Long story...but I will simplify it. 2006 F-150. Original motor goes out around 135K miles. I order a different type of engine through a very reputable company and also purchase the extended warranty with all the 'bells & whistles'. Not only that, I have a rebuilt transmission & rear end installed. All of this work was done by other mechanics; much smaller shops, though reputable as well. Around 153K miles, something isn't 'feeling' right with the engine. By this time, my wife & I have become patrons of ABC auto...in a way that both she and myself would say 'Divine' appointment. I am not being facetious about that. Under the care of Anders & the rest of the staff, a problem is diagnosed with the replacement motor. It isn't a significant problem...I could have the computer reset and sell the truck...but this problem will grow substantially over time and destroy the engine, whether I am driving it or another person who purchased the truck. Without writing several pages explaining the amount of problems I have had with my truck, taking it to reputable shops much smaller than ABC, along with the emotional & financial toll it took on me & my family (not having a car for weeks, months at a time...taking it to shops, what seems to be a regular basis), the amount of care, professionalism, advice that I received from Anders & other team members at ABC, was exceptional; extraordinary. I have taken my truck and our 2003 explorer into ABC many times. They are older vehicles and regardless of what seems like my 'truck being made on a Monday', moving parts wear out and need to be replaced at some point. So, I have been to ABC auto at least 15-20 times over the last few years. At no point have I ever felt that I was being 'primed' for a fix that was not needed or necessary. At no point, has my wife or I felt we were being 'taken for a ride.' This isn't to say they are perfect. For one instance, there was a recurring noise from my wife's explorer. They narrowed down the problem; we agreed to the work. The problem still persisted. So, rather than having to haggle or complain, even before the car was returned, they divulged that they had 'miscalculated' or 'misdiagnosed' (I want to be careful and fair with my choice of words) and so how did ABC handle this? They replaced the parts free of charge. If that isn't integrity, I don't know what is. My experience with ABC (and there is quite a lot of it) can be summed up with these words; professionalism, integrity, honesty, care, prompt, affordable. I am sure there are a few more positive terms I could add. Lastly, the issues with my 2006 F-150. It was as if Anders took it personally all of the crap that had happened to my truck (before I was a customer at ABC) and while it was under their care. Just on my end, it was kind of a mess dealing with the large engine replacement company (but more or less, that worked out). I know that Anders spent a lot of time and effort trying to ensure that the problem with the replacement motor was taken care of, and it surely was. One of the things I really appreciate with ABC as compared to the smaller, reputable shops, is they provided me or at least offered me rides to and fro, when I had no other means of transportation (besides a beach cruiser or my own two feet). Since my truck was going to be in their shop for weeks, as soon as one of their loaner cars was available, well, it was loaned to me. That saved me and my family big money, headache and time. It should be obvious that I am spending a lengthy amount of time writing this review. I think it is important. Customer service seems to be a thing of the past, at least in many parts of California (idk...I am a native of CA, for good or bad or both). But I have no problems or qualms praising ABC for their commitment to customer service, integrity, professionalism, courteousness, promptiness, effort, care. I am sure that this stems from the owner of ABC, Lee, who I don't think I have met, but have talked to on the phone once or twice. You will be hard pressed to find a better operation. I am sure that they are out there. But if you, like me at one time, were looking for a larger shop that had the available personnel, to get the job done within a reasonable amount of time, with expertise, with professionalism, with a nice lobby with strange frogs, that offer rides to and fro, that won't rip you off...well, search no more. CRITICAL WARNING FOR ALL DRIVERS - ESPECIALLY TESLA AND EV OWNERS: Do not trust ABC Auto Care. They are uncertified, unequipped, and uneducated on advanced EV electronics, and they misrepresent diagnostic capabilities to secure business. My experience completely ruined my car's driveability. Following a $2,229.88 A/C repair, my 2018 Tesla Model X threw a steering offset code (PW041_DASMIA) and a hazardous pull. Advisor Isaac explicitly lied face-to-face, claiming they had access to proprietary Tesla Toolbox software. Relying on this, I authorized alignments and spent thousands in labor trying to get it running safely.Their scheduling was deceptive. Promised 1-to-2-day repairs routinely stretched into a week. This culminated in May when they held my vehicle continuously for 28 days, jerking me around while trying to service a system they weren't equipped to handle. When I asked about progress after 20 days--and after they supposedly ordered the software--I was told they were too busy with other cars. Lacking software, they blindly forced mechanical alignments over thousands of miles. The steering rack fought the suspension geometry, causing dangerous low-speed vibrations, phantom-braking, and destroying three full sets of premium tires down to the steel bands.I ultimately had to research the manual and physically educate their technicians step-by-step on how the steering rack functions, what the code meant, and how to clear the applied offset in the service menu. It wasn't until I sent technical screenshots that they admitted they didn't own the software, texting me on May 8th that they were only just "obtaining toolbox." Owner Lee later aggressively claimed they do not need special software for a Tesla and do them "just like normal cars"--a terrifying level of professional ignorance for a computer-driven EV.Instead of calibrating the software, they took static measurements and typed a fabricated diagnosis onto my invoice (#82498) claiming permanent "frame damage around eccentric bolts" to cover their incompetence. They told me it was "good enough" and "as close as they could get it." The absurdity is that they had just worked directly on that suspension layout, cutting old bolts to install new lower AFT arms. Only when they realized they couldn't align it without software did they claim my chassis was broken. Their final specs were dangerous: Front Right Toe at -0.06°, Caster split at 5.0° vs 4.6°, and inner-tire destroying Camber at -1.3°.Lee issued a predatory 24-hour ultimatum: buy a $3k-$5k subframe out-of-pocket and pay his "cheap" labor, or take the car. I refused his trap and towed it to Tesla. Tesla placed the car on their factory rack, executed the proper procedures, and aligned the vehicle perfectly until every specification went completely into the GREEN. Tesla's successful alignment physically and mathematically proves ABC Auto Care fabricated structural damage to hide their mistakes.To make matters worse, their loaner vehicle catastrophically broke down twice over two holiday weekends. The starter failed on Mother's Day weekend, leaving me stranded. Three days before going out of town a second time, I sent a formal letter requesting a safe, fuel-efficient alternative. They ignored it, forcing me to drive a gas-guzzling vehicle getting 16 MPG--a massive financial hardship over 28+ days. The junk loaner broke down a second time over Memorial Day weekend on the highway, requiring an emergency tow and repairs just to get home, severely disrupting our family holiday travel.This shop is a liability. A coworker noted they tried to overcharge his wife nearly $800 on a Jaguar for a minor fix another shop did for $25. They actively try to take advantage of customers. A formal consumer protection case has been officially submitted, and they have a pending investigation with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). Stay far away. read more

