This has to be one of the best Yelp-recommended experiences I've ever had. I called Jason around 2:30PM on a weekday, thinking he would be super busy and I would need to schedule an appointment for the next week. By chance, he was in transit and passing my exit on the highway, so he diverted his path (at his insistence) and was at my workplace within 5 minutes of my call. Talk about customer service. Jason made an extra key for my Mazda 3 within minutes -- while I went back up to work, no less. He just texted me when he was done. Jason came out late night and pretty quick when I called him, he was very detailed and explained everything he was doing. He asked me if I wanted a duplicate which made sense due to my original key snapped in half . I paid the price for him coming out and that is acceptable due to working at late night hours which I was very pleased with. Anytime it is late hours you have to expect the price will go up more! Jason was a lifesaver! My car had been broken into, and my boyfriends keys (which had the only copy to his car and my spare set) were taken, among other things. Not knowing where to turn, I used Yelp and after reading the reviews, decided to call Jason. He was at my residence within the hour, and was able to program a new key to my boyfriends car and redo all of the locks on my car (since the thieves had my drivers license containing my home address and could come back at any time to take the car). He was super friendly and knowledgeable, and although I don't know much about pricing on lock changes, I feel that his pricing was very fair and reasonable. I doubt it's the company's fault but their employee provided HORRIBLE service. He may have been having an off day but in addition to constant complaints, when my friend tried to negotiate a price, the company man yelled the F word and threw the keys at my friend. I asked the guy to come back so we could work things out but he yelled something unintelligible and drove off. I was appalled by this man's attitude and poor work ethic. Had a horrible thing happened this morning when I tried to get the doorknob off of my room door and ended up locked in my room for over two hours. Jason had to pick through 4 locks and remove the stuck door pin and replaced my previous locks. He got to my place in a pretty good amount of time, considering most locksmiths take a couple hours. I made an appointment for Jason to meet me at my new apartment to install an electronic keypad lock to the front door. Per his request, I sent him photos of the current lock and of the new keypad lock. At the appointed day, I drove over to the new apartment and waited for Jason to show up for the 2:30 appointment. At 2:38 I texted him and asked if we were still on for the appointment. He immediately returned my text, apologizing for being a no-show, and explaining that he had responded to an "emergency" call instead. He suggested that he do my job the next day. We asked Jason to program a new Volkswagen Jetta key. It turns out, he only needed to program the remote control portion because the old key still had a functioning immobilizer chip and physical cut key. He quickly figured this out, but probably wanted to make more money then just coming out to program a remote control. He insisted on cutting a new key and tried to move the immobilizer chip to the new key. It worked out in the end, but he still charged us $120 when it probably could have been a smaller job at less cost. We are grateful for a new functioning Jetta key. read more

Fast, responsive, and professional. I wanted to make a copy of doors-only emergency key for 2015 VW Jetta. Jason answered my call promptly, despite having made my call at the dreadful morning hour -- 6:15 am. Jason was able to meet with me within few minutes at an arranged meeting place and he immediately set to work in his portable workshop set up in the back of his van. Within 30 minutes, Jason was able to produce a beautiful working copy of the emergency key. The plastic covering of the key even had VW logo stamped on it (copyright law? what's that???). Jason made sure the key worked on the door and demonstrated its use. I'm not too sure if he has a cash-only policy (didn't ask), but I paid him in cash since I had some at hand. I think this is the best locksmith on the island! He gives really good service and is such a kind and friendly man. My condo key had bent and wasn't able to unlock my entry door. I called him and explained what happened and went over to see if he could fix my key. It was a Saturday evening and I probably wouldn't have been able to get into my condo or get a new key from the property manager right away. These are the type of keys you can't copy! Jason is a real pro in his field. I have a 1993 Del Sol. I needed a key to lock my gas tank door release as the trunk key no longer worked. The key for the ignition would often stick when I tried to start my car. Jason was able to get the keys working for all my locks for a very reasonable price. He always answers phone calls. Cheaper than the dealership, faster than most key shops, and super pleasant! I needed a replacement transponder chip key and Jason was able to do it right outside of my house in about an hour. He even went the extra mile free of charge to drill a hole through my spare key which had broken (the plastic bridge) so I could actually secure it to a key ring.
