Wonderful service! My granddaughter and I came here after our awful experience at Sonic (see past reviews) and got ourselves a treat. My granddaughter Melissa says she loves her sundae. Heard a lot about Abbott's so we tried their pumpkin ice cream and enjoyed it! A cute place.

This is the best Abbott's location in my humble opinion! The staff here is so kind and there are many places to sit and enjoy your ice cream as you people watch or relax. My usual order is a kiddie chocolate almond in a cone - truly you can't go wrong with Abbott's Chocolate almond. This location is bikeable from our home and we're looking forward to taking advantage all summer long. While flavors are slightly more limited than say a Netsin's or other ice cream shop, they make it worthwhile in terms of quality. Colin ordered a "twist" and just be aware that this won't come in the typical twisted fashion your expect. It seems they only have scoopable, so it will literally just be chocolate custard on top of vanilla. Might disrupt your experience ever so slightly. Prices are fairly reasonable and there's a ton of options for Sundaes and milkshakes too. Overall - a great Abbott's location close to downtown. read more

My first time at this custard chain. I never thought I would like "custard" or "soft serve " so much, but Abbott's was excellent. There were only a few flavors to choose from, but there are a large variety of topping which you can get on your cone or on your i e cream (or both!) I tried vanilla and chocolate almond in a kiddie cup. Beware, if you order two flavors, it does not come in a twist but one glob on top of another glob. The consistency was smooth as silk. I really enjoyed the vanilla but adored the chocolate almond. Not only did the ice cream have a rich chocolate flavor, but it had slivers of the crunchiest almonds I have ever tasted. I've had frozen custard and it was nothing compared to ice cream. However, Abbott's frozen custard is fantastic! It's like the creamiest ice cream you can imagine. If you keep insinuating such things I'm going to have you arrested and kept in custardy for abbott 5 years. 5 years is abbott how long it's been since I first tried this custard (at the Buffalo location) and I loved it then more than I'd ever loved custard before, and I love it now more than I did then. What to get: Vanilla Custard. What else: Raspberry Sorbet, and my number. This is the cutest little location of Abbott's. It's across from Yolickity, round the back of the street in a little hidden strip mall, and it's not really easy to find. It's tiny inside (like this girl I know), and the two girls working in there are super cute, super attentive and super friendly. I decided to break from my custardian traditions and give the Raspberry Sorbet a try. $3 for a pretty large baby size. It was extremely sweet, very cold and fruity and refreshing on a hot day. Most of all, it was absolutely delicious! I'd definitely get it again, especially if they have other sorbet flavours I can try some time. Extremely impressed. What I like about this location other than how cute and tiny and friendly it is, is how underrated and out of the way it is. It's so quiet and hardly anyone comes here. It breaks my heart and makes me want to keep coming back even though I have a much more popular and frequented favourite location elsewhere. I also like that they have chairs literally in the parking lot, to give people a place to sit and eat. Well done for elaborating on meager surroundings. Full marks for innovation and improvisation (thanks to Suadal for that) and it adds a little something to this place. The only thing I didn't like was the cone... it tasted a little stale unfortunately, probably because they don't do much business compared to other locations. But they still get a 5 star from me. I wouldn't put it up there with my fave 5-star Abbott's... the best one I've been to is in Henrietta, I wrote a 5-star review of it, it's the 1225 Jefferson Rd location. Amazing interior, amazing fresh custard with very fresh-tasting cones, good service, generous portions, and plus they told me they'd kill me if I didn't say this. As for the typical Abbott's remarks - Abbotts/Bill Grays usualy share space like Taco Bell/KFC do in many places. But not at this location, which is just AbFab. It's one of my "best 5 custards I've ever had." I think I like custard more than ice cream, more than fro yo, less than real gelato. For custard specifically, which is sort of like soft-serve-but-creamier, the best in the country are Leon's in Milwaukee and Nielsen's in Vienna, VA, and then Abbott's in 3rd. Went to the one on E. Henrietta Rd. for first time as I'd heard great things. I ordered a caramel milkshake & it was more like milk with no shake. There was no caramel flavor either. So very disappointed plus they are very expensive. Milkshakes at McDonalds are 100% better. read more

Let me tell you about this wonderful ice cream/custard store. I recently had my shoulder replacement and my husband and I stopped in to get a custard after physical therapy. When I left the store I slipped and fell on my good shoulder. Unable to get up, Randy who I believe either was the owner or the store manager rushed out to help my husband get me off the hot driveway. He brought out cold water for both my husband and me, helped my husband get me off of the driveway by holding my bad arm and brought me a cold cloth to help my scrapes. Then he got us 2 replacement custards. Randy went far and above what he needed to do and we cannot thank him enough!! we will be back to visit when we come back to Rochester again!! read more

Finally the Brighton location is open again!!!! We try and try to limit ourselves in frequency to Abbott's but the staff there now know our order and make it perfectly every time! Ok.. We wanted to try this place. The one closer to our place on Park Ave is a pain in the ass to park. So we found this place, it's in a strip mall if I did not know where it was I would have drove past it, no signage to know where it was other than photos on Yelp.. But this is minor... We went in, it's a small place, the staff was nice and accommodating they gave us samples so we could figure out what we would like to have. It was yummy and I can't wait to try more custard. You can get cakes and pint sized versions of custard as well. Lots of locations. Give them a shot, they have plenty of parking and they have lawn chairs in the parking lot to chill out. There are many places that boast of their Frozen Custard but Abbott's definitely tops them all. Its easy to pass the store because of its size but definitely worth stopping in to see the selection. We came in after eating dinner at a nearby restaurant and were we glad that we stopped in. They have a wide variety of frozen custards available and they'll let you have some samples to help narrow down your choice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My favorite ice cream place in town. The frozen custard here is soft, fluffy, and completely incredible in all other terms. It's not priced great, but I can still give them 5 stars. We average a trip a week to this location between May and September. My wife would be happy to go more frequently, but she admits that it is nicer to have frozen custard (not ice cream) as a treat. We enjoy the sundaes the most; peanut butter cup is probably my favorite. The employees are always friendly. Recently, when the owner was working, we inquired about how they rotate the special flavors on the menu and he said if we called a day before he would take a request. Love this location of Abbott's. I love that it's open all year. Kind of wish they had indoor seating, especially when I'm sitting on the snowy bench outside in January, but that's what pints are for! The only bad thing about this place is that the custard will melt down your hand and arm if you let it, so you better eat it quickly or get it in a dish. read more