I really hate to do this but these guys drag their chain for sure. My daughters car was towed there after she couldn't get it started when she left work at lunch to go to the sandwich shop. These guys quoted 900+2 change three coil packs plug wires and spark plugs. And then see if it worked. Did not include ignition module under the coil packs which would've been another $800.I was suspect of the diagnosis since I thought they were guessing but they were adamant about how they do things there. So I drove from Phoenix Arizona to Ventura California with a tow dolly retrieve the car and the daughter brought it back to Phoenix and found a blown ignition fuse in the fuse box. I replaced the 15 amp fuse and the car started right away. Although I did replace the battery also. So if these guys are just guessing I can't imagine what they're charging customers for work that they really don't do. I actually had the conversation with the tech . Did you check all the fuses? Battery? Is there fuel? It's like I was doing the guiding and they still were stuck on swapping parts that were not failed ( ugly but not failed ) oh this is a 2005 Buick le Sabre . Worth about 2000 if we are lucky. It cost a lot to go get it and her but a least I got wave session and a awesome craft beer at transmission brewery and clam chowder at The Pier .. next time boys read more

I was traveling back to Arizona after a vacation with my four children when my van started overheating in Ventura. As a woman, I felt vulnerable since I don't know anything about cars. I went on Yelp and found ABC Auto Care that had some good reviews. So, I got towed over there. It was a Friday afternoon and they were very busy so I started to get worried. However, everything turned out great. They were able to loan me a vehicle for the weekend (a CADILLAC!) and my kids and I went to Magic Mountain. The van was ready on Monday with a new water pump and we were on our way. When I got home, I showed the repair order to my regular mechanic. He was astonished at how reasonable the prices were. He said "I thought everything in California was more expensive!" I am very grateful to have chosen the right repair shop - they really came through for me. read more

This morning I went in to get a Pre-Purchase Inspection done on a Porsche Boxster. Everyone at ABC Auto Care was very professional and speedy in their service and assessment of the vehicle. The shop was very nice and clean. The vehicle was nice and shiny on the outside but turned out that the Driveshaft / Drive Axle / Axle Shaft had cracking boots and it was starting to have a bad leak. In addition to that it needed front & rear struts & rear brakes and rotors. The owner had stated that he had just spent over $800 on a new brake job... Wow, So happy I dodged a bullet on this car saving me $$$ and aggravation on dealing with repairs. The inspection was well worth it!! Officially added ABC to my list of preferred service providers and actually drive from Pasadena to have car serviced. The service and support cannot be matched! Even if great service a glitch sometimes happens and it nice to know that an honest and reputable company like ABC Auto Care maintains such high standards in correcting an issue should it arise. Upon completion of my service I was told that a tool box accidentally got away from a mechanic and put a couple of deep scratches on my front bumper. Their response was both apologetic and sincere. I was told that, at my convenience, they would be happy to repair the damage and give me a loaner car during the time I will be without mine. Accidents happen and they responded perfectly! These guys are the best. Relatively fast, friendly and always seem to favor forming a great relationship with clients instead of screwing them over. Every time I go in they remember me and make some sort of accommodation for my needs.
