of Italian in me, this might have felt like grandma and grandpa's house. The owner walled around greeting people and chatted with us for a bit. Joey guy. Short but interesting/decent wine list. We are usually sit at the bar people. But there wasnt a bar. However we felt at home at a hight top, people watching. We were impressed before this giant sheet came to our table. Side note: if youre needing some greens--the salad is fresh, perfectly dressed and has little gems on goodness. Pizza. Best we've had a long time. I think it has the slight edge for Brite Smith. So perfectly seasoned. Simple sauce. This crust either is a family tradition or they worked ages on perfecting it. And obey gooey melted cheese. Plus the whole Calabria chili's made us very happy.

This spot blew us away!!! You order at the counter but then the service and food is still incredible. So for a less fancy Italian vibe, this is the spot. The pizzas are huge so be warned but we couldn't pick just one so we still got 3. The garlic sauce is chefs kiss. The wine was good and we had an amazing time. Can't wait to come back!

Overall this place is good. My friends chose a better meal than I did so I would recommend the pizza and paninis if you're eating here. My dish was the chicken and it just wasn't what I expected. Not sure why I thought it would be more like a chicken Francais type dish but this was roasted chicken in an oil/lemon sauce. It was good but I just don't really like bone-in chicken. Pizza was 5/5, totally Italian style and delicious. The panini was also really delicious looking! Salad was very fresh and also had a good dressing!

I don't know why, but I have a problem reviewing Forno Napoli. My inner voice tells me I should go back and eat more pizza, before I make an official statement. I need to be sure that this is actually my favorite pizza in town so far. My excitement is very cautious and under control. I ordered a classic, San Franco. It was love at first sight and first bite. The pie was huge. I've never seen a Napoletana style pizza this large. It was beautiful! The dough was satisfyingly crispy and chewy at the same time. Oh! ... and cheese, just perfect! The chopped pepperoni was good, but maybe there was just too much of it. I didn't see any bottles of olive oil around, but the pizza came with a small container of garlicky olive oil with parmesan. It's actually my favorite Italian dressing. We also ordered Macaroni Al Forno which came with very fresh House Salad. My advice, be hungry before visiting or ordering from Forno Napoli. The restaurant is a very casual, and 'kids' friendly. The location close to the university and student housing means that all restaurants and businesses in this particular plaza must be geared towards them. Picnic tables? Why not! I would have preferred something a little different, but, then again, I like the way they operate. Ordering and paying in advance at the counter was convenient. Everyone who worked there was very friendly. The owner visited our table several times, which was unusual. He wanted to know if we liked the food. Normally I would feel uncomfortable, but this time, surprisingly, it wasn't so bad. I was just feeling happy and glad we finally had the chance to try this place

This was the best experience I've ever had. A little different than ordering from here... we became the chefs with a pizza making experience. 10 of our friends had the best time learning about the Italian pizza making skill, making dough, spreading the dough, building our pizza and then cooking it in the wood fired oven. We laughed and laughed so much. Thank you to Rick!!!! We had an absolute blast and the pizza was soooo good! We did this August 2024 and my friends still talk about how great of a night this was! I had to come back on yelp to share how great this place is! Oh and we're still talking about how delicious the gelato was too!

Great location, ample parking, great service and food. First time here with friends and we were all very happy with our experience. We do wish they had some comfy chairs instead of just benches. My friend had a pillow in her car to bring in, so that's our only suggestion. Some people would rather have cushioned chairs instead of benches. I bet some people don't eat in because of that. Overall would recommend

Half of our group (was a total of four of us) enjoyed their food. The restaurant was clean and bathroom smelled very pleasant. Pricing was fair for what was enjoyed. The focaccia bread was the star of the show for me. My guests enjoyed the shrimp scampi, but felt the portion was small and the salmon was delicious. I did taste a piece of the salmon and was jealous as I can confirm it was delicious...wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. Con's: The other half of our party did not enjoy the food. Unfortunately, I was in that bunch. It was quite surprising as the menu is not robust at all; so our thought was that the items that ARE on the menu must be a delicious specialty. I had the pork chops with pasta and spinach. The pork chop was tough and the pasta was bland. The sauce that accompanied the meal was tasty and moved the overall meal from a 'no', to an 'ok'. The staff at A'mano is super friendly and the person who took our order patiently listened to all of my customizations. He even came by later to give me more information on the breaded vegan chicken I ordered with my pasta. The complimentary focaccia house bread was delicious even without any dips (which you'll rarely ever hear me say as I'm not a fan of eating just bread). My pasta was pretty good and I especially loved the breaded vegan chicken which was very flavorful. My friend got a similar pesto pasta dish with real unbreaded chicken and thought it was decent too. The ambiance is pleasant and is great for both lunch and dinner. It was a bit pricey with all my customized items but I think it deserves a visit every now and then to satisfy my craving of interesting combinations of sauce - fresh pasta - protein!

Always listen to the staff! So I found this place on Yelp and drove about 15 mins from where I was staying to have lunch here. I struck up conversation with the cashier and she said her favorite item was The Club, so that's what I ordered. It's a cute little sandwich shop, it's an order at the counter and they bring your food to your table kind of place. The food: The Classic- Ricotta and pork meatballs, roasted peppers, cherry tomato confit, fresh mozzarella, pesto. This was the universal favorite of me and my two friends. This was so insanely good. Loved the bread as usual, the meatballs were incredibility tasty and tender and the fresh mozzarella had a great taste and good mouthfeel. I didn't even notice the pesto in to be honest, if I were to add something to take it over the top, it would be to add fresh basil, that would make this a perfect sandwich but this was insanely delicious to start with. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=ij0TFdrEOvs15sH_ooYO6A The Club- house roasted turkey, crispy prosciutto, arugula, roasted tomato, caramelized onion aioli. This sandwich made so much sense. First, I love the bread, it's soft, chewy, light and I love the smokey undertones from the oven. Second, the ingredients all make sense, the turkey was an in house product and the turkey tasted like actual turkey which was great. I loved the arugula and the roasted tomato added a nice sweetness but the caramelized onion aioli was amazing. It added a nice creaminess with a subtle sweetness from the caramelized onions. I also really liked the crispy prosciutto, it had a saltier crispy bacon feel to it. This place is a winner and should be celebrated as such. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=cBxGQw9MCVdExyLHgW8XBA The Forager- Roasted mushrooms, herbed ricotta, spinach, crispy onions. This one made so much sense and there wasn't even meat in this one. I loved the roast on the mushrooms, the herbed ricotta was the sleeper item that tied everything together, there was also a nice freshness to the dish I really enjoyed, I think it was an underlying lemon flavor that really added a lot of flavor. The Italian- Ricotta, goat cheese, fig jam, arugula, balsamic. I thought this was going to be an easy favorite but it was just Ok. All the flavors made sense but the sandwich was way too sweet. Also, I didn't love the flavor of the prosciutto, I think the prosciutto could have been a bit better.
